Da Elio in Davos

It's really a very nice Italian restaurant in the heart of Davos and the owner Giovanni is really extremely accommodating and kind and the food was excellent and we really enjoyed our time there. This restaurant is highly recommended!

Pizzas are *****, service is very friendly, prices are reasonable.

Food was very good! Portions rather small (unless pizza was normal) Additional ingredients on the pizza are possible, but unfortunately these had to be searched for on the pizza (despite the additional charge). We found the prices to be significantly too high. (except pizza was ok) A 5% discount when paying in cash seems dubious.

The food was very good, the gentleman at the reception wasn't very friendly.

A bit inconspicuous from the outside. The service team was very friendly and accommodating, even in the stress of a hockey game. The food was always very good. When we are in Davos we always go to Da Elio.

The place has good service and is fine - however the pizza are quite average.. neither good nor bad. They are not Italian pizzas for sure. Surprised by the positive reviews, I guess people reviewing this place never had the chance to try nice pizzas before. So in short: for food I wouldn’t recommend the place, however service and atmosphere are good, the wine too and fairly priced.

Our dishes were very good. Unfortunately, the ambience in the restaurant is a bit lacking, but the food is very convincing.

Go to another place. HI When you review on Google, they ask you which dishes you recommend. I preferred not to recommend anything. Among other things, booked the table, waited outside for 20 minutes... but that's the least of it. You go to the restaurant to eat at the end and then you eat like this... oh well Super waiter from Naples (his name is Andrea, mistreated by another Slovakian waiter) has nothing to do with this, the only one who survives

Food was standard - average at best. Service was absolutely horrendous. Would not even consider coming back.

Salads with acceto overly acidic, pizza okay (a bit too much garlic), zabaglione: inedible The restaurant is well staffed, which is probably why they don't bother anymore. The service seems demotivated.

The food was fine, the service was very accommodating. There is a deduction due to the (very) high prices. Spaghetti without sauce for children costs a whopping 15 francs.

From the outside it looks rather modest and inconspicuous. Don't be fooled! 😄 The atmosphere is very appealing. Although the restaurant was busy that evening, the service was very good. The pizza is clearly above the normal average! Be it the excellent dough or the ingredients. The tiramisù is also definitely a recommendation! Top! 👍

The restaurant is somewhat hidden in a building complex that is getting a bit old. However, inside the pretty pub is very cozy. However, the real treasure is hidden in the food. The best pizzas far and wide are available here. Richly topped, thin and crispy base and still very juicy. If you want to eat a good pizza in Davos, you should remember Da Elio. It is advisable to make a reservation as the restaurant is very busy. The service is attentive and the food comes very quickly.

Very pleasant atmosphere, very good food, whether pizza, beef fillet, etc., everything tastes excellent. Boss and service perfect, friendly and competent. Reservation is important in winter, now in summer it is also possible for two without a reservation

Had one of the most horrible experiences on my trip in Switzerland. Food was average and that is fine. For context, we were the only folks of color in the restaurant and least attended to. The server threw the plates on our table and rolled her eyes when we asked for butter to accompany the bread. Whereas, we noticed everyone else having a great experience, ordering espressos and dessert. The staff were pleasantly interacting with every other table. We weren’t even expecting conversations, just wanted to be treated well and attended to. We did not feel welcomed and I would not recommend going here if you’re a person of color.

As my friend said in another review, the food was ok but the service was pretty bad.

I would like to reaffirm the review that indicated biased behavior. We were a table of 4 and I never received a plate. After asking for a plate, I received the smallest plate that was essentially useless given the number of appetizers that we had ordered. Generally, the service was terrible and food was mediocre at best. I'm not sure if there are better Italian places in davos but I'd imagine there must be.

Pre-cooked risotto with mushrooms😢😢. Fusilli with pesto pre-cooked pasta is cold. A shame about the restaurant that times I worked here (32 years ago) was one of the best.

Unfortunately not recommended for vegan dishes. According to the menu, the pizza dough contains milk and egg, which was also confirmed when asked. It's a real shame, because then only pasta with tomato sauce or salad remains to choose from. The service is friendly and the waiting time for the dishes is quite short.

For starters we had Bruschetta Funghi which was an absolute poem that will be remembered for a long time. For the main course we enjoyed a Prosciutto Funghi pizza and homemade pasta with bacon and chanterelles, which catapulted us into seventh heaven. To round things off there was a tiramisu and torta della nonna which also tasted absolutely fantastic. Particularly noteworthy are the excellent quality and freshness of the food and the very friendly staff. Absolutely justified in terms of price. We'll definitely be back. Large selection, quality is great, moderate prices

Food and restaurant good, unfortunately long waiting time to order and until you get the food.

The food was sensationally delicious. The atmosphere was a bit sterile and at the beginning it took a long time before we could order drinks, given that there were only about five tables occupied. In my opinion, however, it is highly recommended. Be sure to enjoy dessert too.

Ordered one portion of asparagus au gratin with fried eggs and one portion of ravioli. The asparagus "au gratin" was just was just asparagus fried, with fried eggs on top of them. When asked, the waiter reverted that this is normal and au gratin means just with butter. Never seen this definition of au gratin in my life. The ravioli were delicious but there were like in total 5 of them. My partner finished eating before I finished my first asparagus. Beer also tasted off. If you go definitely go for the pizzas and don't do risky experiments as we did.

Everything thing I had was wonderful. I enjoyed everything I had. This is a must try.

“Hidden” pizzeria in the middle of Davos. Very nice reception and service staff. Unfortunately, the olives we ordered were not preserved in herbal oil as requested and confirmed. Not a big deal because it wasn't on the bill. The salad and pizzas were super tasty. Of course the price is high, as usual for Davos :). We'd love to come back!

As a Cordon Bleu connoisseur, I don't recommend anyone to eat a Cordon Bleu here. It was okay at best. The pizza met expectations. Tomato cream supper very nice. I saw the greatest potential for improvement in the service.

We spontaneously went for lunch. The staff is friendly. We had 1x lasagne for 29.- 1x pork picata for 39.- For a workers menu of 20.- It would have been good. These prices that are being quoted are a disgrace. We chose Da Elio precisely because of the prices. We were really happy to eat well. Were really disappointed. Won't come anymore. P.s If it's so expensive, at least restore it completely. Very embarrassing for a tourist place. The boss has to fill his pockets well.

Literally the best pizza I’ve ever had!

Quite expensive. A nut salad as a starter for 20 francs… green salad just 3 leaves. The pizza is very tasty and has plenty of toppings. Service not really friendly or warm. Dessert delicious. Tables get in the way of the waiter.

The place was full and you still got great service and great food with cheese, chilies and lots of pizza bread

The pizzeria was just too crowded for me and was almost empty until shortly before 8 p.m. It looked like everyone wanted to eat something before the HCD home game. Service and food were otherwise good.

A bit chaotically loud in the evenings during the high season and the waiting times are accordingly. Pasta, although called for al dente, was rather overcooked. There are definitely better pizzas in Davos. So average cuisine. The reviews are generally overrated in my opinion.

VERY FAST SERVICE and really good pizza

Food very quickly and as ordered. There were more than 30 of us and everyone received exactly the pizza they ordered. Service staff top!

Long waiting time to order, the service is rather unmotivated and moderately friendly. The food, which was of slightly below average quality, was not served at the same time and one dish was also wrong. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired, especially since the prices are rather high.

The bruschetta & tomato cream 🥣 were very tasty as a starter 🤗 .. unfortunately the beef carpaccio was far too cold and you couldn't taste any of the meat. The filled red ravioli and the Montanara tagliatelle with white Bolognese and porcini mushrooms were again very tasty. 👌 The spaghetti 🍝 AOP was also good. The background noise was a little louder, but otherwise a nice evening with the family.

Best Carbonara ever ! The cooking was perfect, the sauce was creamy yet not to strong in cheese (pecorino?) /pepper. They served it with authentic guanciale. Home made bread, in the pizza oven - incredibly fresh and savory! Lovely bruscheta on the side of the soups.

The service was nice but we waited almost an hour for our food and the drink we got smelled like rotten eggs. We even made a reservation but couldn't go to the table because we were 20 minutes early, even if no one at our table saw it, we had to still wait. So, on the whole, it can be fine, but if you want food quickly you should order something online or eat somewhere else

This restaurant obviously doesn't feel the need to treat potential guests decently. We were in Davos for the second time this year and wanted to spontaneously go out to eat here (i.e. without a reservation). Both times we were left standing at the entrance for a few minutes and ignored. The first time in the summer I could understand why there was no room at 8 p.m. The second time a few days ago, when we came in at around 5:15 p.m. the pub was still 90% empty. Again we were simply brushed off because everything was already reserved. We just wanted to eat something small and would have left at 6 p.m., when most of the guests would arrive. This wasn't even offered to us. As I said, they just don't need it...

Discreet restaurant with friendly and helpful staff, good food except the spaghetti carbonara, they do not cook the pasta immediately and it is very noticeable in the flavor of the carbonara as they cannot use the pasta broth because it is pre-cooked.

Not a good experience, I am a Vegan and Gluten Free, I came and forewarned them 4 days in advance and asked to provide something imaginative for me. What did I get? Salad leaves 🍃 literally, with nothing in it, see picture, and penne with tomatoes and 5 slices of pickled artichoke. It’s actually an insult to the customer, what happened to cucumbers 🥒, tomatoes 🍅, radishes, avocado 🥑 and dressing for god sake? Pasta was ok, but a luck of imagination is staggering! Two others had pizza which was ok. When we finished the food, plates left on a table for ages. We have not offered dessert 🍨 menu, so we left. My salad leaves cost 11 franks, how can anyone can justify this? Not recommended to visit.

In a nutshell... top food! Service flop! Admittedly, we arrived at 1:45 p.m. because we were looking in vain for a restaurant that served decent meals and lunch. The boss stood smoking in front of the entrance and asked us what we wanted. Then we eat something. Shaking his head, he replied that they closed at 2 p.m. and asked us the time himself. Then he again, okay, but quickly. We entered the restaurant and could already hear the Italian employees cursing in Italian. The whole restaurant was empty except for one other couple. Under stress we ordered within 2 minutes. The food was really very well prepared except the portion was a bit small. I also had to eat 2 rolls lol. We had just finished eating at 2:08 p.m. and when we were clearing away we were asked if they could collect money straight away. I expect a little more professionalism in Davos. I also gave up tipping for this. But big compliments to the kitchen!

The pizza was baked very well, but my parents' deer pepper was very dry and the quantity wasn't much. The price performance is:👎because the deer pepper was cooked dry and the amount on the plate was very minimal
