Food, quite tasty but no usual extras, I had lasagna, not even a chip or side salad in sight! Drinks, if there's two of you I'd recommend a bottle of wine rather than cocktails, also no beers available. Service was slow but staff were friendly.

Extremely unpleasant service, table was dirty when we sat, we had to ask several times for them to clean. We wanted a table in the sun, they kept on saying that they were reserved but kept on accepting customers coming after us.

Nice little place in the center of Lugano Prices are a little expensive though for being in the center of Lugano. Good place to have an aperitif. Can't complain. If you pass through Lugano it is a good place to have an aperitif. A nice plate of appetizers surrounds the glass of Franciacorta. As mentioned, high prices... but we are in the midst of reform.....

No Service! I wouldn't add anything else.

After finishing a show at the LAC we wanted to have a drink and ended up here somewhat by chance. Since it was the end of the evening they made us sit at a table inside and presented the menu of gins and cocktails. We chose a nose and we liked the one we chose. Prices above average and unfortunately what won't make us return was that despite having spent 35 fr for two cocktails they didn't even have a couple of chips to accompany. Goodbye 🙋‍♂️

Pleasant discovery in Piazza Riforma in Lugano, nice and welcoming place, polite and professional staff, good food, prices a little higher than average, but given the quality of the products and the service, you are happy to spend a little more! We had such a great time. As we arrived we were seated fast and welcomed friendly. I don't understand the one star reviews here. The service was on top! We were served fast and the hosts helped us choose our starter and main dish. The cocktails were so delicious we even had to take one on the way. As the main dish arrived we forgot about making pictures of the food and just enjoyed. Everything went so smooth and always with a smile. The cute one bite deserts were fantastic and such a smart idea to go with the cocktails. We really recommend to visit this "hidden" gem with the view on the lake with a bit more time to just enjoy. We will for sure pay a visit on our next Lugano trip. Thank you guys for the great evening! See you next time.

To be avoided, grumpy staff, zero welcome. It seems like they are doing you a favor by serving you. Too expensive for what it is. Apparently it takes too much effort to join two tables together.

I thought when we dined here, our family's experience was a one-off. I am not surprised to see that wasn't the case. We visited Logano on the last Saturday of July and ended up here when it rained, and they had outdoor covered dining areas. First, for a family of 6, we were jammed into one table. We were told that was all the space they had. Mind you, minutes later, more people arrived and were seated where they wished. We proceeded to order our drinks and meals. We would have appreciated the dining experience more had the staff not been very rude. One lady server kept saying, "Excuse me, Madame," for every single sentence I said. Even my family wondered why she kept doing that as I speak perfect English. Our table was wobbling the whole time, to which one server completely ignored my sister's request to fix it. This caused my niece to knock off a glass from the table on our way out. No apologies or anything after the fact. Instead, we were made to feel embarrassed that the glass fell. As an establishment, I imagine you pride in your food and drinks. This should not give you an excuse to treat paying customers poorly. Also, one polite and kind reminder to not consume bottled water or any food from elsewhere is sufficient enough for a customer. (My niece had bought cannolis from the weekend market close by.) To rudely come back to our table multiple times when we put the items away after the first time is just uncalled for. I hope no other family ever experiences what we did.

dish called selection of froi gras, I would have expected more than one type of frois, but instead only one, not particularly good mixed up in a dish with other not particularly successful combinations. then creamed cod... but creamed cod has a different consistency and flavor and then combined with vinegar. Da Lino, La Prosciutteria in Lugano is a true paradise for meat and cured meat lovers. The selection of hams and cheeses is exceptional, and the dishes are prepared with great skill. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is very courteous. However, the size of the venue can make it difficult to find a free table during peak periods. Despite this, if you love traditional Italian cuisine, Da Lino is definitely a place to visit. 🍖🧀👍

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. By far the most disrespectful staff I've encountered in Lugano. AVOID THIS PLACE.

I had the opportunity to go to this restaurant during a stay in Lugano. On the menu outside it said 2pm for a lasagna. I was in a hurry and accompanied by my wife, we decided to order. Then we asked for the bill and the amount of lasagna instead of 14, they charged 26 each. They dishonestly crossed out the value of the dish of the day on the entrance board, to increase the value of the bill. Don't go to this restaurant, also, they charged another 20 euro fee, which they say is the tablecloth, plates and cutlery they use. A bill that would have been 45 euros, they charged 95 euros. I didn't call the police because I had to rush to catch the plane. Here is the record to avoid falling into this trap.

Overall a negative and expensive experience. I ordered a salad that came with a rotten avocado, spinach, olives and an old chicken. For almost 30.- At the beginning the waitress said there was lasagna. My son wanted to eat the lasagne, but when he ordered the lady said there was no more lasagne. A short time later, someone at the next table got a lasagna😡

We visited Lugano together with our Yorkies. We originally went to the lake for pizza and pasta, but as we walked by, the staff smiled at our dogs and they refused to go any further. 😃 Sometimes it's great to change the plan and that was this case. We got perhaps the best lasagna we've had in our entire lives and a very tasty sandwich. It was a really nice stop after all the day. Thanks. ⭐️

Were turned away on the grounds that everything was reserved for lunch. We were served by the competition - they were happy about the 150 euros in sales.

Twice I went and twice, even though there are free tables, they put up a reserved sign and don't let you sit, as if they were making a selection at the entrance to a nightclub! I will never set foot there again and I advise you not to give money to these people! The ruin of the Lugano living room! You can't do less... free table we sat outside the waiter comes and asks us if we want to eat we said we wanted to drink something (Appetite comes with eating or drinking) and he told us that the table was reserved by someone who was sitting inside and that if we wanted to sit we had to eat!! We walked into Da Lino by chance because my partner and I were craving pizza. Only there was no pizza. We had already ordered our drinks and looked at the menu. Da Lino is more like a kind of bar with delicious smaller, mainly cold dishes... but there are also warm daily specials such as homemade lasagne. The service was exceptionally nice and attentive - a big compliment to the girl who served us - I think her name is Giulia... She clearly enjoyed her work and was very attentive - with all her guests! Da Lino is located in the beautiful Piazza Alessandro Manzoni directly on Lake Lugano. We'll definitely be back - but without wanting to eat pizza. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------- Siamo andati per caso da Da Lino perché io e my compagno avevamo voglia di pizza. Solo che la pizza non c'era. This is the order of the day and is now part of the menu. Da Lino is also a bar with delicious little piccoli, soprattutto Freddi... so he also came to the hot lasagne in his house. The service is exceptionally gentle and attentive - compliments to everyone who serves - the credo of Giulia. The Lino is located in the beautiful Piazza Alessandro Manzoni, directly on Lake Lugano. Make sure you don't have to wait until you eat the pizza.

Very unfriendly staff. The four of us went to a table in the sun that had just become available. The very unfriendly gentleman from the service (bald) came and told us it was reserved and we had to sit inside. We then left and when I turned around, a couple walked up to the table and he nodded that the place was free. When we asked him about it he just said “He doesn’t have time to discuss”! Impudence! Therefore I cannot recommend this restaurant. They definitely don't deserve our money.

Had lunch with my wife on Sunday March 12, 2023. The staff is friendly and very professional. We ate very well and drank excellent wine, all for a reasonable price. The only downside: the portion of coffee cream costs 0.20 Frs. We will definitely return there once.

Terrible place in beautiful square in Lugano the menu doesn't correspond to the courses, they tell you 2 platters of cheeses and cured meats and then you only get one. Not enough for everyone. Only the bill is in abundance and totally incongruous. Once the inconvenience is highlighted, they don't care much, replying that we are in Swiss! Furthermore, when the bill arrives the invoices are inflated compared to the current exchange rate. 10.02pm +

Total rudeness. I stopped by at 10.50am with my family to have an aperitif, we asked to sit outside on the terrace (where there were 2 tables occupied with people drinking coffee). The girl rudely tells us that everything is reserved for those who eat, and sends us under the arcades. Dear LINO, if you want to go and sell hams for another few years, perhaps check which people you hire and that you treat tourists as best as possible, and not those who live in Lugano.

Unnecessarily expensive and "snobbish" place. To stay "inside" they ask for a (high) minimum expense. It was also very full and frankly nothing special.

Zero reception. We arrived at 11.30pm with 5 people and the bar was half empty. We ordered 4 drinks, the fifth person didn't like anything. As if we were in a packed bar in downtown Manhattan, we were told that we would have to go out and that drinking was mandatory, oh well. The only star is for the quality of the cocktails, nothing to say. Last but not least they tried to make us pay for a drink twice; they may have been wrong, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. However to be avoided.

Sunday in Lugano for the Klee exhibition, lunch in this place with outdoor tables. Just in time because the place filled up quickly. We were seated immediately. We had 3 first courses and two glasses of prosecco. Everything in line with our tastes. Two sweets and a coke. Total 137 CHF. We are in Lugano, everything is very expensive and I had budgeted for a similar expense. We'll gladly go back.

Three months ago I brought my family... 20 minutes to order, a phlegm that makes us sleepy just looking! Saturday evening, that is yesterday during the Estival Jazz, I stopped by to greet my daughter and her father with a glass in my hand from the square. Immediately this little waitress arrives and tells me that I can't sit down if I don't order. Ahhhhhhh!! Then I get upset and another big guy arrives, in the end I leave but they, the waiters, no longer serve my daughter or her father even if the waitress continues to say that he is coming... He breaks two glasses, paying them Fr.10.00 per glass... hurray what a deal.. one of them, a waiter, takes him by the shirt and locks him in the room, shame!!!!!!! From complaint!!!! But who do you think you are, terrible from every point of view... and if they were to answer I would like to know where you learned your trade. Remember that we are not tourists but we live here, we are Swiss and you should be ashamed! Avoid this place and don't give money to them!!!!!! Ahh...they also filmed...so privacy is questionable. It is full of places with qualified and above all polite staff in Lugano... but not this one, incompetent people! Drinks and location are good. However, the service is bad. I had a very unpleasant experience when I returned a dish - the waiter who presented himself as a 'director' (holding ultimate power) of the place became very agitated and rude. Very unprofessional. Of course, I had to pay for both dishes....the one I returned and the one I subsequently ordered.

I would describe it a upper price category place to have a good selection of drinks and vine a bit less option on food. The quality of food is good and same on drinks. Service is usually also good but I also had some unpleasant experience where we ordered a classic cocktail which was really not made well and when we pointed out to the waitress that it’s not tasting any good and some ingredients are missing she only said:”well I’m sorry about it.” For that price category it’s just not acceptable that tipe of service.

At Lino you will find the perfect environment to spend time in company; whether it's an aperitif, a dinner or a simple coffee, their menu offers many dishes from the region and beyond, the quality of the food in general is excellent. Very bad experience, rude staff, very high prices and extremely poor quality.

The ECB's incorrect version: A place that applies an exchange rate of 1 CHF = 0.91€ to its liking, despite the fact that the current rate is on the contrary favorable to the euro (1€ = 0.98 CHF); which is why they literally invented an appreciation of the Swiss currency when in reality it is depreciated compared to the euro. In any case, the incorrectness was not notifying the bill beforehand and directly communicating the amount in euros, increasing it by €20, as the figure in itself was already questionably high (9 CHF x 8 meatballs, therefore €72 worth of meatballs not meatballs and six sandwiches at 92 CHF, two of which had the wrong ingredients and all not fresh or appreciable at all). So the 164 francs magically became 180 euros. So if, once, a tourist happened to not have francs or a credit card with him, he would be destined to pay a surcharge for unknown reasons other than speculation dictated perhaps by inferiority complexes of his own currency.

TO AVOID After ordering the drink, within 15 minutes, we were asked to leave because we had finished the drink and to the question "do you still want anything else" we replied "not at the moment". We were truly speechless... I have never before been told to leave after consuming (and we are talking about literally 10/15 minutes after the drink was served to us). Apparently the grumpy and indifferent staff (really due to a lack of professionalism) is nothing new when reading the reviews. PLEASE AVOID

In this bar there is an obligation to consume for each person present at the table. Four of us decide to order two beers, a cocktail and a coffee; we were told that at that time coffee was no longer served (it was almost 6pm). Very strange, particularly for a bar located in the main square of Lugano. At that point, the fourth person at the table who had ordered coffee decides not to take anything. It's not possible, there is an obligation to consume, apparently for every person at the table. Truly absurd. If I had a stomach ache at that moment but still wanted to be at a table with other people, would I still be forced to order something? Very questionable practice as the rest of us ordered a cocktail and two beers anyway and the bar was semi-empty. Sin!

We arrived at around 4pm and we ordered two glasses of wine plus a mini platter (for a fee I was told). After half an hour we went inside because it was cold and when we ordered two more glasses they brought us without asking for the mini cutting board...when we asked for the aperitif time it is from 4.30pm to 8.00pm before you have to pay...it's not for the 8 fr but the usual "savoir faire" of certain waitresses who are too young or have no experience...I don't think that I'll be back

Beautiful place to enjoy a drink and appetizers, we went on Christmas eve and they only offered appetizers, we had shrimp tartare, beef tartare, ibérico and avocado toast with salmon, everything was so fresh. Service is top, highly recommended.

Small and intimate, perfect for having aperitifs and having a drink in company, background music that drowns out the voices, allowing the conversation to continue without interruptions or the need to raise the tone, which in other places often happens due to the loud music volume too high. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very varied drinks menu with a wide choice of gins, there is something for every taste and character. By choosing a gin drink you will see a glass with spherical ice arrive and apart from a bottle with the chosen drink and tonic water, the waiter then sprays an aromatic perfume on the drink which recalls the characteristics of the chosen gin. Very impactful and very good. Super recommended.

This is for sure not a customer-centric place. This is the place where you can easily find a rotten tomato on your plate. And even if you mention it in a polite manner, don't wait for any apologizes. Is it normal ?? As for me, it's clear - such case indicates to avoid visiting the place next time.

I had missed the bus, I didn't do it on purpose..., when I said that if they didn't suit me as a customer, I was I was told I could leave.
