Damla Bäckerei in Uster

I've driven past it so many times but never noticed that there was a bakery there. The place was recommended to me. You can't really see where the entrance is, the facade is straight and monotonous (thanks to our architects). The shop is inconspicuously located. Offer is good. Music was too loud at this point. I'd love to come back now that I know the place.

Agree the coffee is very good. The cappuccino is even lactose-free. The apple tart was also really good. The waitress doesn't care who comes first.😑

The quality of the baked goods is okay. Prices could be cheaper. But the benches are so scary. Almost disgusting. Totally broken like it came from the landfill. Bad conditions. But the operator doesn't seem to care. It's ok to take away, but it's better not to eat there.

6.60.- for a double is a disgrace! Not even on BHF Strasse in Zurich or the old town of Basel does a double cost that much...

Uncomfortable to sit in, both sliding doors open at this time of year, the cold is noticeable.

Waiting so long was unpleasant as a to-go customer

The shop opens at 6:30 a.m., but doesn't have fresh baked goods until 7:15 a.m. - that's what happens every day and then the worker still has to look for the rolls and croissants. Being prepared looks different. And always these plastic gloves that make people feel like they have a free pass for the whole day, touching boxes, accepting food, money, working the cash register. Hygienically an absolute no-go.

Good food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere

We were at the bakery yesterday (Sunday). What we encountered there was more than subterranean. I've been to this store several times (big fan of the strawberry tarts) but I will never go shopping there again. It's one thing that the staff was completely overwhelmed/ignorant. The hygienic conditions were much worse. Where we sat, the entire floor/table was full of breadcrumbs. The plate we were given for breakfast was dirty. The leather bench seat was completely frayed and best of all, the toilet was cleaned for the last time on Thursday (that's how it looked that our colleague couldn't even use the toilet there because he was so "horrified"). We're not coming anymore, it's a shame.

Unfortunately, the shortage of skilled workers is clearly noticeable here. Sales staff totally overwhelmed on Sunday morning. I was a customer here…not anymore. I now take the slightly longer route underfoot and go to Albert’s Bakery.

Good coffee and the pastries are not from bad parents

Bread good, a little more sourdough selection would be great! However: once again, at 8:30 a.m. nothing was written to me, no prices or product descriptions.

Delicious food. However, you should have some patience; the staff sometimes needs a moment longer. But very friendly.

The products are good. Nice selection of take-away food. If only it weren't for the exorbitant prices.

A very nice shop, it's also very pleasant and nice to sit outside. I recommend the homemade fruit juices, but the other homemade products are also great. A hot drink with pastries in the morning and pasta with pesto at lunchtime were excellent. The staff is very patient, I wish you a lot of love.

Breakfast is great, you can sit outside in the courtyard in summer, always very friendly. Whatever I've taken here so far has been very good.

Always everything at its best and excellent conditions

Products are good. Service is often overwhelmed and unfriendly. The customers bring you sales, a little more service orientation would help to sell good products better. Attacking a customer because he called the cheesecake a nibble is borderline. Some of the sellers don't even know their own products.

Bought a seemingly fresh braid and croissants today, unlike the ones I bought last, which were soggy and dry. Probably from yesterday, some information would have been helpful to avoid disappointment. Well, our baker will open again soon.

There is the delicious Illy Café here! But also delicious sweets! Visit it.

The braid by the meter is tasty, but the price is exorbitant! I paid 8.- for 400g.

The quality is unique. Artisanal baking at its finest. It is clearly different from the industrial mush. The salespeople are also professionals and always very friendly. ☺ 😊 😊 The lunch menu is very nice and of course the salad too. 👍 👍 👍

Miserable condition. No idea about prices and dirty. And last but not least, a 50 Fr fine if you park in front of the restaurant. The board in the picture isn't really legible.

Very friendly service, super fine braids, airy chocolate croissants, so it was really worth it to saddle up the bike this morning.

House bread 500g - is always clear underneath. I've pointed this out several times in the store. In my opinion, 464g is out of tolerance. Saved one loaf every 14?

Amesome bakery to pick up some breakfast

Ordered sandwiches and patisserie for a family celebration. Was ready to pick up on time and very nice.

Very friendly staff, large selection, everything fresh and lovingly prepared.

Parking space may only be occupied for 15 minutes. Other possibility underground parking. 1.90 high, not possible with a VW bus and SUP on top. No alternative was offered. I drove on.

Very good pretzel croissants with egg and bacon! Price/performance is okay. Good selection and a clean display. The service was friendly and prompt. Parking spaces in the underground car park take a lot of getting used to. (rather tight)

Unfortunately I had a bad experience, because of the Corona situation I had to wait outside (good and right) but other people were always served from other doors before me. But there is something nice to eat.

Friendly and committed staff and a very cozy atmosphere. Good selection of fine pastries and other delicacies. In summer you can also sit outside. Unfortunately the bakery is a bit “hidden” around the corner.

I have been a regular customer at this bakery for a long time (I come almost every day) and I am more than satisfied with the quality of the diverse offering. The employees in every position are super friendly and always in a good to very good mood. I can't understand some of the bad entries here and I think that they want to vent their frustration here. It is probably usually the case that the customer comes to the store in an unfriendly or bad mood and this turns things around. Always good, fresh and friendly

Mega delicious pretzel croissants and hamburgers. Beautifully and comfortably furnished. Enough space inside and outside. Good location near the train station. We recommend.

Prices are overpriced, other bakeries definitely have better braids, you rest on the quality of days gone by, some of the staff are completely unfriendly, slow and unmotivated, unfortunately it's also the deputy manager

Love this bakery. They sell different types of bread, cakes, sandwiches and salads. You can buy ready made food for lunch as well. You can eat breakfast too. Coffee is very good.

Basically a really nice bakery but inflexible, sometimes unmotivated employees. The overall concept is wrong! Example (and this is not a single one): We were there on a public holiday, the lunch menus for the next day were being prepared - clearly visible - in the kitchen, but when we asked, they didn't want to sell us any of the portions of spaghetti for a small child. Why is that? The answer was: “Hot food is not sold on public holidays. I can’t sell them the (note: already made spaghetti) otherwise everyone else will come too!” Boy oh boy...what on earth could be better than doing what ALL customers supposedly want!

Large selection of desserts and sweets. Smaller, good selection of menus and snacks for lunch. Rather expensive in terms of price.

The bakery is integrated into the basement of a building. The coffee shop is comfortably furnished, the prices are on the upper limit because they are self-service. In summer the inner courtyard can also be used and there is plenty of seating in the shade.
