Very welcoming restaurant, colorful cushions, excellent food, the owner was very kind and the service was excellent, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great atmosphere and you rarely receive such a friendly welcome. The host was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not always right.

My latest discovery! A friend took us to DEM Anatolian Restaurant. For me, this was a top spot in Basel! The food was sensational, see our meze mix and the grilled main course! Ohhh what can I say about the host, Mr Salmann was not only the host but also a sensational product connoisseur and advisor. We enjoyed every bite! This place is not overrated. Well deserved close to 5 stars for the super flavorous Mediterranean kitchen with kebabs, mezes and super refreshing salads. You won’t be disappointed but warning, this can become pricey when ordering small dishes to taste…

We planned a Christmas dinner at Dem in December 2023 with 18 guests and met with the boss twice for this purpose, notaben at night. Lunch, which we each paid for in full. The boss suggested a flat rate including drinks and dessert, which we discussed in detail and noted accordingly in the boss's agenda. The boss was there on the agreed evening, but our reservation was probably forgotten. He couldn't remember anything anymore. With a slightly sour tone, he put tables together and quickly had us prepare a meze buffet, which tasted okay. However, not everyone was full from the rather sparse buffet, which is why we asked for a few seconds (5 Adana Kebab and 2 Pide). The drink service was slow and there was a feeling that not too many drinks should go over the counter. When it came to dessert, the boss let us know that this was not included under any circumstances and that the buffet refill had to be paid at the à la carte price. The four scoops of chocolate ice cream ended up being on the house, but the buffet bonus was charged as announced. The evening was probably unsatisfactory for everyone involved and a reunion is almost certainly out of the question, especially since the à la carte prices in relation to the portion size cause a lack of understanding, even by Swiss standards - at least for us.

The food is simply incredibly good. The service is super friendly and they always ask how it tasted and whether you are satisfied. I love it. Only the room at the back could be modernized a bit. Some of the chairs are broken and it's not comfortable.

We visited with a local who kew the owner, and boy, you know when that happens, you're in for a treat. And indeed we had a tour through the most dilectible appetizers, teas, coffees, liquor, and of course the exquisite and satisfying lamb dishes. And how can we forget the ice cream and baklava desserts? Just delicious begins to end.

Thanks to a tip from friends, we spontaneously ate here a few days ago. Incredibly delicious food, freshly and lovingly prepared. Not overly seasoned so that you can taste the ingredients. Particularly worthy of mention is the courteous and friendly service, who advised us and were also happy to respond to special requests. You feel comfortable here and eat really good Anatolian food! So definitely try it out!!!

Unfortunately, we spent the day in the blazing sun. (The quality of my "mini chicken skewer" was good, but the quantity for that time was still +10.-- ...

The service was very kind and clearly enjoyed explaining the menu to us and giving recommendations. The food was quite good too but a few dishes did feel like they were a bit lacking. The hummus tasted very average and the grill plate we had was definitely missing some sort of sauce as it felt rather dry. The dolmas in the yoghurt sauce were absolutely delicious.

A very warm restaurant, from the food to the service, the furnishings also surprised us positively, which you wouldn't think at first. We had the vegetarian meze platter for 2 and were really full and happy with it. If you like good Anatolian food, you should go to Dem.

Celebrated my sister's birthday today with a cozy lunch. We were warmly welcomed by the boss. A look at the menu showed many good dishes, which didn't make the decision easy. Most of us ordered something with lamb and no one was disappointed. The service was friendly, but a bit slow at times due to the large crowds. We will definitely try the food and service again. We also really liked the ambience. CONCLUSION: Recommended.

As a Turkish person, I can only recommend - super tasty, nicely presented and friendly staff. Probably the best Anatolian food you can eat in Basel.

Although we weren't there, we had the food delivered to our home. The delivery was very quick and the food arrived warm. The food was very tasty, except for the falafel balls, which disappointed us a bit as they were rather bland and dry and had a very special taste, but the rest was great.

Had brunch at “Dem” today with 5 friends and it was fantastic! We decided on the variant where the entire table is set with Anatolian specialties and then everyone can enjoy everything. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. 10 out of 10! You definitely have to go there!
