Well... I thought with a lot of thoughts in my head when I decided to meet my colleague at the village pub in Rickenbach today. And I knew in advance when I studied the menu on the great website what my hunger and my heart desired today. I just had to convince my colleague of the fine piece of meat. First of all, I am thrilled with this small but nice restaurant in the heart of Rickenbach. I am rarely so enthusiastic about a restaurant that I visit for the first time. From the reception, through the support to taking the order, it was simply very accommodating and complete and authentic! I also felt very taken care of and comfortable due to the atmosphere and the very attentive service provided by the service staff. The menu offers something for every taste and the recommendation of the day was presented to us very charmingly. We decided against this one, but it was exactly right for our taste. The dishes were very nice from A to Z, tasted really great and were appetizingly prepared. The entrecôte (presented and carved at the table) was cooked to perfection, the vegetable side dish tasted unique and the potato fritters (never had them like this before) were excellent! The wine list suited our tastes very well and we also took this into account with one (two) bottles from Bolgheri. :-) I would particularly like to highlight the service in the village pub. We were served very warmly, authentically and attentively. We were also greeted and welcomed by the host couple. My conclusion from the whole evening: The village pub in Rickenbach is my insider tip and also my discovery in 2024. I don't want to compare the village pub with other restaurants of a supposedly different "level"... but To be honest, I have almost never experienced such a great level of hospitality, quality of food, great service and also a great ambience as in the Rickenbach village pub! We decided to have a small aperitif and dinner here after the civil wedding. We were separated from the other guests which we really liked, it was very private. What can we say! We were thrilled. We chose a cheese tasting as an aperitif and all the guests were thrilled. But it wasn't just the cheese that was convincing, but also the food. We received so many compliments from our family for the food but also for the ambience. Monika looked after us and came by several times to make sure we weren't missing anything. The whole team was very accommodating and friendly. The chefs and head chef Thomas are simply great and a great team.
