My friends and I visit Engadin Valley every year. Not once did we miss the chance to stop for lunch at Dorta restaurant! The food is great, the service is friendly and the owner is a great person, always happy to tell you the history of the place. If you want my recommendation, go with the traditional cheese fondue and you won't regret it!

The atmosphere is second to none in an old barn. The food, however, is reminiscent of military cuisine. Sandy salad. And despite having outstanding ingredients (lamb from an exceptional farm next door), it is prepared without any passion or flavour. It could be so much…. But the ready made style brown sauce was just awful. Good wine menu and excellent host though.

At first glance the atmosphere is welcoming. The service is rather busy and impersonal. The food on the otherhand, terrible. I hade the mixed salad and it was crunchy from the dirt not cleaned from it. My main was lamb. The lamb should have been excellent, sourced locally but it was terrible. Mundane sauce and I couldn't eat it. Sweet potatoes were the only things I could eat.

Best experience and moment of our stay in Graubünden. The setting and decoration of the place is magnificent and authentic. We ate the best fondue we have ever eaten there, very good, precisely calculated quantity, potatoes, bread, dried meat, everything was perfect. Dessert also, the carrot cake was delicious. All this in a very calm atmosphere with a small live duo who sang well-known songs, neither too loud nor too soft. We will come back for sure.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't really good for me. A “barley soup” which is more reminiscent of a boillon with garnish. Far away from a BÜNDNER BARLEY SOUP. For the main course, the meat kebab was more than just tough, and the spinach was also cold. Of course the food was exchanged. Afterwards the beef skewer was cooked through, the spiat was hot and the fries were light and no longer crispy. It's a shame and more than unworthy of the Dorta.

Honestly, the place is welcoming and the environment is very nice. This is what attracted us to the Gondolezza restaurant... even though I had seen some less than positive reviews. The staff is very kind and welcoming, however I must say that the dinner was absolutely not up to standard, or rather mediocre. My wife's strips with mushrooms were so salty that I couldn't eat them and the same for the potatoes. I pointed this out and the waitress immediately apologized, but she stopped there. Usually they say, shall I make him another one? or can I bring you something else? No! he just said he would point it out to the chef. The cheese in my spätzle was clotted, creating a blob that made it difficult to separate the bites. I had chosen them because my wife had eaten them at Hanselmann's for lunch and they were very good. The three fillets that were supposed to be medium rare were rare. Last but not least, the fondue... we took the traditional one because the menu didn't mention champagne or anything else. Good! It's a shame that no one warned us that the traditional one was also made with wine. The point is that seeing some kids at the table perhaps they should have said the dish was made with wine and that the flavor of the wine is very strong, maybe not everyone likes it... too bad! I conclude by saying that when you reach 80 euros per person without wine and spirits, having only taken 3 starters, 5 main courses and a dessert... what comes out of the kitchen must be checked and flawless and attention to detail present everywhere. Much to improve in the kitchen... the fact of being in St. Moritz does not justify these shortcomings given the prices of a luxury restaurant.

At midday and if the head chef is not there I recommend reducing the prices by 40% since a salad 32 chf nothing special and strips of veal with mushrooms small portion nothing special 48 chf seems really excessive one waiter comes in and it seems closed in short, it's sad, I understand that maybe in the evening and with the chef and more waiters the experience could be different but in my case even 2 stars I give three precisely because of the kindness of the girl who served me otherwise a disappointment

Unfortunately very disappointing! We expected something different from this restaurant. We had veal slices with rösti twice. The rösti was dry, had a strange taste, the vegetables were just pulled out of the water...everything was bland and had no taste. Missing decoration on the plate. Price-performance not met. We had a good meal there two years ago.

Absolutely perfect meal of traditional Engadine dishes- try the Zuozer Hay Soup (yes, it is actual soup of hay) which was delicious, fragrant and a new experience! The rosti was also amazing, even the standard kids meals were beautifully cooked. The service was excellent, our waiter went to extra trouble to entertain the kids with magic tricks and a secret door with a slide down to the cellar! The building has a fascinating history too - we felt like we had learned a lot about the history of Zuoz and the Engadine. Prices are as expected for the area but worth every penny.

We had a dinner reservation at 9pm and we had to wait one hour standing and another hour at the table to get some food. At the end it became a joke as there where so many empty tables and we were still waiting. Food is not incredible, only the place is nice. I am very sorry to write a bad review but being an Engadin lover I really don't think that this type of service should be present in this stunning area.

The location is great. The food is out of proportion to the price. There is no ice cream in the aperitifs, the salad dressing tastes the same as at Migros. The Rösti tastes like rancid butter. Vanilla sauce from the package. At Migros prices I would say ok.

Unfortunately a disappointment, both in terms of service and food. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost half an hour for our table. I worked in the catering industry myself, and guests forgive a lot if they are followed by at least an apology or a little something offered. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. At least our waitress at the table was friendly. It's great that there are vegan options on the menu, but unfortunately the dish was bland and dry. I've eaten better in canteens. It's a shame because the atmosphere is nice.

Great restaurant with nice rooms. There is a slide for children hidden in the bar. All the employees are very friendly and the quality of the food is very good. For me, Dorta is the price-performance winner in the Engadine. Great for the whole family.

Traditional restaurant with all wooden rooms. This applies only to the location. Once upon a time the waitresses wore typical Tyrolean clothes. The ownership has changed a couple of years ago, but fortunately Salu, the new Portuguese owner, has kept the original dishes and is a very good host. I wouldn't have thought it, but I was actually quite disappointed with our last visit to Dorta. The restaurant itself is a gem and in its uniqueness, I probably don't need to describe it. You won't find anything comparable up and down the Engadin so quickly. The ambience is very cozy, rustic and has a historical charm. I know Dorta from before, when the predecessors were inn. I don't want to compare the two operators, that's not necessary and doesn't help anyone. But I would like to honestly write down my impression. What I noticed when I made the reservation was that the man on the phone didn't speak to me for half a minute. My request for a more comfortable seating area was dismissed with a yes and then he hung up. The restaurant was almost empty. When we arrived, we waited at the entrance for over five minutes while the staff sidled past us. Sometimes without greeting and staring at the ground - ignoring us. After we finally sat down (not in a cozy corner, by the way, but at least at the edge) and were finally allowed to order a drink after another 7 minutes, we waited another 15 minutes for a beer and an Aperol Spritz. Mind you: the place was practically empty, it was only 7:30 p.m. What topped it all off was the wait for the starter. A family with lots of children and aunts, who obviously knew the operator, arrived at least 30 minutes after us and had already served their main course while we were still waiting for our salad. I'm not a fan of rushing around dinner and I like to take my time when I go out, but I still thought it was a little off how they kept us waiting so disinterestedly. The lack of attention continued throughout the evening. Wine was never refilled, water was never refilled or a new bottle was given, not to mention we were asked about our well-being or whether we needed anything else. The service staff behaved politely at the table and were nice, but it stayed that way. But I can't shake the thought; The team comes across as a bit arrogant and I once again regret that the previous warm, friendly, attentive, interested and talkative operators with their nice employees are gone. The food was reasonable and actually tasted very good. The venison schnitzel was a little too well done for my taste, but the spaetzle and vegetables were okay, although nothing special. The whole thing was presented, but quite attractively. The Capuns turned out to be a disappointment. Or rather, the oily cheese sauce they were swimming in. Unfortunately, this made the dish quite greasy and heavy. Maybe less would be more... For dessert we ordered a Toblerone mousse, which was really full-bodied and chocolaty. Actually to share, but a second spoon wasn't brought and we had to ask again. Unfortunately, we were served by about three different waiters throughout the evening. So they didn't know who had ordered what and you had to help so that you got the right thing. Conclusion: A bitter disappointment in terms of service and hospitality. Even if the quality of the food is good, it unfortunately doesn't impress with such high-level gourmet delights that would make up for the poor service... I'm grateful for the visit, because now I know that I won't be coming back. A pity...

Atypical place - very pleasant old barn setting, the old-fashioned stübli is a place of choice and recommended, upstairs with the miller's staircase is a very special location, but you have to be sober to go there and to go back down ;-) Rather regional cuisine for all tastes. Quality and presentation all ok. Knowing German or Italian will be an advantage :-)

The vegetables were prepared a bit carelessly, without olive oil and salt, and the vegetarian potato cake (or similar) was a bit bland in taste. The asparagus dish, on the other hand, tasted very tasty. Super nice, wind-protected sun terrace.

A hidden gem in the middle of the Swiss Alps! The setting is in an old barn, beautifully decorated with interesting ornaments and a secret slide to a super secret basement area. You are constantly bambared with little glimpses of the alps through the windows and wooden panels… what a joy! The food is tasteful cooked that compliments gorgeously with the local wine. At the end, the chestnut cake went down a treat! Not to be missed… try it and you’ll see.

Very special place... in a positive sense :-) The restaurant has many different rooms and niches. The passageways are sometimes very low... too low that you can accidentally bump into yourself because the upper door frame is at eye level... or even below :-) The food is excellent. The service was very friendly. The grappa selection is large.

There are restaurants where you will be greeted when you enter. Sometimes friendly, sometimes exuberant, sometimes rather cool. But the employees greet you. Then there are restaurants where guests who enter are simply ignored. Dorta is one of these restaurants. Well, we didn't want to be put off by the rather unwelcoming reception and sat down at the reserved table. After a few minutes we even received the menu and wine list. We knew quite quickly what we wanted, but that didn't help us much. We sat there for twenty minutes and waited for the waiter to come take our order or provide the promised answer to our question as to whether there was anything available inside. Finally my wife got tired of it and went into the house to make the waitress aware of our situation. But she didn't succeed. Even indoors, it was ignored by all service employees. We finally left quietly and ate at another restaurant in the village.
