Dupont - Brasserie & Bar in Zürich

Only thing cute here is the ambiance. The bartender came before we even sit and then it took them 20 mins to bring us drinks. 10 mins after that he showed up with a card machine and the bill without us even asking them… for 28 CHF for 2 glasses of wine we’ll go somewhere else

I was in this restaurant in December and I loved it. But today they totally shot the bird. Basically, the bar and restaurant are very nice. What just bothered me was the long waiting time and the food. Starter: My salad was soaked in salad dressing. The salad was also no longer completely fresh. You could taste and feel it. Main course: My mashed potatoes along with the beef cheeks were swimming in fat. You could tell that the cook had taken the remaining fat from frying the vegetables and simply poured it over it. Really a shame about the expensive meat. Dessert: The tarte fine aux fries with vanilla ice cream was rock hard and still partially frozen. It should be slightly warm. In short, a complete disappointment.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had! Etape: I preferred to stay inside as it was quieter, I ask for a glass of champagne, I was offered the menu but I wasn't hungry. I ask after the waiters have passed more than 8 times looking near me, but trying to avoid me with their eyes, then I have another glass next to me and I asked for the menu to eat, I felt like eating. From this point forward it is the declination of what one can expect from a restaurant. After searching more than 10 times several waitresses avoided looking at me and asking me what I wanted. A waitress asked what I wanted and I said the bill I couldn't take any more. The room was quite empty and they had a lot to do on the terrace. Incredible: A waitress came in and after she had brought 10 Aperol spritzes she made fun of the customers and when talking to her colleges that he/she complained about the service. The kitchen is open and from where I was sitting the cooks/helpers said F....ck Man... thank goodness it's a Cool restaurant and not a dump. Then I paid and left, paying 40 CHF for 2 glasses of champagne, all classic for Zurich. Then I hear a gentleman behind me who runs after me asking if I paid and if I was leaving without paying and I am shocked by the whole terrace and the people who were looking at me. I turned around and asked? SORRY... I felt ashamed in front of everyone looking at me and I asked him to ask his colleague who was 5 meters away from us if I had paid? And he left... the waitress said she will ask for the contract to be canceled due to these disorganisations 😶 He went back inside the restaurant, he didn't even apologize to me. I went back to him and said the least she owes me is her apology. Place and staff without qualifications and not for Zurich...

Not recommended! Service was really bad and disrespectful. When contacting the manager it didn’t help. Good quality is low, too salty. Manure in English is not well translated.

In January 2024 we were able to provide musical accompaniment to a company party with our party band pianobeat.ch. Beautiful event location! Perfect for corporate events and birthdays. Friendly and good cooperation with the staff and delicious food.

I went there for a business lunch and in general I felt that this is a good restaurant the food was delicious and the location is close to the main station which was convenient. The only thing that was a bit disturbing was that the waiter took plates and glasses that we didn’t use away the whole time and this kind of interrupted the flow of our conversation. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

I’ve been going to DuPont for years and have finally made the decision to never go again. The service is far too inconsistent. Some good experiences but mainly bad experiences due to the rudeness of the staff. The barman with the long beard is the rudest waiter I’ve ever come across in Switzerland. The manager (guy with a blazer) is nice it seems depending on the weather. There used to be a lovely Turkish girl who was great and there is currently a young man (also with a beard) who is lovely but outside of these two people the staff generally lack customer service skills. Ignoring customers, almost arguing when things don’t go well. It’s a shame because the food and the ambiance are nice. Hopefully the owner sees this and makes some improvements amongst the staff.

I had a fantastic experience at this bar. The atmosphere, the taste of the drinks, and the quality of service were truly commendable. I will definitely visit again

The brunch/breakfast was unfortunately disappointing. The price/performance ratio is not right at all. For one Egg Dupont (Fr. 16.-) you get a mini dish that won't leave you full for a long time. For the bread basket, confit, butter, etc. must be ordered separately. The brunch concept here definitely needs to be rethought, especially since hardly anyone else was there for brunch on Sunday. Otherwise always satisfied with the Dupont.

Ok, but not anymore. Moules et frites watery, cool and without taste, fries and burgers dry, the latter covered in run-of-the-mill sauce. For an aperitif, burger, water and coffee 64chf was paid. The table was very small and there wasn't enough space between the tables for the size of the restaurant. You hear the entire foreign conversation. At least until 9 p.m., after that the music gets louder and louder.

Solid cuisine and friendly service at Zurich prices. Ambiance is industrial and a bit dark. Background music a bit monotonous. Short waiting times, fast, friendly service (several people are involved, which requires several questions and corrections). All in all pleasant but not wow.

We had both the lunch menu I (thai curry) and really enjoyed it. The price of the lunch menu (3 courses) was actually pretty fair for Zurich. The service was great and the atmosphere as well. We both enjoyed the lunch and thus 5*.

Dupont is a nice location, but the employees are a disaster! There were 4 or 5 staff on site and only a maximum of 10 guests, so it was pretty empty. The employees preferred to talk among themselves rather than serve the guests. After 30 minutes of waiting I didn't even get my drink and left the restaurant, which in my opinion is a huge disgrace. For me, definitely never again.

NO HOSPITALITY! All the service employees who work there probably don't know the word "hospitality". We find no greeting, no smile and only ignorance in this restaurant. If you want to order a drink and ask 3 times if you can order now, you will only be answered with “please wait”. The Prosecco we ordered was not fresh, so I suggested that we serve a new one. the second one wasn't fresh either. I returned the second one. I then ordered an Aperol Spritz. It was bland, more mineral than Aperol! When we were finally served after 40 minutes and were “allowed” to order the food, I was disappointed because the food was served cold. the restaurant wasn't full and they weren't stressed! the employees take very poor care of the guests and their needs. If you want to order drinks, they aren't there or you are simply ignored. Towards the end of the evening, a waitress was so clumsy and threw the candle right at me. my expensive shoes and dress were ruined! It's hard to keep candle wax away from expensive clothes! I was so angry, especially because the waitress didn't apologize to me! Brasserie Dupont is a nice location, but the employees are a miserable disaster!

Top food, good service and beautiful location.

I do not recommend a restaurant in Zurich, Switzerland. The prices are very high compared to the food. It is located in the center of the Ruby Mimi Hotel, which is our residence in Zurich. If you are very hungry and there are no options, you can go to it 😁😁 As for the presence of options, I do not recommend it.

We arrived at around 2 p.m. and sat at the large bar right at the entrance. Although several employees were doing something at the cash register directly in front of us, walking past us, coming and going again, we were neither noticed nor greeted or served in any way. A rogue would say you are being ignored on purpose. After about 10 to 15 minutes we left again. Since there was no interaction or service, nothing can be said about the content. But I definitely wouldn't come back.

We dined here with a group of 7 for lunch and had a fantastic experience. The ambiance was lovely, and the staff was very welcoming. The food was delicious, and they even accommodated a special request for a vegan pizza with extra mushrooms, though they didn't inform us about the additional cost. We also asked for two spoons for sharing a dessert, but instead, they brought us two separate desserts and charged us for both. It would have been better if they had notified us about the extra charges. This is the reason for deducting one point from the service rating.

It's unusual for me to be happy about the food and the service in a restaurant in Zurich. Nice atmosphere, and the dishes of everyone I sat with at the table (mine included) were very good. Prices are reasonable given the quality, and of course, given that we are in Zurich. I recommend!

Ate there on Saturday evening (4 people). Atmosphere very nice, welcome staff very interested. Food very tasty - well cooked! Portion sizes are rather small to medium. Prices are rather high - if I now compare them with an armory cellar - too high. When we had eaten (the restaurant was about 60-70% full) suddenly no one came from the service. We felt a bit left alone. We had to actively request repeat orders such as dessert. Even when I wanted to get the bill, there was no service in sight for about 5-10 minutes. However, we do not suspect a lack of service here, but rather additional tasks for the staff, which limit service operations. Things are getting better... What a shame...

We really like it at the Dupont. The lunch menu today, including the seasonal game plate, were both great. The crew is attentive and authentically friendly. We really like the design and interior of the Dupont brasserie. It's definitely worth a visit. Or like with us...again and again.

Am not a fan of the music in large restaurants, I get why they have it, but find it grating! I don't want to linger, just order-eat-leave. The food was OK, but nothing special, as is the custom in Zurich, overpriced. Service was friendly.

Very cool place with a small menu, tasty food and good service

The four of us went to Du Pont last night around 10 p.m. to have a drink. When you enter you walk straight towards the bar, the two bartenders saw us, but no greeting, nothing. A table for four was no longer available, so we approached an employee who didn't help us look. The entire restaurant part was empty, but she said we should look in the bar part. We then left and consumed the 12 (!) drinks somewhere else. It's a shame, that's not hospitality.

We had a good dinner and it was convenient. Nothing special. A bit over priced.

Excellent service with unique food is obviously not a wish list at Dupont but rather an integral part of the offer. I can only recommend the brasserie, by the way the Merlot Bianco tasted excellent and went well.

Ambiance is ok but service organization customer service is outrageous I had a table reservation for two when I was there I was ignored once until I went up to someone. They told me to wait. After a few minutes I had to run after him in confusion. I found the reservation card and not one colleague was in front of me. There was the gentleman They also didn't know which table they were reserving for me. By chance they wanted to sit me down somewhere even though I called and made the reservation. They didn't understand German either until I found the table myself after going back and forth where my colleague had seen it in the middle of Zurich really questionable in a restaurant

Great food and seating possibilities, with nice weather you can sit outside. Inside you have an open space concept that doesn't feel loud and also the music in the background is not too loud. Place to go! Side note: it is a little bit more on the expensive end of the scale, but you get what you pay for. Service could be a little bit better, especially for ordering drinks, sometimes you have to wait a while until you can place your order.

Great restaurant, just a few minutes walk between the main train station and the Urania car park Delicious dishes - also some vegetarian 😉 I can only recommend Pizza Giulia - simply without cheese The service was very nice and the ambience outside was pleasantly cool under the trees, even at +30° Always my pleasure !

Nice location, very very expensive, slow and non-vigilant employees. There is an employee there, I wouldn't hire him if he worked for free, you can't get more unfriendly than that. He should go back to where he came from.

A lovely address just a stone's throw from Zurich central station. In summer, the shaded terrace is very pleasant. The service is friendly and attentive and the food is good, although a little expensive like most places in the city unfortunately. Great discovery.

Horrible service! We got to the restaurant for dinner and the staff seemed to be unwilling & kind of had no motivation to serve us. We were given conflicting info about the kitchen closure by the staff. I would rate the service as zero. The food quality was good (we had pizza) and therefore my rate of 3. We will not come back here.

The food is fine but the lady who served us had such a rude attitude that ruined the whole experience. The restaurant is open till 11pm. We were at the restaurant at 9:45 and were welcomed in by the hostess but the server stared at us in such a rude and unwelcoming manner.

I recently visited this establishment and ordered two drinks along with a plate of food. Unfortunately, the service was not up to par as one drink arrived after a 10-minute and the second one after a 5-minute delay. After waiting for an additional 15 minutes, we had to inquire about our food, and when it did arrive, it was missing the radishes. After requesting them, it took an additional minute for them to be served. While I appreciated the eventual resolution of the issue, the delay and confusion made for a less-than-ideal dining experience. Timely service is an essential aspect of any restaurant, and I was disappointed by the lack of it on this occasion. Overall, I hope the staff will take this feedback seriously and work to improve their service to provide a better experience for future customers

Completely overpriced. Even for Zurich. 5.30 CHF for an espresso 6.6 CHF for a small (2.5dl) beer. It makes you wish the “Movies” were back.
