Le Relais de l'Entrecote in Zürich

During the first serving, the meat was really too cold. After we reported it to the friendly waitress, they took it away and we were given new plates. The atmosphere and staff are excellent, just like our favourite Relais where we always go in Paris, but it is a point of attention for the chef to make sure the food is definitely hot enough when it comes out of the kitchen!!

They only serve one salad and one main dish. Excellent service, large portions. When you think you've eaten everything, a waitress approaches you and refills your plate 😁

Food is not worth the price, it’s not good and worth the hype. The sauce looks bad and price here compared to France is ridiculous. It was empty no wonder.

Absolutely the best steak restaurant in Zurich. Fantastic sauce and meat and great salad. The staff is wonderful, it’s always a pleasure to come here. Highly recommended for anyone who loves steak.

Interesting to have a steak and frites in central Zurich. If you’ve experienced the original Parisian restaurant then you’ll know. If you’re craving for steak and chips but without the atmosphere and the real sauce then this place is not bad! Service was impeccable.

After we tested the restaurant in Geneva we had to go back to Zurich. The restaurant is located in the heart of the old town and is beautifully and invitingly furnished. You are greeted warmly and despite it being rush hour and without a reservation, we were given a table straight away. There were server-like tablecloths on the tables, which unfortunately ruined the high-quality ambience. The service was great and the waitress was very attentive. First you get a starter salad and then 2 rounds of entrecote with fries before you can choose something from the diverse desert menu. You definitely have to try it out!

The meat was very tender and of good quality. Very large selection of desserts.

My husband and I came to this place by chance, but we were lucky, everything was very tasty and the waiters were very nice. At the end of our trip we returned again and everything was wonderful, very tasty steaks and creme brulee.

Mega fine food, traditionally French. Mishka was very nice and served us extremely well, thank you again!

Paris’ Le Relais de l’entrecôte is iconic. The Zurich restaurant is their weakest location. The Italian staff had difficulty communicating in English and French. They were very inattentive and served our entrecôte cold. The staff have not been trained and this location is a stain on the entrecôte brand.

Me and my friend had a quick lunch and decided to go for the advertised menu. Of course we had entrecote with french fries. The meat was presented with this delicious herby sauce. I really liked that we were given 2 smaller portions instead of 1 big portion. This kept the meat warm and soft, same with the fries. Before the main dish we were presented with a small salad, and as dessert we went with the Dougie balls filled with vanilla ice cream, drenched in chocolate sauce. The food was good, but the service was perfect. The lady who served us was honest, she took her time, she was able to crack a joke and have a laugh, she made us feel at home. Yet, stayed professional and could answer all my tourist questions. Chapeau! A bit pricey, but then again, you are in central Zurich in Switzerland, everything will be pricey. Would recommend

This company should train the service staff in German and specialist knowledge of Swiss gastronomy. We didn't receive a menu (declaration law) upon arrival, unfortunately only a drinks menu. The service staff then made us wait for a long time and served the tables next to us. When we asked for the menu she replied in broken English that there was only one menu. She didn't want to or couldn't speak German. The customer's request for a menu was not brought to us or implemented. She tried to explain the only menu in broken English. It's a shame, such a nice company. As an owner, I would not skimp on qualified service staff (first impression, increased sales thanks to additional sales, good Google reviews and positive word of mouth would increase sales without additional, expensive sales promotion measures).

Fast processing that is absolutely not recommended. As soon as you sit down somewhere in a loveless hall, you have to communicate in foreign languages. The menu is almost thrown at you and the wine list has items that are suddenly not available... The meat is so-so, but the fries and sauce are very good. We skipped dessert for the reasons mentioned. We definitely cannot recommend the restaurant!

Too average taste for a steak after all that fuss. Terrible waiting, The waitress was in such a rush that she spilled the wine and water twice. They charged us for tap water!!! CHF 5. Next door has the best food in that area.

The food is great, the atmosphere is amazing, definitely recommended.

The entrecôte is mediocre. The quality of meat is quite good but the café de paris sauce is sub par to other entrecôte places in Zurich. The service was friendly but terribly overworked and understaffed. The chips were crunchy but very oily too. The peice for two entrecote, 2 aperol spritz and a water was CHF152.- which, for the quality of the dish is no good.

Cannot get much worse… after being seated, we tried for way over 20 minutes to get any attention at all - without success. No menu, no water, nothing. We left and went somewhere else for our dinner.

À very singular offering as there are no choices for the main dish. You get a little green salad and then you get served a portion of french fries and what seems to be half a portion of entrecôte. I was very surprised, because I thought it was a too little meat, but it actually is just half a portion. Once you're done with the first serving, they come back and serve you another half with more fries. The entrecôte comes with a green butter sauce, which is quite tasty and it can be ordered rarely, medium or well done. There is no in between, I tried ordering "medium plus", but they told me they can't do that, which is weird for a meat restaurant. Anyways, since it already comes sliced, medium is already good enough. The quantity (after the 2nd serving) is enough to be satisfied but not super full. It isn't high end dinning, but it's good quality/price relationship. The service is ok, not good, not bad... Even though they had the tendency to interrupt me when I wanted to explain or ask something, which I've experienced in Switzerland quite often (unfortunately). They don't take reservations for 2 people, you can just walk in, for other numbres, better call and book a table. I didn't try the desserts, but they all look really nice. The place isn't accessible with wheelchair, as there are 3 steps at the entrance.

Much too small plates for the main course. The sauce was not carefully poured over the meat, notabene at the table, so the tablecloth was splattered everywhere. The meat was not to my liking. The fries were good. It's a shame for such a high price.

One thing in advance: the food is ok/good (but nothing more), BUT: 1. do not have children's portions 2. Staff don't know whether this super secret sauce recipe has alcohol in it or not, otherwise the staff tried hard, but the restaurant was very full, so you have to wait sometimes 3. no matter how good the sauce is, I want fries that are too dry, ketchup and mayo. The shed isn't so elegant that the lack of mayo and ketchup is excusable. This is snobbery from a place that serves simple food. 4. Of course, don't take Amex (that suits the owner's behavior perfectly) 5. The Amex fees are too high for the owner, but he apparently thinks it's completely okay to charge 45 francs even for a child, even if you have to throw away half the entrecote afterwards 6. For some reason the internet reception in the restaurant is a disaster Been there once and definitely never again.

The meat was excellent and the secret sauce always leaves the same unforgettable memory 😊 However, I must note some small drawbacks...The meat serving dishes with the candles...must be left on the table for the customer to reserve themselves. The meat portions are also less generous than what we are used to in other steak restaurants. Other than that, I highly recommend going there. I really liked that the tradition of entrecôte relays is respected in the Zurich restaurant… that is to say that in this restaurant you cannot make reservations! I find it good, it’s the spontaneity that many other restaurants in Zurich lack. I love this bistro spirit.

The food was fantastic and the service kind and accommodating. I was quite surprised however that they didn't offer medium rare steak. Only rare or medium. The fries and the salad was delicious too. Certainly a great place to go for a classic French steak. The restaurant can get a little noisy though in the later hours of the evening as the place fills up. All in all We had a fantastic evening here and will certainly be coming back.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Le Relais de l'Entrecote in Zurich and sample their renowned steak. I must say, the steak itself was a delight – incredibly tender, juicy, and undeniably delicious. As a fan of fries, the sight of my plate brimming with them was nothing short of heavenly. However, I do have a minor critique regarding the meal. Both the steak and the fries appeared to be a touch saltier than my palate prefers. Nonetheless, I appreciate the overall dining experience, and the quality of the steak certainly left a positive impression. Best regards,

We came across this restaurant by chance and were surprised that there was no choice of dishes. But the menu was okay and so was the wine list. Finally we had a good dinner at a fair price for Zurich! The service was friendly and, although we had only been in Switzerland for a short time, they tried to ensure good communication.

I went to dinner yesterday with my partner, excellent food, the girls who served us were really kind and helpful. I highly recommend it if you go on holiday to Zurich you have to stop by.

For a bit more than 50 chf, a salad, a wonderful meat, served twice with delicious fries. Friendly staff, greeting you in French but speaking perfectly German and English. An amazing formula, mastered as much in Zurich as it is in France.

I've always wanted to try this entrecôte, but I didn't know that the restaurant also existed in Zurich! I only knew it from Paris. The food is great, there is « only » one choice for the main course (entrecôte of course) but that's exactly the point. The meat is great and so is the sauce. The dessert selection is the highlight!

This is one of the best intercote steaks I had, wonderful classy service, good value for money. Definitely will always come again whenever I visit Zurich. Well done

Appalling management at this restaurant. The way they treat their staff in front of customers is absolutely disgusting! Yelling at them in front of customers, telling them how bad they are to the point of making them cry is terrible. They should be ashamed of themselves.

For the price and this location I would have expected something completely different. Meat was ok, but I've often eaten better entrecote. Fries were thin, oily, hard pieces, inedible. Salad was also somehow bland. There isn't anything else to choose from. Desserts were good. But it's definitely not worth the price. I wouldn't go again, even if it cost less.

Average French restaurant, atmosphere inside a bit below par with hotel bathroom style lighting The staff welcomes you in overly French accent but then when I couldn't decipher some word in the handwritten, scanned and pixel printed menu, was told that neither spoke french in a super polish accent. Made my day CHF 90 for two servings of steak and fries, with salad, wine and apéro, so not too bad!

Just ok. The lettuce at the front had brown spots and some of it was completely dead. The entrecote was on point, the sauce was indefinable. The MCD fries (in my opinion) thin and crispy. The house Merlot was surprisingly good.

Overall amazing experience here. Super friendly service, the food (and especially the sauce) was delicious, served in 2 portions as if you were eating at home. Desserts are also very very good!

Just specify how cooked you like the steak, enjoy the small salad served as appetizer and relax. Joy will soon get your first half of the meal, with a tender entrecôte in abundant cafe’ de paris sauce and fries. If you like it… just get prepared for the second half, with same quantity of entrecôte , sauce and fries. Delicious, even if quality of the meat can differ (my first one was much better and tender than the second, a bit chewy). Service is pretty fast. Atmosphere is cozy, either inside but also outside (the street is very close to Paradeplatz, the hart of the Zurich business). No recommendation in wines, even if the choice is fair. Price, in line with Zurich standards.
