I have been here multiple times now and I have to revise my review. I have found the quality of the food has diminished and the portions getting ever smaller. Service and atmosphere are always great, but paying this amount of money for extremely small tacos, it’s becoming harder to justify.

Delicious food and very friendly people!

This restaurant has great reviews, and is busy and with a good location, but sadly we had a different experience. Whilst service was quick and friendly, the food, barring the guacamole, was really disappointing. One of the two didn't eat anything except the guacamole because of the smell of the fish and the beef tacos. Our chicken taco never arrived. The quesadilla was a small taco with what seemed like a very thin omelette in the middle. Wine was served in a chilled metal goblet that had a metallic taste. When seeing food left on our plates, staff drew conclusions we had filled our stomach with guacamole. We then got the wrong bill but this was quickly rectified by staff. Really disappointing experience as we had looked forward to such a good Mexican meal.

Excellent food, very nice place, the best Mexican I have ever had here in Gin I recommend it 200% and the waiters speak 3 languages ​​to be able to serve you better.

Excellent experience! The food was delicious, the portions small enough to allow you to taste lots of flavors, without being stingy. Special mention for the bartender, Enzo, who came to present his menu and his surprising and excellent cocktails! Very friendly and open to discussion, good advice. Thanks Enzo :)

Very good food and service! The best Mexican restaurant I have tried in Europe

A pure scam. A Taco at 7chf each all the same! The main dishes, at around 30 chf, are microscopic, fit on just one medium plate. No burrito on the menu. A height for a Mexican restaurant. The menu and drinks are messy, laminated of course, but all dirty on an A4 page, English or French. Male eaters or good eaters, this is not the place to come to this Mexican. Girls weighing 50-60 kg expressed: “It’s not very filling.” A plus: the decor is pretty. Unfortunately we come to eat, not to visit like in a museum.

Rating based on friends who dined there. It was closed on my Tuesday visit. I spoke with the chef who was there. I look forward to dining in person later this week.

Amazing place, great service, Jennifer and Ari were very kind and helpful with order recommendations and on accidentally getting the wrong order replaced it for us. The guacamole and sweet potato taquitos dorado is a must try.

Nice place, well decorated but too noisy for me. Impossible to talk to each other without shouting. The kitchen is ok. The service is very good. Lots of people for a Friday evening. It is better to book. Drink prices are high: for a classic Margerita, it costs 17 chf. I don't think I'll come back

Very beautiful restaurant with decorations thought out to the smallest detail. The food is original and the cocktails are excellent even without alcohol. To book because there are a lot of people! The service was a little less appreciable because when many customers arrived we had to wait for the drinks and ask for them several times but this did not detract from our wonderful evening in this restaurant. Very well advised by the staff for the choice of meals, do not hesitate to ask.

I'm Mexican and I highly recommend this place. The dishes are very similar to Mexican cuisine. Top service, very friendly waiters, especially Miguel and Vicente. I go there often and everyone is great and the food is delicious.

The agaveria cocteles are absolutely worth discovering. I loved the Jamaican sour. The bartender is amazing ❤️

Very good restaurant with top service and very friendly waiters, the decoration is magnificent and the food even more so. The drinks are delicious (I recommend the rice and cinnamon one) Very good value for money, it can be difficult to find without maps but other than that it was perfect. They also offer brunches

I found this gem of a restaurant in Geneva. I was already fascinated by eating some real tacos 🌮 but in addition to the extraordinary flavor, the kindness and closeness of everyone made me experience what I had in no other restaurant far from my homeland. 🇲🇽

We really enjoyed going to El Catrin for dinner. It is advised that you book in advance because the place can be very busy for dinner. Between two of us we got 3 entrées and 4 tacos and we're both left full. We also got two drinks from the varied menu - ask your server if you are looking for a particular flavour as some drinks are more bitter and some sweet. There were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options too. I particularly liked the Guacamole and the Esquites to start (though I wish we had more corn chips to scoop the sweetcorn into!) and the Tinga Carrot taco was good. I would recommend this place if you are looking for Mexican food.

Unique place in Lausanne in the historical site of the “Lausanne-Moudon”. Happy to see something like this in Lausanne. We tend to have too many Telmex restaurant. One criticism is that the food quality can dramatically vary from time to time. Otherwise, great!

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Geneva, El Catrin has tripled its size in 5 years and right now it may be just too big for its own good. The service is friendly, the food is tasty, but the portions could be larger for the relatively high prices they charge. For example, margaritas, which cost 17 CHF, could be bigger, or the price should go down.

Been coming here for years! Delicious, authentic, friendly. Recommend reserving a table two days before, especially on weekends and/or during the summer! It’s very popular.

We ordered several different dishes and they were all not good. There were 18 of us at the table and we all had the same opinion. Small quantities and high price. In terms of atmosphere, I liked it.

I went there for a birthday and we had to take a shared menu due to the number of people at our table. The service was slow and I found it limiting to pay 36 francs for a menu to share my starter with someone else. In addition, the tacos were not good, some were dry and cold...Only positive point, the drinks were good (Horchata and Agua de limon). I still wish good luck at the restaurant!

Margaritas are on point! Great drink options and nice space. For Geneva, these are great tacos. Enjoyed the 4 taco "tasting menu" and was full after eating them. They're a cross between a street taco and regular taco but have good flavor and quality ingredients. Salsas are ok and guacamole was not bad. The chips leave a bit to be desired but overall a great alternative to Geneva dining. Prices are Geneva prices, but was still able to leave satisfied. Note if this was in the US I'd still give it 3 to 4 stars for the flavors and quality of the food.

I am always wary to try Mexican food in Switzerland. Being from Southern California, I have high standards for Mexican food. So when I say this is the best place I’ve tried in all of Europe, I don’t say it lightly. The food was well seasoned with spices that are actually Mexican— a nice change from other “Mexican” restaurants. I especially enjoyed the sweet potato rolled tacos (taquitos) and the street corn. The carrot taco was well seasoned and the salsas were fantastic— they are actually spicy! I had an amazing cocktail and overall the atmosphere was both fun and authentic. I will definitely be returning!

The restaurant was an amazing find, tucked away near cornavin, I didn't expect the Mexican canteen vibes. It was so much larger than I expected with a great ambiance and amazing food! The birria and the tres leches cake is a must have when you visit! To top it all off, the live performance was just amazing, I really enjoyed my night here and will visit again many times.

Friendly place, smiling staff, good food but the small size of the tacos, quesadilla, etc. makes the menu relatively expensive.

More canteen than restaurant. Regarding margaritas, it borders on the ridiculous because it's so far from a real margarita (unless you like syrup and mint...) Burnt and limp nachos, equally soggy but equally tasteless tacos and cold quesadillas. For the latter, they returned to the kitchen but never came back (apart from the bill of course). Boss absent so we talked about it with the waiters but obviously the margaritas are "to each their own" and the rest is "yes but we are always full"... Beautiful spirit, continue...!

Total disappointment...the tortillas are soggy, the margarita is a kind of sweet granita, the quesadilla cold, lousy service...basically disgusting....never again
