El Torito in Bubikon

Everything used to be great with the other boss, but since we took over things have gotten worse and worse.

I give it one star because I can't give it a 0. I worked at this restaurant and personally wouldn't eat anything from this bar. Major hygiene deficiencies, cooking without gloves, touching food with dirty hands, a lot of cross-contamination among people with allergies... Other than that, the working conditions were terrible, I went to work for two days and he didn't pay me. It is unfortunate that these situations still exist in the hospitality industry at this time.

The food came an hour late, and in terms of taste and appearance it corresponded to the poor service of the restaurant. The highlight of the meal is an upset stomach!

NO DELIVERY, ARROGANCE IN CONTACT

Had burrittos that were very large and tasty, always a pleasure.

I placed an order for my wife at 2:15pm today for 5:45pm as I have to work late today. I wanted to give her a sweet surprise so she didn't know about it. However, the order came 45 minutes late, as I saw on the eat.ch app. My wife then called me and at first she was grateful, but also very angry because the courier was extremely disrespectful. He called me at 6:20 p.m. and since I was at work, I didn't see the call. He also put the food on the floor and left. It seems he had no respect for women. That's why I will never order food here again. The food may be tasty, but if such couriers work here, they shouldn't deliver.

Order took over one hour to arrive, burrito without rice in it ? Besides the sauce was dripping out of the box. Taco was soft and not tasty at all.

Supper service, the supplier was very nice and accommodating! The burger tasted good but the meat was a bit too dry with the large bread on top making it too dry. Otherwise it's a great price and not too expensive.

Late delivery times, without notice. Staff not exactly polite. But food is edible, let's put it that way.

the mexican food part was fantastic! the side salade was with standard convince sauce with the typical stabilizer flavor. the owner was very sorry when we told him the salade was not the best and he offered a delicious panna cotta. he said it was an exception. Normally, he has self-made sauce.

Burrito was great, has a lot of chicken and also a LOT of zucchini - that was weird… I missed the red kidney beans 🫘 I got to eat 3 - that’s sad! So I’ll say it’s whatever else except for burrito. It’s just not a traditional recipe.

Catastrophic, more than 2 hours to be delivered instead of 30 minutes announced. Rude person on the phone, no way to get a refund, in short, I strongly advise against it!

Huge portions, tasty food, not at all spicy though. That's why I'm deducting one ⭐. When I cook Mexican food at home, it's spicy, this is very atoned, for the Swiss pallet. The owner is friendly enough and he's the only server. I suspect that he's the only cook, too. But maybe I'm wrong. This is a place that mostly lives on delivery & takeout, so we were alone on a Friday evening. It suited us, we didn't want a crowd. The interior is alright, some decorations to suit the theme. We could only eat half a portion each, and took the rest home. So the portion size is definitely worth the price (2 meals in 1, basically). We might order for delivery next time around, but we will eat food from here again for sure.

After a rather disappointing first visit, I wanted to give the restaurant another chance for lunch. However, they were rudely sent out of the completely empty restaurant because a dog is not welcome, which was absolutely no problem on the first visit. After the food was nothing the first time, the host has now also turned out to be a failure.

We ordered the food for the 2nd time. Everything was wonderful and on time - I only have to mention one big negative point: The nachos cost 10.50 CHF and are nothing more than 2 handfuls of nachos chips bare in a plastic box. For the price I would have expected them to at least be gratinated with cheese or something. The other dishes were delicious and, like last time, more than enough (-:

We waited over 1.5 hours. Wrong food delivery, and cold. I specified the zip code and city when ordering, but they still went wrong. Was not apologetic and insisted on delivery and full price. Unfortunately I won't be ordering from there anymore.

Amazing and tasty food, very speed delivery

Unfortunately, a very disappointing answer on the phone after we had already waited and asked for 1 3/4 hours via justeat. No apology, nothing. “We are only human.” “You are welcome to cancel if you no longer want the food.” “We have nothing to do with the time information at justeat. They wrote it themselves.” —-> where can you find something like that? I'm shocked. The food is still not there after almost 2 hours.

Ordered for the first time today! Very very tasty, the delivery person was also very friendly! Gladly again.

We were in the restaurant ourselves and now also ordered via Just Eat. The food was cooked very warm and everything tasted great. The prices are reasonable. Unfortunately it took a little longer, but it was also on a Saturday.

We were at El Torito in Bubikon last night (Sunday, May 8, 2022), We only liked it moderately: Location: ** Unfortunately on the ground floor of an industrial district, not very inviting, view of ventilation pipes, respectively. no view at all. (Unfortunately, if you're unfamiliar with the area, you'll only see this clearly when you're already there), there are few parking spaces in front of the building, Furnishings: *** Basically very nicely furnished, they try to give a bit of a Mexican flair. It seems a bit cool. Toilets can be found in the basement. Corridors and furnishings kept careless, no lighting concept, light sources sometimes neon, sometimes halogen, different white-yellow colors, light in the men's toilet very inadequate, no towel roll available, toilet doors close inadequately. Kitchen: *** We ordered El Torito Chimichanga as a starter and fajitas as our main course. The El Torito Chimichanga were very tasty, gratinated with cheese. TOP! The fajitas were different, the meat was well done and the taste was okay, but not amazing, the salad tasted like it came from a Migros budget pack, the salad dressing was definitely a cheap sauce from Migros (which I knew me), that didn't work! Horrible taste! I am aware that the catering industry has to save money in some places, but not in this way! Unfortunately, the guacamole was a bit bland, as was the sour cream sauce. The portions were very generous (which was great, we were all full), which brought us to the next problem. I expected the meat to be served in/on a hot cast iron pan, or at least the food to be kept warm on a rechaud. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, after 10 minutes everything was cold. Even the tortillas were cold after a few minutes. Very unfortunate Persons: *** Basically friendly, even if they sometimes seemed inexperienced. You get the impression that the distribution of jobs is not clearly regulated, everyone does a little bit of everything, but not really professionally. Everyone served, sometimes the cook, sometimes the lady who welcomed us, sometimes the lady who took the order. We also had to wait a relatively long time. We are basically very simple people without any great demands, but the company concept (running a restaurant as cheaply as possible) becomes obvious very quickly. We'll look for another Mexican restaurant for our next restaurant visit.

Really, really tasty. They make by far the best Cordon Bleus. Due to incorrect delivery times, we were already offered a meal and a bottle of red wine. Incredible service. It has recently become one of our regular haunts. The boss is extremely friendly and accommodating. The couriers are all very friendly and most importantly, the food is fantastic. very unfriendly boss, forced me to buy a drink otherwise I wouldn't be allowed to sit at the same table with my friends. Since my friends ordered something and I wasn't hungry and didn't want to order anything, I had to wait outside for them and wasn't allowed to join them inside. Just disrespectful Not recommended!!!

Delicious margeritas! Big portion. Friendly staff, but could be a little more attentive. It's great that you can sit outside - a cushion on the chair or a blanket when it gets cooler would definitely encourage you to stay longer and invite you to have 1 or 2 more margeritas.

Food wasn't good... Mozarella sticks weren't cooked through, fried calamari didn't taste any squid and the cheese nachos were completely soggy under the pile of cheese. In addition, sweet barbecue chips were used for nachos... very questionable

Very friendly conditions. We got our food very quickly. The food was also very tasty. If you don't have any experience with Mexican food, I recommend Plato dos.

We were there on Saturday, 3 people. When we came in we were greeted warmly and allowed to choose a table. We waited about 25 minutes, then we were asked if we would like something to drink. The margaritas are simply made and simply presented, but the mixing ratio of the components was right. The starters and main courses were surprisingly good and really authentic. The Ques Adillas had 4 pieces on the plate and the photo on the menu showed 6 pieces, which I thought was a shame because they were delicious. My tacos con res were excellent. Finally, a Sorbet Colonel with fruity lemon sorbet. It was a successful evening and a very tasty meal. We will come by often. If you are not in a hurry, this restaurant is highly recommended

Very good food that we had delivered (due to Corona). Big portion. Could have been a little spicier. Unfortunately the delivery came quite late. Ordered at 5:30 p.m. but arrived at 5:52 p.m. We would still like to come to the restaurant. :)

The food was good, but rather simple. There was ready-made salad, which we personally didn't think was right for such a menu and at such prices. We were also very surprised that we found what we thought was the tequila on the bill at a hefty 12 francs per glass. We all assumed Mexican hospitality. The staff was friendly and the margaritas were delicious.

I really liked this restaurant. The managers are very nice. The food is excellent. The prices are reasonable. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation! On the other hand, remember to reserve a table...

We became aware of this original Mexican restaurant via “Your Deal”. I just don't think you can find this place like that. It is nicely hidden in the industrial part of Bubikon. For starters we ate tortilla chips with avocado dip. Calamares and chicken coconut soup. For the main course we had various dishes with prawns, chicken, beef, vegetables with rice and leaf salad with beans and corn as well as various sauces with sour cream, guacamole and tomato chili. Warm wheat tortillas were served to fill. A lemon sorbet crowned the meal. We enjoyed it very much. The meat and vegetables were well seasoned and not boring. Viva Mexico🌶🥑🌵

We ate here for the second time. The food is very tasty and authentic. The prices are appropriate for the portions. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. We'd love to come back. :)

The restaurant is clean, but if you look closely you can see that, for example, the "wooden tiles" are falling off the wall and no one has tried to fix this yet. Otherwise, effort was put into setting it up. We had lunch here and the shutters were down, so the room seemed very dark. Also, during our visit, some door was open, so it felt cold inside. The service was very unmotivated and didn't ask whether we liked the food. Which is incomprehensible when you're the only ones... The menu was ok in terms of prices but completely overpriced. I then decided on fried jalapenos with salad, I assume a ready-made product. With my still water I paid 25.-. That's just too much for this quality. I worked for a Mexican restaurant (Trés Amigos) for a few years. It wasn't really cheap either, but the quality was much better and it didn't have any chicken from Brazil... I would adjust the prices to the location and put a little more heart into it, then it could be something... But I definitely won't be drawn there again. :-(

Unfortunately the opening times do not match the publications. We wanted to have lunch today, according to the notice on the open entrance door, the opening times would have been from 11 a.m. on Saturday. We wanted to eat there at 12:20 p.m., unfortunately the entrance door to the restaurant was closed. There was no response to our bell, so we had to go to another restaurant. Bad news for walk-in customers, so I can't recommend this restaurant at all, especially if you want to eat there spontaneously from out of town. It's a shame, but unfortunately this can be unpleasant and therefore not recommended at all.

Salad didn't look fresh. The salad dressing and dip tasted like ready-made products and the fried perch fillets were dry. Never again!

Service quite okay. Starter (salad) was served less on the plate without asking. We had taken a jumbo pack and it looked very economical. The waiter was more concerned with the whiskey than with the other customers. When paying, I found it quite unprofessional to have put a self-written note on the table instead of a receipt that says everything you took. The price wasn't even what you should have paid. I found it all pretty unprofessional and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Service was very nice... But if it gets a little more crowded, then you might have to wait a little longer. The portions of the food are really generous and there are no highs in terms of taste. A real Margherita simply has to have fresh fruit and “crashed ice” in it, everything else is syrup with alcohol. All in all okay but not necessarily again...
