Celebrated and enjoyed our wedding anniversary today. The 7-course menu was sensational, for us one of the best (culinary) experiences in Zurich. Service very friendly and professionally correct. Ingredients from the menu are seasonal, regional and high quality. The only wish for improvement: In this day and age, the vegetarian menu could be a bit cheaper than the meat and fish menu, especially if you simply leave out fish/meat for 1-2 courses and otherwise serve them identically.

I have only been to two other restaurants of this caliber before, so my experience is not extensive as some others, as a full disclaimer. Overall me and my fiancee had an incredibly experience, our waiter (gentlemen from Spain) was an incredible host. His knowledge and expertise of the dishes while keeping everything light and fun was what I had imagined an experience at EquiTable to be like. Chef Julian and his team's regional selection of ingredients, presentational skills, and palate selection was incredibly well balanced and fun. I had particularly enjoyed the surprises and little touches that made the experience stand out (that I wont spoil for those who have not yet been) above many of the other, perhaps more "serious" fine dining establishments. Their focus on sustainability, light heartedness, sophisticated menu developed, and understanding of gastronomy make this a great selection for anyone visiting Zurich or living locally. And of course the seal of approval - my fiancee stating it was one, if not, THE best dining experience she has had!

What an amazing culinary experience. By far the best meal I have had in Europe. Staff was attentive and took the time to walk us through each course and the paired wine. Chef Julian also welcomed us If you are looking for a venue for a client event in Zurich, look no further. We did a buy out, and hosted clients from Zurich, the US, and other parts of the EU. They were very impressed with the evening, and the intimate venue really helped us connect with our guests. We will be back!

What a special meal. Each course is a gem, lovingly prepared. Absolutely delicious and beautiful cuisine served by delightful people. So glad we went. Quite expensive but worth it.

Excellent experience. We were lucky to have the chef coming to us to present the dishes several times. He was very kind and passionate about his job, and we really enjoy chatting with him. The rest of the staff was also very good and attentive, and everyone spoke very good English. Otherwise: Nice atmosphere, very crowded and cramped, therefore a bit uncomfortable. If you catch one of the tables squeezed into the last corners near the door, you're really unlucky. What is offered is not enough for the class in which you would like to play. There are plenty of much better alternatives in Zurich.

Impeccable EquiTable - If you want to treat yourself in an intimate setting this might just been what you have been looking for. Highly recommend to book well in advance and treat yourself.

A perfect birthday meal! We were the first guests and were allowed to choose the table. The aperitif was accompanied by several greetings from the kitchen and a crusty, warm house bread. The menu was a series of creative and delicious surprises and the wine was a poem. The service was warm and attentive at the same time, but never intrusive. We left the restaurant excited, happy and full, but it certainly wasn't our last time there!

Our first Michelin star experience in Zurich was focused on providing local ingredients through a manifest. Except the cocoa beans and bananas in the desert which the chef explained it's because of the season. Found out that truffles grow in Zurich. Tasted the most delightful pork belly cooked in the sous vide style. Overall quality of food can be improved a notch, but most of the things were tasty and attention to details were amazing. My partners fish tasted muddy, while mine was perfect. Will try again.

A wonderful and unique experience every time. What Julian always conjures up in the kitchen is unbelievable. In combination with Maximilian's excellent service: it couldn't be better. A well-thought-out concept, a unique ambience, excellent food and drink - you just feel like you're in perfect hands. This restaurant is definitely one of the few hidden gems in Zurich. From the outside the place looks quite understated, even inside there are no white tablecloths and no crazy decorations. Alone by the bread, my friend and I knew we would be in for a treat. I was utterly taken aback by the quality of the dishes we were served. The ingredients were nothing fancy, but the cook had some natural talent. Simple, local ingredients are treated with the utmost respect. Especially the savoury dishes brought the place to life. Given that the main courses were so impressive, I found the dessert courses to be rather unspectacular and could have done with one instead of three. In the beginning, we spoke German to the staff, but after they realised my friend and I spoke English to each other, they switched for the remainder of the evening. We found this to be a kind touch, given the restaurant's concept despite the visible discomfort by one of the servers. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who truly appreciates magnificent food.

Such a savory experience! Each of them was flavorful and well presented. Also, the little entrances and treats were so nice we felt we had even more than the 6 courses we asked for! And to make the experience even better, the service was excellent, everyone was nice and helpful, clearly proud of their job. The chef even came to talk to us about the concept of the restaurant and ask about how everything went, which was the cherry on top! I recommend and will return for sure.

The food was great in terms of flavour, presentation and being exciting, the staff were very nice and friendly and the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant were very fitting for a great experience. I believe superior to other 1star restaurants in Zurich, maybe go before they get the 2nd. Also catered very well to my friend who is gluten free.

Our experience at Equitable provided wonderful and thoughtful food. However, the management team also saw fit to seat a 20:00 table with a family of four, of which two were children under 3. The children were loud and upset at having to sit through a 2+ hour meal, and their oblivious parents let them cry throughout. This clearly bothered other diners, including ourselves. It ruined what should been a special experience. While I empathize with the parents of young children and the challenges of eating out, you should not take them to a fine dining experience, and the restaurant should not seat them. Poor form all around, and I would suggest spending your money at one of the many other restaurants in this region that are more respectful to their guests.

Wonderful. Full of wonder in the literal meaning. Some events are so special that mere words can’t do them justice, such as the visit to EquiTable. We had the 7 course dinner with the complete wine pairing. It was a fantastic experience, with surprises, flavor combinations unimaginable to the untrained, and all that in a homy relaxed atmosphere. The staff really does everything in their power to make your stay a beautiful adventure and they fully succeed at that. Upon leaving I felt as happy as a kid on Christmas with that warm fuzzy feeling (and no that was not the alcohol ;) ) One day I might try recreating the fennel confit and pair it with a blue cheese but for now, I’ll keep it as a cherished memory.

My partner made reservations for this restaurant 2 weeks before our visit, I overheard the phone call. At the restaurant though, no booking was found. We checked the called number, which was correct. The host, a guy in his father’s suit, didn’t make any accommodations, no apologies or offer a new reservation. The short visit to this place had a weird Oprah-on-Bahnhofstrasse vibe and almost ruined our 20 year anniversary celebration. The evening was saved by our accompanying friends who found us d’Aurora at Rotwandstrasse. Aurora is an impressive host, the restaurant fabulously unpretentious and felt like a warm embrace after a cold night out.

Enjoy with all your senses and at the highest level. This restaurant takes you on a journey to another dimension. From the service to the cuisine, the food to the drinks... you will be enchanted... we were and are thrilled. Tip: The non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverage accompaniment is a blast!

We enjoyed a very nice evening a we had an excellent 6 course dinner. With each course we enjoyed a different wine..3 white, 2 red and a dessert wine at the end. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. And the chef explained each course in detail.

We used it for dinner on the day of our wedding. You can choose 4, 5, 6 or 7 courses and we chose 6 courses. We had the 4-course menu and it was just excellent. There is no menu and you are surprised by creative and complex dishes with many ingredients that almost always come together brilliantly. They offer wine pairing with the menu, typically using local Swiss wines. Service has been very good for most times we have come, with a few minor distractions in some occasions. Highly recommended!!!! Update 24.04.2014: it's still excellent! Update 16.07.2021: for the forth time, it is still one of my favorite restaurants in Zurich.

So 5months after going there I can still remember the experience and the delicious food and needed to write a review. It was a Fall menu loaded with so many interesting dishes we hesitated for a looooong time. All dishes were succulent, tasty and nicely portioned. The staff was also great in providing suggestions and very kind and smiley. Can’t wait to go back when the world gets back to normal... sigh
