Excellent in Davos

This restaurant was recommended to us by our Davos relatives. We wanted to have a small dinner there with our Nani (91 years old). My son wanted a pizza and I wanted to order a mixed salad. Due to the previous evening, our Nani only wanted dessert. When we ordered our food, we were told in an extremely loud tone that we had to read the menu correctly and were paraded in front of the entire restaurant. It said that starters, including the mixed salad, were only possible in conjunction with a main course (no salad was offered among these). Furthermore, we were accused of not being able to accommodate other guests who wanted to eat "real" because of us. Strangely enough, two guests were able to get a table twice after us without a reservation. If we hadn't had our walking-impaired Nani with us, we would have definitely left the restaurant immediately. So we felt more than compelled to order food that we didn't actually want. In the short term, probably a financial gain for the landlord. In the medium term, however, he may not be doing himself any favors. We and our relatives will definitely avoid this restaurant in the future and will no longer recommend it to others. This was by far the worst restaurant experience we have ever had.

Very friendly service. The boss was very attentive and accommodating. The two homemade salad dressings for the beautiful mixed salad were excellent and were served with fresh bread. The really big Mamamia pizza was really perfect and so tasty, made with only fresh ingredients. To top it all off, the boss offered a great grappa at the end. Thank you for the culinary delight!

I chose this place on my last night in Davos because of Google ratings, but unfortunately there was no table. The owner/manager said that if you don’t arrive 2-3 days in advance, it’s impossible to get a spot. So, considering the popularity, I chose takeout. Look, this is the Peri Peri Pizza I ordered. The menu tells me that the toppings include Pepperoni. Huh? ! where? Either the pepperoni is too small for me to see, or it's not at all. The shop owner said that as long as I pay in cash, all pizzas are 20 francs... It's a pity that I didn't bring enough cash... But, is this related to tax something?🤦i don’t know

It used to be much better and cheaper. Although it's always charming, the quality has clearly deteriorated. The pizza dough is like a tarte flambée that also had a lot of salt. Although the pizzas are huge, almost 30fr. Pro pizza proud. Another note: Carbonara is NEVER with cream! A deadly sin...

genuinely one of the top 5 restaurants I have ever been to in the world. so good we went there twice during our 4 night stay in Davos a few months ago and I honestly regret not going 4 times. we were served by the owner/chef. he was very friendly and wholesome and gave us a lovely dining experience. you could tell he was extremely passionate about his job. He explained that everything was homemade, which was obvious by the incredible taste of the food, I wish I had taken better pictures. the portions are huge. I usually can't eat much but I finished my plate both times because it was just so good I couldn't let it go to waste. according to the negative reviews, only go if you are super hungry and don't complain, but in my opinion there is nothing to complain about. would eat here once a week if I lived in Davos. looking forward to our next trip there so we can come back to this restaurant.

Hospitality is a foreign word. We came into the restaurant which was about 1/3 full and were greeted warmly. After ordering we were sent away with the comment “we are not a snack bar”. The reason was that my partner (pregnant) just wanted to order a side dish. You can do it - you can also do it at an indiscreet volume - but it doesn't show great hospitality. If necessary, the owner should look at how his own friendly staff treat customers.

Hidden Gem - honestly the best pizza I ave ever eaten, so good I went back and had it again 3 days later. Perfect think crispy base, amazing topping selection and all good quality. The bruschetta starter was great too. Staff were really nice & made for a relaxed, enjoyable evening. Gets busy over the weekend so recommend booking, but in the week was easy to get a table.

Absolutely the best restaurant in Davos. I stayed in Davos for 4 days and I went there twice!! Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and the food is the best !! Very fresh and clean. I absolutely recommend their Greek Salad, and their peri peri Pizza. If you like seafood, their seafood risotto was really good ! Thank you so much for this awesome service.

Apparently this restaurant is trying to make a name for itself with the enormous size of the pizza 🍕. But the restaurant or food doesn't deserve more than 3 stars.

Italian flair! Huge pizza, thin dough, delicious toppings. Bolognese sauce is also very fine. The Primitivo went well and tasted good. Friendly and incredibly fast service (Sunday evening). Unfortunately, non-alcoholic drinks are quite expensive.

One of the weirdest thing that can happen, you are not allowed to share food, thats not all, you are forced to place order per person even though you know what your appetite is. If you go by any surprise at the time you place order with this too friendly restaurant, owner will quickly help you to show/read the "disclaimer" on their front page of menu book, which explains that its humanly not allowed to say "I aint that hungry" 🤣🤣! The owner is so much in love with his food that he want you to eat those massive chees filled oliy pizzas all by yourself. I have been to so many pizzerias around Europe, but this experience was "costly". By the way pizza is pizza, there can be nothing as such to taste out of this world. So our pizza tasted like a pizza 🤭. This "excellent" pizzeria goes on my list of never visit again!!!

We were greeted very unfriendly because we sat down at a table that hadn't yet been cleaned. When we said we only wanted dessert and coffee we were thrown out, even though the restaurant was only two-thirds full.

Great pizzas certainly, but way too salty. The dough is dry. The welcome is below what one would expect from a Swiss restaurant. The shared payment was complicated in the end. We do not recommend.

Great service: friendly, attentive, accommodating. The dishes were also excellently seasoned, the final tiramisu with wild berries was top notch!

Living up to its name, this is a very good, cozy, old-school Italian restaurant. Pizza was large and delicious as was the lasagna. Reservations advised. Thank you for a memorable meal and we will return.

Extremely customer unfriendly and antisocial owner. We were loudly kicked out of the restaurant because we "only" ordered 3 pizzas instead of 4. I wouldn't give him my money :) (you will be warmly welcomed across the street at Hotel Ameron for a delicious pizza/pinsa)

I was particularly impressed by the careful selection of ingredients and the perfect preparation of each individual dish. Although I have been to many top-notch restaurants, the food at Excellent really blew me away. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive. They took the time to answer my questions and take my orders. I truly felt like a valued guest and was well looked after throughout my visit. In summary, I can only recommend the Excellent restaurant in Davos. It offers a welcoming atmosphere, great food and outstanding service. I will definitely be back and can't wait to share my experience with others.

I was here with my family and we were served very well. The boss came to each guest personally and greeted them in a friendly manner. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good, some of my pizza tasted very sour. I could talk about the ambience for hours. I liked this campfire by the window and all the tables were beautifully designed. I can only recommend it Top!

One star because required by Google. We (4 people) have visited the restaurant for the second time (previously on our last vacation a year ago). Back then we really enjoyed the enormously large pizza, but unfortunately we had to give some back due to its size, which was a shame. Today we thought we would learn from this experience and 2 of us wanted to share a pizza (so in total we wanted to order 3 pizzas). We also wanted to share 2 muesli salads between the 4 of us. When ordering the pizza, we were told in an extremely loud tone and without any apology (we were paraded in front of the entire restaurant) that we should read the menu correctly. In this state that you can only come if you are very hungry and there is no such thing as being a little hungry, "after all, we are not at Mcdonalds here". In addition, a salad is not permitted as a main course. We were offered to order the “pizza per due”. Meaning: you order ONE pizza for two for 44 francs (normally a pizza costs around 25 francs, so you simply pay 19 francs for the second plate and cutting the pizza). We're really not stingy people (after all, we also ordered the salads as starters), but we didn't see that. So we each ordered our own pizza. When the 2 salads came we couldn't believe our eyes. The boss had divided this "extra" (as he emphasized) into 4 plates for us: everyone got exactly 3 lamb's lettuce leaves and a thin slice of egg. As expected, the pizzas came in a size larger than the plate and of course we couldn't manage them. Additionally, one of the pizzas came with olives, even though these were not on the menu. With a gruff tone about this incident too, the olives were removed from the pizza. The pizza was tasty (as we already knew from last year), but the boss's tone towards us was simply impossible. Finally the busboy brought us the bill and wanted to pour us a grappa. We politely declined this. Then the busboy (it should be noted that he had not served us until then, the boss had taken care of that for the rest of the evening) came a short time late with a corrected bill in which one of the pizzas was canceled again (according to the busboy by the boss) . The boss didn't come to us again. It's a real shame that despite the actually good food, the boss's behavior and choice of words are so disastrous that we won't be coming back and can't recommend the shop under any circumstances. This was by far the worst restaurant experience we have ever had.

For me the best pizza in Davos, huge, fresh, crispy, well topped. You can simply taste fresh products. Also great cordon bleu and homemade pasta dishes. And all of this at very reasonable prices. Very nice service and the owner runs his business with heart (also on his tongue). I will gladly come again!

Pizza and tomato soup very good and large portion

1) Horrible prices for what it is. 2) The vegetable side dish was at best a garnish dripping with oil. 3) This was never an entrecote. Maybe a juice cookie? 4) 9 francs for water is a bit crazy. 5) The landlord was quite unfriendly (to other guests), for example sending people away even though it was still close to closing time and neither everything was full nor reserved. 6) Those weren't fried potatoes, they were fries. I would actually like to give it a zero, but I'm happy to give it one star because they forgot to add my "mixed salad" to the bill. At least I didn't have to pay for it.

The three of us spontaneously went to the restaurant on Saturday. Dragan the owner welcomed us very warmly and in his own very cool way! He is a full-blooded restaurateur through and through! Not only was the food sensational, but the entire manner of service from start to finish! If you want to eat something delicious at great prices, you've come to the right place! Absolutely recommended! We'd love to come back. Thanks to Dragan and the team!

One of the best italian I have ever had! Very attentive and friendly people, delicious and generous food (indeed very good quality and quantity!). All homemade.

Despite reservations, we had no space. It wouldn't have been a problem to wait a bit, but the landlord reprimanded us loudly and made us look like we had misbehaved completely.

I made a reservation by phone. When we arrived 5 minutes ahead of time, the innkeeper literally made fun of us. He had no space now and couldn't simply throw the guests out. If he had greeted us politely and asked if we would like to have an aperitif at the bar, no problem. But such outrageous behavior is absolutely unacceptable.

We can only recommend this place, especially if you come with a dog. The boss loves them and gives them treats. Thank you for this welcome 😊 The pizzas we ate were excellent and HUGE!

Recommended: the boss is an animal lover; your dog will always be well received, with little treats to boot! The dishes are very generous and excellent, whether it is the pizzas which are difficult to finish, the pasta cooked "al dente" or the perfectly cooked "tagliata di manzo", accompanied by fresh fries, not to mention the unlimited digestive offered to the end of the dinner ! We have been back several times and have never been disappointed. During our next stay, we already know where we will eat!

We were welcomed with free sparkling wine. :) We ordered Pizza Diavolo and Penne All'arrabbiata. The size of the pizza is appropriate for the price. Both the dishes were delicious. The house wine is definitely recommended which is from south of Italy. The owner is a gentleman and the service is great. A true Italian experience!

We chose this pizzeria in Davos because most of the reviews were positive. Unfortunately, appearances are deceiving. We didn't have to provide any contact details - although every restaurant is required to do so. Then our calzones arrived. My husband's calzone was completely burnt on the top. The innkeeper then just said: It's just a bit of Africa... With my calzone I had to fight my way through about 6 - 7 cm of far-dry edges until I finally got to the inside. This pizzeria is anything but excellent. Not recommendable.
