Falken in Gais

Easter Monday. Chicken curry was good. Service is also tip top👌🏻

The man in service is very nice, attentive and friendly. We didn't like the food that much, my pizza was too overloaded, too much cheese, too much mascarpone. The salad was okay, nice house dressing, even though there were a lot of people, we were served very quickly! Went to the Falken again today and everything was very, very good and the man in service is really very nice!🥰

An arrogant employee was too lazy to print out separate receipts for us (4 learners). We specifically made them aware that we absolutely need these receipts for company expenses. He even called us to say he wouldn't be printing receipts. We pointed out to him again that we needed them, but unfortunately there wasn't a single decent one when we delivered them. The pizza was good to eat but for these prices we hoped for more.

Can highly recommend the tiramisu.

The pizzas are horrible! It is a pizzeria run by an Indian. Indian food is possibly good, I don't know.

Great service staff who are very friendly and accommodating. Pizzas are well topped and tasty. Bruschetta, coffee and also amaretto were offered. In addition, there is a very “cheerful” atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The aquariums also offer great entertainment. Always happy to come back!

Pizza tastes good, but the schnitzels are frozen products. A schnitzel should be fresh.

Unfortunately, schnitzel and cordonbleu are frozen products (not fresh but bought), just like ice cream comes from a spray can with whipped cream. I think everything in a restaurant should be freshly cooked. But a huge compliment to the lovely waiter, he's really nice

Tail end of a few week trip in Europe - through Germany, Italy, and Switzerland and we have to say that Pension Falken was one of, if not our very best meal. The food is incredible and the staff is very friendly.

Not a good receiving. We went there and speak in german to ask if it was ok for a drink (it was early). They told us they were full. Ok, so I asked to take a drink outside (it was a little rainy but nothing that bad) terrasse was dressed up with chairs and tables. The boss told me "no, no we are full, thanks good bye" like "we" will not serve you (a lot of tables was available by the way, the village is not that huge and it is not a big season for tourists). Thanks for nothing. We will certainly have dined there after, why not? We told them that, but it wasn't good enough… we had decent closes, were smiling and everything. We have not understood. They were not nice at all. Please go away, THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY and do not want to make you discover the land and have a nice trip. Other places were real welcoming and nice by the way.

Unfortunately I only had a negative experience. I can only confirm like the other comments. I had diarrhea for 2 days after eating. It can only be due to the dirty kitchen. It didn't taste good either. After complaint nothing responded. Please avoid this place.

In Switzerland you rarely find such bad food. Expensive prices. Tasteless food. The waiter is an ugly, unfriendly Indian. I have never seen such a bad restaurant in Switzerland. Dirty, disgusting cesspit. Never again!!!!🤮🤮

Very bad tasting food. Indian food is a sink. Italian food is ridiculously bad. The prices, however, are at a high level. You have to pay a lot for nothing. The Indian waiter smelled of heavy sweat. Nausea!!! Why not close, pet food is not good.

Delicious food. Menu based on Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta and risottos. Cozy and pleasant atmosphere.

We were there on September 3rd, 2020 and ordered a pizza as well as a pasta dish. The pasta dish was quite good. But those responsible have NO idea about baking pizza. Rock hard on the outside, soft, watery and rubbery on the inside. You could hardly cut the pizza. Upon request and an unfriendly comment from the waiter, this pizza was put back in the oven with the result that the thing became even harder on the edge and remained just as watery and gummy in the middle. Pizza at Falken Gais is a complete disaster. We paid and left the restaurant knowing that we will never be dining here again. A disgrace for the pizza bakers' guild, never again Falken Gais.

We have been to the restaurant for the first time. It is more like a family run restaurant which is why The quality of the food was excellent together with an excellent service. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

The pasta dishes are very good. The only pizza I ate during my stay didn't convince me. And that in a pizzeria. The service from Hayo and Jenny was excellent. The two do the entire service. I give them five stars. When I stayed overnight, I really missed the room service. The small trash can in the bathroom wasn't emptied once during my entire stay and was more than full on the day of departure. And that even though I even asked to empty it once. Good thing I only stayed for a few days. Nothing else was cleaned either Unfortunately I can't give a star for the lack of room service.

Appenzeller pizza is simply amazing!

The new kebab shop is a complete disaster. When I was there two days ago we were served by an unfriendly Indian man. He barely warmed the rolls in the microwave. The meat was pre-cooked and put on the grill. When he took the money he wasn't wearing any gloves. When I asked him if he didn't have any, he didn't even answer. What shocked me the most was that he had just come out of the toilet and wasn't using gloves. The meat was cold and the bread was hard. There was no sauce on my kebab and my wife's had so much sauce that the sauce dripped through the aluminum foil into the bag and she couldn't enjoy it later. Especially now in the Corona period, it is so important to adhere to hygiene measures, but no gloves were used, nor was a respirator mask. The disinfectant was diluted with water. At the end I was just looked at angrily because I fought for the hygiene measures, which the "cook" didn't like. Not recommended at all, a pure waste of money and an impudence at how indecent this collaboration was. One star is even too much for that but you can't give less. This kebab should be closed by the health department.

By far the most diverse pizzeria in Appenzellerland - Absolutely great value for money - Pleasant atmosphere and prompt, friendly service.

We recently ordered take away menus because of Corona. Order taking, food preparation, punctuality and friendliness were first class. Above all, the menus were excellent (Indian lamb curry and prawn curry), just right in terms of spiciness (as ordered), and very generous portions, so that there was almost enough for two meals. Gladly again!

Service wasn't particularly pleased, we would be served in a friendly manner but we know other things... Wi-Fi was reluctantly given a password when asked, pizza was a bit very greasy, taste, well, a lot of cheese... Spaghetti alio olio with little garlic, it just worked. .. Well, there are better ones...

Wir geniessen die Symbiose zwischen den verschiedenen Geschmäcker von der indischen Küche mit der italienischen Küche. Die Peperoncini-Version auf indisch ist der Hammer. Ich kann nicht genug davon bekommen. Auch die Salatsauce in der kleinen Kanne ist eine gute Idee. Schade, dass in der Schweiz die indische/sri-lankische Küche so wenig bekannt ist. Da ist viel Potenzial vorhanden. Der Falken in Gais macht da eine sehr gutes Beispiel.

Der Falken hatte einen Pizzakoch und seine Pizza war die Beste seit 1,5Jahren. Weiter so. Wenn es so bleibt wieder sehr empfehlenswert.

Nous sommes allés à cet endroit deux fois en trois jours. La pizza était excellente, les plats italiens étaient bons. Mes filles adolescentes difficiles étaient satisfaites, ce qui est une nouvelle. Ma femme végétalienne était ravie, donc tout le monde était heureux.

Ich war nun schon öfters mit Freunden im Restaurant Falken zum Essen. Ob im Restaurant oder auf der sonnigen Terrasse man fühlt sich hier wohl und in der Speisekarte findet wohl jeder etwas. Ob Pizza, Pasta, Risotto oder auch Indische Speisen mit wählbarem Schärfegrad, alles ist fein und absolut empfehlenswert.Ich freue mich jetzt schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch.

Oje, Mittag gegessen zur Auswahl standen 3 Menüs. Haben uns für Pizza Menü entschieden. War ein Fehler. Pizza fettig, Teig ungeniessbar, Käse verfolgte mich den ganzen Tag. In dem ganzen Restaurant riechts stark nach Essen. Ob der Dampfabzug wohl funktioniert?

Indian food is really very good. It's tasty, the chicken I got was well cooked and not too dry. The location is nice and small - for tall people: STOP! haha As an Italian, I immediately saw a couple of things that I didn't like too much on the Italian menu. There are some combinations that in Italy would never, ever exist as pizzas. If an Italian goes there I recommend him to take the Indian food which is really super TASTY!!

Went to the Falken in Gais again. Good meal, nice stay, nice conversation with the boss who always comes by and asks what's going on.

There are Italian and Indian dishes here. The Indian dish was freshly prepared and very tasty, the meat was fried to perfection and not dry. The pizzas are normal size and have good toppings. Hot is also hot, but the dough doesn't taste homemade. Service was ok, some of our group had to wait a long time, despite announcement and reservation. We'll definitely come back sometime.

No 'hello' or 'Grüezi' or 'welcome'. We took a seat on the terrace and waited for the service After about 10 waits, the waitress arrived and was apparently alone in taking care of the guests in the restaurant and on the roof terrace. Without a word she handed us the menus. After what felt like another 15 minutes she appeared again and asked what we wanted. My partner ordered a sparkling white wine and I ordered my beer and the pizza with a few changes. The drinks came, once sweet and the beer. The pizzas also came quite quickly. My partner's pizza was baked exactly to her wishes, as was my seafood pizza, but the mussel shells and the crust of the shrimp were also baked. Otherwise the pizza was quite tasty. After my partner received her sour wine in a repeat order, I sent for the bill and paid by credit card. Meanwhile, the boss of the whole thing arrived and asked all the guests whether everything was OK and gave the adults at the neighboring table (6 adults, 2 children) a schnapps because a dish had probably been missed when they ordered and had to be delivered later We weren't asked. Two stars because the pizzas were tasty. We decided not to go there anymore because we didn't feel comfortable there and weren't welcome either.

Nach unserer Indienreise hatten wir in den Appenzell-Ferien Lust auf indisch und wurden vom Falken nicht enttäuscht. Wir haben das Chicken Biryani und Chicken Korma sehr genossen.

Die Speisekarte ist vielfältig von italienisch bis indisch. Die mir bekannten Pizzen z.B. Boscaiola sind empfehlenswert und qualitätsbeständig.Eine grosse Terrasse lädt auch am Abend noch bei einem Wein und Bier zum verweilen ein und wird ggf. am Tag mit grossen Schirmen beschattet.

The inn is quite good and the service is consistent with the price. I recommend treating yourself to a tiramisu for dessert. It tastes delicious!
