On our trip to Monte Generoso, we encountered some bad weather on Saturday which caused the railway to be withdrawn. However, we were determined to experience the breathtaking views of the summit and decided to go on Sunday instead. The railway schedule was at 2.00 pm, and we were pleased to find that the ride was on time. Despite the cold weather at just 1 degree Celsius, we were amazed to see a clear sky above us. As we embarked on the 30-minute journey, we felt a sense of anticipation and excitement. The ride was thrilling and fun, as we ascended over 1700 meters to reach the pinnacle of Monte Generoso. The view that greeted us was nothing short of spectacular. The panoramic vista of the surrounding mountains and valleys was awe-inspiring, and we were left speechless by the beauty of it all. We were particularly impressed by the futuristic architecture of the "Fiore di Pietra," a building that seemed to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The view through the windows, which had a straight-down elevation, was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. It felt like we were suspended in mid-air, with nothing but the stunning landscape below us. Overall, we highly recommend this experience to families looking for a weekend adventure. The ride to Monte Generoso is both thrilling and educational, and the views from the summit are simply breathtaking.

The best meal of our stay in the Lucano Region..!!-(which included a less -than -memorable,disappointing experience in a Michelin-Star Establishment). This food was far superior to any other experience during out stay;the young Waitress and Manager were delightful...and,of course,the view was perfect. A marvellous-unexpected-surprise to find such quality on the top of a mountain.... !

What a wonderful day my wife and I had at Fiore di pietra. We live back in the states in California and are already in the talks of planning a trip to come back purely because of our experience here. The most wonderful food and wine, stunning views, and down to earth staff. Thank you Francesco, Chef and supporting staff for our most memorable lunch.
