I ate at the Grotto Loverciano a few weeks ago at noon. I was very struck by the beauty of the place, rustic and welcoming at the same time. The staff introduced themselves kindly and the (interesting) dishes we tasted were particularly good. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos that day.

Fantastic! A life we ​​didn't enjoy, apart from a couple of times in the summer on the beautiful terrace. With a nice group we had the honor of having a chinoise dinner in the beautiful private grotto. Nothing to complain about, perfect service, excellent meat, very plentiful, what can I say...congratulations!

An excellent dinner here at the Grotto del Loverciano, the environment is welcoming and the staff very friendly. The dishes look good and are tasty, the white risotto good but a little too tasty, obviously these are personal tastes. The undisputed queen here is meat. A small discordant note in the confusion was that they forgot to prepare a dish so one person had to wait over 15 minutes longer than the others, but it can happen. For the rest definitely recommended.

Nice place, I'm not very expert on Swiss costs but people I was with informed me that they were perfectly within the norm. I must say the food was really good, I had a risotto but I was also able to taste the saddle of venison and the meat was excellent, the side dishes were a little less so in my opinion but it could be a matter of taste. All in all recommended.

Very convivial environment, friendly and knowledgeable staff. We return every year for the gastronomy festival. The roe deer saddle is exquisite. A very suggestive place for the summer to be experienced even in the open air.

Grotto open all year round, very friendly and helpful staff. The tacks with chips are recommended, during the summer the outdoor terrace is a must!

I and three other friends went to this restaurant for lunch. Three of us took the saddle of Caprio Baden Baden style, very good, very tender meat and good side dishes too, the fourth took a rack of ribs, all very satisfied both for the generous portions and the quality

Lunch with friends after the walk on Monte Generoso. I highly recommend it. We were greeted by a very kind waiter and once seated the owner also stopped by to say hello (small gestures that count). Half of us tried the ribs and the others the wine and cheese risotto. All really delicious. I will definitely return.

Very kind staff and excellent cuisine

Located a little hidden above Mendrisio, we ate at the outdoor tables in a setting of painted autumn trees which made the experience truly relaxing and pleasant. Good food and the scent of grilled meat are the right completion of the offer.

Crotto Loverciano is an enchanting place immersed in the beauty of the forest, with large and welcoming outdoor spaces. The food is tasty and of good quality and the prices are average for Swiss crotti - Ticino. Unfortunately, the children's play area seems to have been a little neglected, with nice games but in need of maintenance.

Beautiful location in the middle of the woods. Truly magical atmosphere. We tried two types of very good risottos. The only flaw was an inedible chocolate mousse which ruined the poetry. Maybe a one-time accident. I haven't tried the other dishes so I can't rate them. Friendly service.

Great place to have dinner, we were 13 for dinner and the service was great. We were in the patio outside (August), nice and big area. Food is excellent. Worth reserving, we won't on a Tuesday and it was full.

Maybe someone might doubt the stars I gave but it seemed right to do so because I had a really nice evening, I ate really well and I felt treated in a very pleasant and sincere way. The location is really pleasant, we dined outdoors under the plants, ate really excellent polenta with mushrooms and the waiters were really attentive and friendly. The desserts were good, in my opinion handcrafted and the bill was not exaggerated even for those of us who come from Italy. We will be back.

Typical crotto above Mendrisio, easily reachable. Really delicious food. Ribs with chips and sliced ​​beef were really good. The pastas are also good. Don't forget the delicious desserts too. The grill is visible in the garden and you can enjoy the excellent aroma of freshly cooked meat. Friendly and attentive staff. Recommended for a relaxing Sunday lunch.

The Loverciano grotto is a pleasant place to enjoy Ticino dishes. Furthermore, in summer it is nice to be able to eat al fresco because it is adjacent to a forest.

A very good experience, a welcoming, spacious place with ample outdoor parking. We ate mixed donkey and beef fondue in the all-you-can-eat formula, ordering polenta for 3 and 2, one with braised meat and one with rabbit, both excellent. Sublime polenta with braised meat. Given the enormous consumption of fondue, only 2 chapeaus were credited. Given the proximity to Fox Town we will definitely be back next time......

Restaurant located in an isolated area but close to Mendrisio. In summer it's a great place to eat outside in the cool under the lime trees to escape the heat. All year round it is possible to eat inside where there is a beautiful rustic but elegant room. The dishes are excellent especially the meat. The service is impeccable

From Tuscany with a lot of hunger..... immense satisfaction! I had read reviews and given the short distance that would separate me from the restaurant today, we decided to try it: everything was delicious.... prices in line with the Swiss market and above all with the whole context. If you are already shopping at the super mall in Mendrisio, I advise you to take a break at this very special Grotto. They offer you excellent wines and their typical dish "la sella di capriolo" which would be translated as roe deer back. It is in the hunting period. It is very well served with a typical wine. I advise you! I will be back very soon...

On the occasion of the gastronomic event we ate saddle for a cost of 55 CHF per person. The saddle was of good quality, the only flaw was the cooking which for one was almost well done and the other had a blue cooking. The Brussels sprouts were simply boiled and not braised or stewed, the spätzli on the other hand were very good, the red cabbage was also decent. It's a shame that the flagship dish of the event isn't treated better, a saddle eaten by several people is desirable to be served on a tray and not on plates, in this way saddle has only the name and should be called sirloin. The dessert was very good.

Sufficient. The place is very nice and shaded with lime trees. Food nothing spectacular..I took the pork ribs..with french fries. The tacks (1 piece) were not of good quality and cost a good 29.90 CHF!!!! (you can find the same piece for 7.- at Migros) The dessert went better... a good pear and chocolate cake, my friends a good apple pie and... a lemon cake that tasted of nothing. (I tried it too since he said it tasted of nothing.. and he was right.) and it's serious since we're talking about lemon... a taste very nice.. one last thing that can be improved and that I didn't like as a customer is the waiter who speaks badly of the work of his "colleagues" during service, denigrating them and making loud comments about how they make mistakes and how they shouldn't do, in front of me. finally the price... for the quality... too high.

Excellent restaurant: everything is good, from risottos to pastas, desserts but above all the meat. Furthermore, the large terrace covered by three enormous lime trees is a spectacle. Finally, it is an ideal place for those with children because it has a very well-stocked play area: we never see our three-year-old daughter. Average prices.

Excellent cuisine, with a menu that often changes based on the period and initiative of the restaurant (as well as standard menus from the gastronomic festival, artichoke menu, fondue menu). Generous portions, friendly staff, great service. Excellent for those with children with a beautiful and well-stocked outdoor playground, equipped with all the comforts for the little ones (bathroom equipped with changing table, high chairs).

Outrageous choice of bubbles, only the two most commercial ones (85.- for a pommery champagne), RAPID wine prices (on some I think they go over 3 times the price of the wine in the shop), a very normal fruit cake for 10 people 75.- francs (practically 75 euros)… Normal, traditional Ticino cuisine at banker's prices (29.- for a max 150g tartare) nothing that will justify my future visit. Not even a digestive offered, after a bill of several hundred francs. Many years ago it was definitely a place I would have recommended, now it's a bit of a tourist trap disguised as a typical restaurant.

It is not possible to offer a Rustic salad (warm grilled cheese, grilled courgettes, tomatoes and green salad) for 18 CHF. Coarsely cut salad with pieces of different sizes, a decidedly coarse presentation and a slice of grilled courgette and the so-called Warm Cheese was a simple tomino with grill marks but not at all warm, much less with the classic creamy central part.

Nice cave at the foot of Mount Generoso, has several parking spaces, a children's playground and many places outside. The food is average, the portions are a little small for the price paid, in my opinion the quality could also be improved . However, the service is good and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Very kind young waiter, but unfortunately due to an oversight rice seasoned with butter was served, despite an allergy to casein being repeated and reiterated several times. Unfortunately, apart from the young waiter, no one was interested or bothered to ask or remedy the mistake and the allergic person wasn't even well all evening. When we politely asked the waitress to ask in the kitchen whether there actually was butter or not, she replied in a firm tone that it was not possible that there was butter and that the person should have said it first…Even though it was repeated and asked several times. Unfortunately from this point of view it was a negative experience.

The dish featured was excellent, the recommended Merlot was of modest quality, the final cost of the dinner was certainly not cheap. The serving staff was courteous, the waiting times were good. It's recommended, but don't expect Grotto prices!

Grotto/restaurant that never disappoints. In summer you can take advantage of the exceptional outdoor tables shaded by plants. In colder periods and in case of events there is the possibility of using the large internal spaces. The rich menu allows everyone to make a good choice. Quality food. I recommend the grill specialties from the Luganighetta braid to the pork ribs. The risottos and also the local dishes with polenta are excellent.

Always excellent quality, needles for less than 30.- which never disappoint!
