Very good beer 🍺 that you brew yourself in the house. Cozy atmosphere in the restaurant and a nice bar. Food is okay, unfortunately not always great but not bad.

Attractive ambience, typical brewery style. Very friendly and considerate staff. We had a company dinner in a separate hall. Salad, chicken breast with vegetables and croquettes or homemade spaetzle with a light sauce was not a star menu, but solid and tasty. The highlight was the chocolate mousse for dessert. Based on the overall impression, I can only recommend the restaurant.

Lots of stars don't come by themselves! Nothing for those on a budget! Definitely exceeded all expectations!

We had a wonderful time at Freihof Brewery & Hofstube in Gossau. The food was very plentiful and delicious, and we felt very comfortable. The service was very attentive and courteous. We really liked the charming atmosphere of a former brewery with modern elements. We recommend the Braui Börger and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. We will come back in any case!

The pork schnitzel, there were five of us and we ordered two SS alongside other dishes, was very disappointing. Subjective impression, both were rock hard, far from tender and juicy, the breading was just as dry, very disappointing. Unfortunately, the lemon wedge is no longer the youngest... When it comes to drinks, a small wheat beer was always (!) brought to you instead of the large wheat beer that was ordered, and every time, well... at least it was exchanged without any problems. It is more than questionable whether we will come back soon. The evening was a disappointment.

The last visit to the Freihof was nice. The food is excellent, the service is very friendly and the open, bright bar with the little dragon is inviting and cozy despite the high frequency at lunchtime.

Surprised by the professional service and the good cuisine, which also includes traditional Swiss dishes such as the sausage and cheese salad. The Freihof's success has had undesirable side effects: there are hardly any free parking spaces and you often can't get a table anymore. So make a reservation and arrive by helicopter.

We had a tour of the brewery and got a drink with a pretzel. The waitress seemed a bit stressed. We even played a round of mini golf, which was fun.

I bet they put the frozen cordon bleu straight into the deep fryer! Meat cooked to death and watery cheese and they charge 40.- for that, although it's not even home-made, but according to the waiter it comes from the butcher. I used to be a fan of this place, but today it's unfortunately cheap system catering

The very large terrace was full when we visited. The smooth process and the speed of the service were all the more impressive. As soon as we were at the table, we were already allowed to order the drinks. And a few moments later they were here. Similar with food. Our vife waitress (Mary) was not only nice, but obviously trained in the catering industry. Terrific! When a detail wasn't quite right, one of her colleagues was a bit overwhelmed. The response was stressed and inappropriate. A pity. The fish was ok, but nothing more. It tasted a bit profane. The French fries were pleasantly crispy and not too salty - perfect for me. The chocolate cake had a well-hot liquid core, which is rarely the case in Switzerland. Bravo! The live music (brass music) somehow fit well with the ambience on this warm summer evening.

The service is also generally good. 2 stars deducted because: - an older lady having drinks outside spread a bad mood among the service staff and the awkward guests throughout the evening. - if you advertise on the Internet and at the entrance that you pay with a lunch check, the staff should also know how to collect this and not make you look stupid if you want to pay with a lunch check. Luckily I still had a bank card with me. If payment with lunch check is no longer possible (it always worked so far), it would be good if there was no more advertising. Thank you

A true marvel and Carmen very nice.... Although we spent a while trying to communicate in different languages ​​and then we all spoke Spanish perfectly. Were in the garden this Sunday, the lady named Joanna was just clearing the table, when we asked if the table would be free we were yelled at 🤔 After another 15 minutes when we actually wanted to leave the restaurant, Joanna managed to serve us😱 Last but not least, you brought the wrong one. It shouldn't be, right?

We spent our first date there with my husband and later even celebrated our wedding in the Freihof. Definitely my favorite among the Reataurants. Whether just for coffee or for dinner, I'm always happy to be there.

Fast lunch service and friendly service. Despite the restaurant being full, things went very quickly. About 5 dishes to choose from and something for every taste. However, changes (exchange) to the inserts are not possible. The quality of the food is good, as is the size of the portion. The value for money is really great. There is also a starter (salad or soup). 3x main course including 3x drinks for approx. 60.-. Parking spaces available free of charge.

I would give full marks for the local and the delicious food.... BUT.... what makes such a local extremely special is, like all the others, the service. And this is, unfortunately, extremely unfortunate, terribly bad. I have rarely seen such unmotivated and unfriendly service employees. First you wait almost half an hour until they finally notice you, then it takes another 10 minutes until they are willing to place an order. Not a friendly: “Hello,” that’s where it starts. No clear and distinct pronunciation, if you want to reorder something, the young lady snorted in annoyance and her facial features spoke even clearer words than her unmotivated and visibly annoyed behavior. With all due respect, the service staff are the flagship of a place like this. You expect friendly, smart service that has been well cared for, so you'll be happy to come back as a customer and feel at home. This was absolutely not the case here and I strongly advise you to trim your employees to a reasonable standard. Actually a real shame for your restaurant. It could be done so much better, it's a shame... a real shame.

Will not visit this restaurant again. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was right. But at Züri-Gschnet. and veal cordon bleu, the price/performance ratio is not right at all. The veal in both dishes was barely detectable and the portions were more mini than normal. Only the brewed burger was top, it met expectations.

Went there 2-3 times a few years ago and always loved it. Today was my first time back and I was totally disappointed. Where burger menus are absolutely great in terms of price-performance ratio, others leave only a lot to be desired. Veal cordon bleu for 40.-, which looked rectangular - almost artificially manufactured -, definitely frozen and without meat. (According to other reviews, not an isolated case...) Mixed salads that weren't really mixed as you would expect for the price and also fish that was only partially worth the price. Despite politely pointing this out, not even a coffee or anything similar was offered. We consumed it for just under 300... It's a shame. You can just tell that the restaurant doesn't miss the guests when they stop coming. Basically a lot of potential and, in our opinion, friendly, mostly competent staff. :) Even if it seems a bit chaotic and some things were served incorrectly or twice...

The location itself is really successful and is second to none, the home-brewed beer is also exceptionally good, which motivates us to continue to visit this location. Two stars deducted because we were served schnitzel from the freezer with our meal, which is not appropriate for this restaurant by any stretch of the imagination. We definitely won't be eating there again, especially considering the rather steep prices.

It is very disappointing that good ingredients are used to make such a meal and then offered for such a price. Two main courses with a drink for over 100.-. The coffee was also undrinkable. At first it was cold and watery after another order it was hot and watery. We didn't dare order dessert after that. It's a shame for these rooms, we could do a lot more with them!
