Genussbäckerei Lichtensteiger in Gossau (SG)

Some sweet dishes, such as the chestnut slices or the Zigerkrapfen, are unrivaled. Unfortunately, I have also received products that were no longer fresh, e.g. hard, dried out nut corners. What I've been wondering for a long time: Why does Lichtensteiger - in contrast to the other bakeries - never publish the special opening hours during the holidays on its website? You should actually expect this service.

As a long-time customer, I would like to express my frustration with your personnel policy after being served sick today by probably your longest-serving employee. What could be the reason for such a rapid change in personnel? Why do staff have to work despite illness? In this day and age, according to Corina, it should be clear to everyone that illnesses need to be cured. I hope you'll give it some thought

Products are okay, unfortunately far too expensive. Then again, it's not that good.

Update from December 8th, 2021: I think as a reviewer you also have to have the size to correct a review. I had previously complained that the sellers wore the mask “sloppily”. After hearing that the situation has improved greatly, I visited the bakery again 3 times and EVERY time the masks were worn correctly. I'm happy that this is now working and that I'm happy to be a customer again (I expressly excluded the quality of the baked goods from my criticism). I thank the owner for the email exchange. Old entry: The baked goods are very good, but I don't go shopping here anymore because the employees don't fully wear the hygiene mask early in the morning. The employee concerned was not aware of any guilt; this is ok for me, we are a free country. So I didn't buy anything and went 300 meters to the next bakery; All the saleswomen there wore masks in an exemplary manner. But again: The baked goods are very good, there's really nothing wrong with the quality.

Very tasty baked goods, as long as they are fresh. Unfortunately, I often took almond croissants with me that seemed to be from the day before.

Great lunch menus to take away.

The grain peaks are great. If you go to these shops early in the morning, your day will be saved. Because you can see the smiles on the staff's faces and everyone is so friendly.
