Very large restaurant, which creates a certain canteen atmosphere. The service was friendly but a bit absent due to the size of the rooms. Unfortunately, the house specialty, chicken in a basket, was really not good. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. Too much cooked, there was no sauce and the fries weren't anything special either. The sauce was regular canned ketchup. A disappointment. Sorry, but when I go to a restaurant to eat the specialty, I expect more than chicken that doesn't even come close to the quality of Coop and Migros. The best thing was the salad, it was good and varied. Price of the dish: 30.- with salad

Yesterday we had lunch a la carte for two. We were very satisfied with the food and the service. The amuse bouche with salmon was already wonderful. The dessert of the day was offered and the friendly ladies from the service fulfilled our wishes. Price-performance ratio is very good!

Deer pepper tasted like ram. Plates not appetizingly prepared. Service staff was a disaster. Boss doesn't take criticism. ..........never again........

When the sun is shining, it's not possible to order a coffee on the terrace with the reason: "no service at lunchtime... well, 11:15 a.m...." what a shame... you just move on

Today the two of us were at the Landgasthof Garmiswil near Düdingen. 3:00 p.m., pleasant late summer at 25°. We were allowed to sit on the spacious terrace. Unfortunately we didn't have a really good experience. It started with the greeting. We wanted to eat something “small” and asked for the menu. An unfriendly and overwhelmed service person replied that they didn't have anything "small" and brought the afternoon menu. A small, seasonal offer. Basically no problem. But not a single vegetarian dish. Hardly understandable these days. One person (vegetarian) wanted to order a meatless salad plate and a portion of French fries. “This is not common practice for them and can only be ordered for an additional charge. Extremely long waiting time between salad and main course. We get the impression that the Landgasthof Garmiswil doesn't rely on afternoon guests! The location would be great, nice playground for children. We observe that children and sometimes also the parents of employees are reprimanded very harshly several times. “The tone makes the music!” Guests leave the restaurant without ordering or consuming. There is an unpleasant atmosphere. We have a lot of understanding for the hospitality industry, which is currently not having an easy time. But it definitely doesn't work that way. 😒 👎

Almost every trip here is worth it! Brilliantly good food, very friendly service and more than enough PP in front of the house. We recommend. Please note: dogs are not welcome. Our dog was sitting in the car. It was a warm late summer evening, so it worked without any problems. But there is no shadow. So not for dog lovers in the blazing sunshine or in sub-zero temperatures.

Extremely good restaurant, cozy atmosphere and nice terrace to linger

As an allergy sufferer I wouldn't eat there. Allergies were reported in advance. Nevertheless, both the salad and the main course came with the foods to avoid. After the main course was returned with the information that it couldn't be eaten that way, the plate came back shortly afterwards but was only slightly scratched. When we replied directly to the boss whether it was good and we complained about it, he not only said that he didn't believe it was an allergy but also (and this was even more shocking): they won't die from that little bit! Seriously? Later he had the audacity to claim that he had apologized, which was not the case and was not made up for.

Pretty terrace, efficient but unsmiling service. Amazing seasonal salads (with strawberries!) (I really regretted not having had that!), crispy fries, but tasteless shrimp skewers (despite the sweet and sour sauce served on the side, which was absolutely ordinary) and I didn't like the salad dressing on the side.

Good food at fair prices. We had perch fillets and the portion was very nice. The only thing that didn't impress us was the tartar sauce. The ambience and the view are very nice. There is also enough parking space. The staff was good too.

The BOSS is very unfriendly. She kicks us out of the restaurant after spending barely 1 hour with an order (even though there were 7 of us) A very cold and very haughty boss. We won't come back again. After all there are other restaurants with playgrounds If you go... teach him to say hello and goodbye And courage... if you set foot there

Not my kind of food. So healthy that the plate is overflowing with vegetables (undeclared side dish) and the meat is grilled seasonlessly. The beef fillet was tender yet heavily streaked and oddly shaped. The service lady was very friendly, unfortunately the starter never came.

We were a group of 9 people and ate in the restaurant. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately for vegetarians there is only the vegetable plate and the salad plate. I didn't want to argue at length with the staff about something else, for example a risotto, rösti with vegetables/egg or gnocchi, etc. It doesn't have to be legumes either. Many restaurants in the countryside are still clearly behind in catering to vegetarians, except in certain tourist regions.

The sauces are top notch. Like with fish and grilled food! I've known the restaurant since I was a child and have NEVER been disappointed!

After it was stated in the reservation that a guest was in a wheelchair, a table of 6 was reserved for three people and two chairs were removed. There was very good space for a wheelchair. Access to the restaurant and the toilet was easy in a wheelchair. This experience was very pleasant! The service was very attentive and special requests were addressed immediately. We had chicken, meat and fish. Every dish was beautifully and creatively prepared and tasted very tasty. We thank you for your hospitality and will definitely come back.

If there were 6 or 7 stars to give regarding this review... we would give them with great pleasure. The staff are welcoming, friendly and caring. The cook is extremely attentive to the well-being of the customer and also very generous for a more than reasonable a la carte price... we really sincerely recommend this establishment... we had the pleasure of tasting the game and it was pure happiness !!! To be enjoyed until the end of November. Reservation this Thursday, November 24 at noon in the name of Sciboz. Congratulations to the whole team and thank you!!

The ambience was quite nice. The restaurant was very busy but to be honest I don't understand why. Everything is very expensive, there is nothing vegetarian. Even if you order a green salad, they serve the cheapest meat with it. What you order looks very nice but sometimes they serve you something different than what you ordered. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant.

I was able to enjoy a deer medallion. The meat was cooked to perfection and the side dishes were very tasty. Overall impression was very good! There was also a vegetarian option on the menu. This was less appealing and gave more of the impression of a weekly review. The plate was overloaded and the combination was a bit questionable... A game plate with the usual side dishes would have been a better choice!

Most of the food was poorly made. Had a salad for the starter, it wasn't good at all. The main course was okay, nothing special just food. Although the plate looked like a mess the portion was big. I don't understand why this place was so crowded. The deer, wild boar and rabbit meat wasn't from the EU, a no go. On the plus side the staff was great.

If you want to organize an event "birthday, wedding, corporate evening, etc... this is the ideal place! Dynamic and organized service! Excellent and delicious food! Perfect wines! Superb location! Top organization. Many thanks for everything.

One of the best restaurants in the canton in all aspects, atmosphere, quality of dishes, service... Summer menu to recommend, everything is excellent from start to finish. A legend the Landgasthof of Garmiswil. Renowned for decades for its basket chickens, always delicious, but not only that. The menu is much more extensive and will please everyone. Good choice of wines, nice range of desserts. Traditional kitchen. Large infrastructure, veranda, orangery and a magnificent terrace. Large parking lot. Cordial and efficient service, the boss came to greet us. Gluten-free ones are very well treated.

First of all, if we only had to rate the food, we would give it 5 stars. However, dealing with customers is also part of gastronomy. We felt anything but welcome and valued customers on our last visit. The inn continues to offer takeaway, which is great for us because we live nearby. At first we were ignored at the 'reception', even though the boss herself walked past us several times and saw us. Mind you; there wasn't even a greeting. After a few minutes a service employee took pity and served us. We still had to wait and tried not to get in the way, so we stood near the wall or in front of the small hall to the left of the entrance (which was empty). After waiting for over 5 minutes, the boss wanted to go into this room with guests and shouted at us as we passed that we couldn't stand there. We then informed the service employee that we were waiting in the anteroom at the entrance. After a total waiting time of around 20 minutes (despite having pre-ordered by phone before 11 a.m.), another service employee came out with a bag and asked 'Is that hers?' We said yes and she handed us the bag. We thanked her and wished her a nice day - she didn't say a 'thank you', a 'goodbye' or a look. The food was great, but unfortunately this more than negative experience spoiled our appetite. The Gasthof Garmiswil lost us as customers with this behavior. We would like to note something else: While we were waiting, the boss walked past us several times and we didn't see a friendly look, let alone a smile. Our feeling was also very negative when dealing with their employees. We still wish the inn and especially the great kitchen staff all the best for the future and hope that you might see this constructive criticism as an opportunity for improvement.

As always, the food was highly recommended. Unfortunately, some of the ladies in service could be friendlier when dealing with customers. It's a shame, especially after all this Corona time. As I said, the food was very good, although the quantity was rather sparse. This portion would have been far too small for a “big” eater.
