Gasthaus zur Krone in Sursee

Hipster shed, but only carefully selected people receive the privilege of an invitation. Years of friendship and funny shared experiences are of no use.

I had the opportunity to visit the Gasthaus zur Krone a few days ago and I'm still overwhelmed. It is a restaurant experience of a special kind. When you arrive, you will be personally welcomed by the innkeeper and shown to your place. The restaurant impresses with its central location, the large rooms and the beautiful furnishings. I had a place on the green and covered sun terrace. There you can enjoy a beautiful view over Sursee of the Pilatus Range in a Mediterranean atmosphere and you quickly come into contact with other restaurant visitors. If you ask, you can even get sunscreen with a protection factor of 50+ (I asked for a friend with fair skin who happened to be there too). Despite the small number of only three employees (landlord, server and grill master), the service was always quick and friendly. A delicious strawberry daiquirie was served that was freshly prepared all the time. Mineral water was also always available in large quantities. For beer lovers there was a tap where you could help yourself. What I particularly remember about the dishes was the excellent pasta salad and the delicious meat. The cold kitchen knows its craft just as much as the grill master. The man at the grill always had the different types of meat under control on his grill, which was rather small (in relation to the number of guests), and I received my meat à point. A basket with a variety of fine breads was served for the main course. I would also like to emphasize that the Gasthaus zur Krone is smoker-friendly. There is a small smoking corner on the sun terrace where you can indulge in tobacco in peace. The restaurant is also child-friendly. During my visit there was a family with small children who were visibly comfortable. Members of the LGBTQ+ community are also welcome, as there is a gender-neutral toilet for all visitors. The visit was rounded off with another round of the aforementioned Strawberry Daiquires as we left the restaurant. What is no longer a given after a visit to a restaurant is that the sunglasses case I had stupidly forgotten at the shop was left in my mailbox by the landlord himself two days later. Thank you. I would love to come back to the Gasthaus zur Krone in Sursee.

Although we had to take off our shoes, which was unusual, we were greeted warmly by the host and his staff. The all-inclusive buffet was excellent, but due to our poor time management we limited ourselves to drinks. Any time! We are proud to have now joined the exclusive dinner club. The food is so ok, but the host is unique. The in-house Flämmli are by far the best around Lake Sempach. Would come back immediately.

Does this company no longer exist? I looked for the entrance for a long time, but couldn't find it. I was told this has the best table grill in the region.

Centrally located and easily accessible on foot or by public transport. The roof terrace in particular offers a priceless view over the whole of Sursee. Classic Swiss cuisine with great attention to detail. Unfortunately, some guests couldn't behave, which spoiled the evening a bit. Therefore only 4/5 stars.

A chic medieval ambience creates a cozy atmosphere. I'd love to come back👍 Another lovely evening in the 'Krone'. The large selection of exclusive distillates is overwhelming. Definitely the most intoxicating address in Sursee these days.

Incredible evening, rarely laughed so much.. Wirt always has a great saying up his sleeve. Gladly again!

The stay was great. Cool entertainment for adult children, you can also eat in peace. Does anyone know if there are bicycle parking spaces? I would like to travel by bike next time.
