Since Massimo stopped working at the front as often, things haven't been the same. We've been here several times and each time the pizza was very salty. What a pity.

Hot days under a cool canopy of leaves A little off the beaten path you will find the perfect place to dine and relax in a pleasant and relaxed way (even on days over 30°). The host Massimo entertains his guests with southern charm and a lot of humor under large chestnut trees in a casual and very pleasant environment. Whether on foot, by car or by (e)bike – you feel comfortable here. We enjoyed crispy fish and pizza - simply ordered open white wine - and were totally surprised by Massimo 😊 You can dine here without any time pressure and you won't be pressured to eat or even asked to leave at 2 p.m. - just prime time 😉

For dinner, 3 people Fr. 145.-- Starter Bruscetta, green salad, tomato mozzarella salad. Main course Pizza Principessa, Pizza Calzone and Ossobucco with Spätzli. Osso bucco came first, almost cold (tested with fingers), sauce already stagnant on the edge of the plate and no cutlery. The boss took it back after complaining. Then came the pizzas and then again the “Ossobuco XXL” according to the boss. Must have been a very small cow, there was almost no meat, the marrow in the bone (I love that) smelled strange and the sauce was extremely sweet and full of onions. The spaetzli were drowned in cheese sauce and tasted like the cook-your-own pouch meals. I left 2/3 of the plate standing...despite being hungry. Well, no one asked how it tasted... We left without dessert (unusual for us) Another point: Long waiting time 45 minutes waiting for the main course. This was only our second time in this restaurant and never again.

I was there today with my family and were super surprised by the nice service. Food was also great. We will definitely come again.

According to the news, a great restaurant. But .... Today we sat down for a bike ride in the garden for two. About 8 guests in this large and great garden. Three young men clearing and cashing. No menu or drink menus on the table. No Grüetzi, no hello or we'll be there soon, nothing. All three were at our neighbor's table. No reaction. If that's supposed to be hospitality, then I don't know what's going on in these three heads. Too lazy to work on a beautiful summer day... etc. That was it for us, after about 10 minutes... we looked at the clock, got up and left. No reaction here either. Further ahead in Eglisau we had barely gotten off our bikes when we were already served in a restaurant. 3 minutes to the beer 🍺 .. 10 minutes to the food .... a total of 100Fr. Massimo and his crew just make you feel very welcome. Very competent and uncomplicated service. Here you will still be served with a smile. The food is excellent and the price/performance ratio is very good. The beautiful garden is second to none. We look forward to the next visit.

There were about 20 people, the food was excellent and everyone was happy. Highly recommended especially if there are children.

Very nice garden restaurant under old, shady trees. The staff is always extremely courteous and friendly. Very good pizzas fresh from the oven. Short waiting times. We came with the SUP and were able to leave it on the bank of the Rhine at the footbridge below. A small staircase then leads directly up to the restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch spontaneously. Menu 3: Linguini Frutti di Mare. My expectations were exceeded. Very fine. I'd love to come back.

Today we are back again to this lovely Italian restaurant and without saying we had a lovely lunch with true exquisite Italian dishes, served with the most professional and charming manner. The owner of course showed his Italian personality with warmth, charm and his sense of humor. Great place to be.

Food (salad, menu pizza and dessert) as well as wine and coffee were very good. Portions rather large. Service friendly and attentive. Prices reasonable.

Once more a great experience. This time we were sitting inside the very cozy restaurant. Food was superb: I had "Tagliatelle Frutti di Mare" which was super delicious with loads of seadfood. My wife and daughter both had a filet mignon which was perfectly cooked and the taste was outstanding. Service was very friendly, super attentive, the kitchen was quick to deliver, although the restaurant and the adjoining room were well-visited. Last but not least, the "Capo de la Casa" shows how much he loves to be the host and radiates positivity in every moment. Great experience. We will be back, definitely!

Eternal waiting times, even with few guests. The waiter stuffed another piece of bread into his mouth before serving you. Poor selection of food, for vegetarians there was only salad. Steep prices for poor service.

The patron Massimo is a super nice Italian host…. Relaxed and very committed service staff... it's very pleasant on the terrace under the trees in summer... the food is of course delicious... the ice cream coupes are very good and large... we always like to come back.. And I like how quiet it is is, no street noise...

We were guests for the second time. The first time, unfortunately, the service wasn't quite optimal. but we made contact via email and gave the ferry team a second chance. The restaurant visit was combined with a very nice circular hike. It was super nice, pizza as well as the lasagna, the service was attentive and quick, everyone got the food together (5pers). We will be happy to come back. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy any more dessert because we still had a long walk ahead of us.

Extremely long waiting times to order and pay Service poorly organized, lots of idle times, totally unprofessional Pizzas ok, nothing more This is our second visit on a Sunday afternoon and was also our last time at this restaurant.

Unfortunately we can't say what the food is like because we didn't get that far in 1 1/4 hours. Initially we were told it would take a little longer today. But the fact that it takes 35 minutes to even be able to order was a bit too long. After 1 1/4 hours there was still no food on the table and the waiter told us that the kitchen would only now start with our dishes (sausage salad and bruscetta), we left the restaurant. We were kindly given a drink waiver. All around, the guests ran away angrily, partly because no orders had been taken, partly grumbling and complaining because everything was taking so long. None of them are coming back. Everyone understands when staff are missing. But if the existing staff doesn't know what they're supposed to do and only one person is actually working, all understanding stops. Sorry, but we won't be coming back.

Not so warm today but cozy in the garden

Keep it simple, stay away from the fancy Italian dishes, during summer time take a table outside far away from the kitchen with the load music, order a simple salad, a beer and a pizza and you will have a great time. The place is nice during summer. This could be a nice Pizzeria with outside garden tables, really calm. Tiramisu della mama is great! The staff is friendly and helpful! The more expensive and fancy the dish, the more you will be disappointed. For a "Carpaccio di Salmone" you will get a pack of smoked (!!!) salmon on toast that looks like straight from Aldi for 4.55 CHF, salty and oily as hell. The "Gamberoni alla grillia" advertised as giant prawns, are oridnary small grilled prawns, ok but not much bang for one's buck. For a Italian place the espresso is a disappointment. Keep it simple here! We will come back, for beers, pizza and dessert, nothing more.

When there were few guests, we were neither greeted nor served after more than 10 minutes. I don't need to eat or drink anything anymore. A few kilometers further is the Riverside...I can only recommend it.

What a difference a new host can make. Very fast and friendly service, attentive boss and fine food in a beautiful environment. We'd love to get on the ferry again!

Super italienisches Essen! Die beste Pizza weit und breit! Die Bedienung ist sehr schnell und erfüllt jeden Wunsch. Der Garten ist im Sommer ein Highlight und super gemütlich eingerichtet. Im Winter gibt es genug Platz drinnen, keine enge Bestuhlung wie in manch anderen Restaurants! Massimo ist ein Schatz!

Der Garten ist wunderschön zum verweilen, irgendwo habe ich gelesen es wäre renoviert worden. Kann sein - bestimmt aber nicht draussen. Es sieht aus wie immer.Unser Besuch kurz zusammengefasst: zwei von fünf Gerichten waren ungenügend (Schweinefleisch innen roh und das Gemüse schmeckte nach Komposterde). Wir haben eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet, kleine Wünsche wie einen extra Löffel oder Ketchup für die Pommes werden zwar gerne entgegengenommen, dann aber vergessen. Als der Kellner am Ende noch fragte ob alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit war, war er mit der Kritik nicht einverstanden und wurde sehr unprofessionell pampig.Die Ganze Zirkusnummer lassen sie sich übrigens sehr fürstlich bezahlen. Da werden wir wohl keine Stammgäste. Wer einen tollen Kontrast dazu erleben möchte, sollte sich mal das Riverside ansehen.

We used to visit the place for the generous ice cream coupes and the occasional meal. Always happy to go back ... Until ... the owner changed and we hadn’t been back since 2019 (covid helped in that !). So what a good occasion to visit on a sunny Mother’s Day (we thought). We booked a table as we knew such a splendid place wouldn’t be empty on such a day. So far so good But then it all begun : - waiting for our meal to arrive for over an hour after ordering ! Also a 4 year old ... Come on guys, you must know that the little people are not the most patient customers, at least bring THEIR meal maybe ? It’s just pasta bolognaise.-out of 5 adults and 1 child only 2 didn’t have any complaint -the vegetables had a taste of rotten -the meat was uncooked-the ketchup never arrived (same with the spoon, but we fetched one ourselves)-even the hungry child didn’t eat the pasta as “it didn’t taste good” Cherry on the topping, the waiter asks if we enjoyed our meal and ... well he wasn’t all that friendly to begin with, but his reaction to the complaint just made us certain we will not set foot in that garden again ! Bottom line : food below average, service bad, location/setting good.We are happy to go 800m down the road to riverside where despite the crowds, the service is always impeccable.

Wir wahren letzten Sonntag den 25 April 2021 im Restaurand Fähre. Leider war es das totale Chaos auf der ganzen Terasse. Es hatte überhaupt keine System nur eine gehetze und sehr Nervöse Atmosphähre.Bestellung wurde auf der ganzen Terasse Vergessen und nicht geliefert.Sehr schade um das angenehme Restaurand an einer so schönen Lage.
