A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy home-style cooking. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The portions are generous and very tasty. Can only recommend it.

Top for years...and now there's momentum after the renovation. Traditional cuisine with a lot of heart. Everyone is warmly welcomed and everyone is served in an equally friendly manner. Staff have been working there for years and it is also a paradise for dog owners after a nice walk. More than 100% recommended

Simply great. When I want to show tourists a piece of Himat, I always come here. 5 minutes drive out of the city, the prices are half, but a double portion of friendliness. A beautiful garden in summer. Large portions, hearty and very tasty. Very nice with the children. And the staff is super friendly. Always welcome, there are such great restaurants.

The food (butcher's tea) was a pleasure. The prices are top. Personally, I would describe it as cheap. Little money for plenty of good food. Service was attentive and, above all, there were enough staff. Nothing with long waiting times. It was just homely there and you felt like you were in good hands.

My partner and I had dinner in this very nice Swiss restaurant Metzgete yesterday. Our food was very tasty, the dessert Merengue with ice cream and cream was particularly good as always and the service staff was also courteous, friendly and quick. On Friday we were able to enjoy the beautiful terrace and the late summer weather in Geeren. The atmosphere is cozy and warm – exactly what you would expect from an authentic, home-style restaurant. The highlight of the evening was, among other things, the tartare. This simple but deliciously prepared dish exceeded our expectations. The ingredients harmonized so well with each other that every bite was a pleasure. The natural color of the tartare was refreshingly authentic and a sign that no unnecessary additives such as ketchup etc. were used here. Honest cuisine is the focus here and you can taste it. But what really makes our visit to Geeren unforgettable every time is the hospitality. Everyone makes us feel welcome and valued and thus manages to offer little breaks from everyday life. If you are looking for an authentic, cozy restaurant with excellent food, Geeren is the right place for you. It's just a great place where you can feel comfortable and enjoy good food.

Restaurant Geeren is our personal favorite restaurant. We have been guests here on various occasions alone or with family and friends and have always been served to our complete satisfaction. The service staff is friendly, attentive and accommodating and the atmosphere (with a beautiful, newly renovated garden restaurant) is great, pleasantly familiar and you always feel welcome. Generous portions are offered at fair prices. The quality of the food is above average and the food always tastes extremely delicious. Further plus points are the large parking lot right next to the restaurant and the accessibility of the restaurant (it is therefore also easily accessible for people with wheelchairs). We can therefore unreservedly recommend this restaurant to everyone and look forward to visiting here again soon.

Cozy beer garden. Parking lots available. Super delicious food, croissants and schnitzel super tasty. 👌🏼 and the hash browns are very tasty... Beer is not our taste, but of course everyone feels differently. Nice personel.. Price performance absolutely fair...will happily come back.

Homemade Swiss food in a homely atmosphere. The restaurant is located in an unobvious place and it gives the impression that it relies on local regular customers. I will be happy to visit again.

Very attentive, prompt, friendly service staff. The garden restaurant has been redesigned and is now beautifully open with comfortable chairs. The food is also delicious, but I had the cordon bleu twice, each time it became drier and tougher, and the rösti was also a little dry. But that may also be because the economy was full. The selection is excellent.

I lived next to restaurant Geeren in my teens and twens. Has never been disappointed in my "enlarged living room". It is so nice to sit under the big tree in summer and to enjoy the Geeren classics!

Wonderful country inn in an idyllic, quiet location and yet right in the middle of Zurich/Glattal. Great, big garden. Attentive, friendly and efficient service. The dishes are traditional Swiss without any frills - just like the ones at Grosi's and how we like it! Portions are large enough to fill you up and the price is right for you. I always enjoy coming here!

Fine, home-style food and very attentive service, even when the restaurant is full, as a guest you feel like you are the only one there, something that unfortunately cannot be found anywhere else today.

Unfortunately the chicken was totally over salted. The hash browns were undercooked and burnt. The beer and wine didn't come. The service wasn't very friendly. We won't be coming back.

Durability and good. Friendly service staff and enormously large portions at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, there aren't many country restaurants like these anymore. Wonderful in the summer in the shady garden and then a hike towards Pfaffenhofen.

Since my childhood over 50 years ago, it has been one of the most genuine, heartfelt restaurants in Zurich. Beautiful garden that is currently being upgraded and eating according to the motto: good and genuine is considered right. Gladly again and again.

Zurich country pub!!!! Authentic, truthful and with a lot of rustic touches. The staff is very attentive and friendly, the kitchen does what it promises, you are full and the dessert is the icing on the cake... you can still have a Schümlipflümli, then you can return home comfortably on foot...😉😄 like from grandmother's times... wonderful!!!!

Always worth a visit! In Geeren you get decent portions, that's what I like about this restaurant. Very friendly service and also the atmosphere, as well as the guests. Everything was fine. Fine traditional Swiss cuisine.

There's not much to write about: Simply the best, home-style restaurant in the region. Small but nice menu (you can always find something!), excellent food, top/nice service and all of this at fair prices. Beautiful garden to linger in summer. Always worth a visit.

What else can we say about the honor: THE location for butchers in the region! Food and service very good, atmosphere authentic and the wine respectively. the beer isn't bad either. What more could you want for a cozy or fun evening. Oh yes, I almost forgot: the matching Ländler band also played! Tip: Reservations are only possible for groups of 10 or more (we had to wait outside in the cold for a long time before we were let in - but it was definitely worth it)!

The Geeren restaurant is the last good, old-style restaurant in the surrounding area. Unfortunately the menu selection has become smaller, but you can still eat very well and be pampered by the good service.

Home-style cooking and courteous service.

Always a good place to go for a traditional meal. You cannot make a reservation and although it is always busy they tend to find a place for you fairly quickly. Meals come out quickly and service staff is efficient and friendly.

We had to wait outside for a long time until we found a place, but we were looked after very well during this time. The battle plate was sensational!

Simple and ingenious - like in old times

Very authentic and hearty country pub not far from the city of Zurich. We were very impressed with the Metzgeten and the portions were huge. We particularly enjoyed the blood sausages and liver sausages. Thanks!

We have been coming here for more than 30 years. Home cooking. For all meat eaters, the Metzgeten is supposed to be great. Super quiet location. Staff is very friendly. Nice gravel parking lot next to the restaurant.

Pure wellness…away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Hospitality is lived here… I can only recommend👍👍
