Gelati AM SEE in Zürich

Unfortunately the Gelati am See is closed today, Easter Sunday. It would be wonderful summer weather. Perfect with ice cream. But I'm already looking forward to the start of the season and hope for the melon and coco varieties.

SUPER fine Italian gelati with very friendly service.

I’ve been to both outlets now and am See is really not great. The ice cream doesn’t keep as cold as at the original tellhof, so it turns into a sloppy mess especially in the summer, and the scooper is terrible at her job! Half the scoop is off the cone, and melts off the cone within seconds. Just be warned that this location is not really worth your time

Best ice creams I've tried so far in Zurich. The bad part is that the waiting lines are huge and they usually run out of some flavors, you may have wanted, once it's finally your turn.

Great since the first time x years ago.

10 minutes before closing time we were told the store was closing. Despite the statement, other customers were served after us and not sent away. I feel discriminated against.

Probably not like in Italy, but for CH, good gelati and, above all, good prices

Ginepero gelato and Milk (mini scoop) Gelato. Ice cream flavours offered in western countries are often safe choices which makes me wonder if floral flavours from Birds of paradise can succeed in Western countries. This was probably one or 2 of the only more unique flavor I have seen. Pretty interesting though the crowd here seems to like vanilla or chocolate more.

Great location and inexpensive. However, there was a huge queue and the saleswoman didn't seem to care as she processed the customers at a slow pace.

over-sweetened, artificial in taste, varieties that don't turn on. real tourist trap.

Must try Gelato in Zurich! We tried the Melone and Fior Di Latte flavours! We loved both, and hands down was one of the better gelato places we’ve tried in Europe & Switzerland! Also love that the owner gives a small sample / taster scoop! Super cute presentation!

Great ice cream, but very expensive.

The saffron ice cream was already a favorite last summer. The large cones, which fit into my coffee cup holder on the e-bike, make gelati by the lake a wonderfully rounded summer experience.

Excellent gelati and the possibility of always being able to try an additional variety is very good. Unfortunately, on a nice day the waiting time is very long, 15 minutes.

I honestly don’t understand the hype. I’ve cream was good but not amazing. Staff was very nice. The queue was insane on Sunday. Huge disappointment with the flavors. They had only like 6. Wouldn’t go there again

Great ice cream for 3.5 CHF. There are often queues but it's worth it. The seller is nice and the flavors change very often. You can also taste a second flavor for free which is a really good idea.

Far too expensive for a normal Celati

Friendly service and extremely delicious ice cream. The little ones can sometimes take a small toy with them as a gift. The waffle is crispy. Queuing is only half as boring because there is a wonderful view of the lake the whole time.

Very good ice cream but if you compare them to top Prague ice cream makers, there is still space to improve. Very kind service though!

The gelato is great. The line....not so much. That's the price you pay for being so popular, and in such a fantastic spot. If you can get here when the line is shorter, and not wait over 30 minutes like we did, you'll be glad you were there. If the line is long.....I'd recommend coming back another time.

Nice gelato, good flavors. The quality has gone down lately (e.g. there’s barely any chocolate in the stracciatella), while prices went up.. The service is good (a bit slow).

Delicious ice cream, friendly service! My 8 year old son dropped the ice cream. Was replaced spontaneously and free of charge. Extremely friendly, thank you very much!

The best ice cream in Zurich! The longer queues are worth it... For the little ones there is chalk for painting and a small animal figure on the ice cream, for everyone else a free sample ball to test for the next visit :)

The nicest place in Zürich! Get a scoop of ice cream and a tiny scoop to try. Children receive a cool gift as an extra. No wonder locals people don't mind queuing up for however long it takes.

You cannot miss this place if you are walking along the Zurich lake. There are few other Gelato stand along the walk way but this one is the real one. 💯 Don't let the waiting line scares off you. It's all part of the experience 😉

Fine ice creams for CHF 3.- / scoop. Lime sorbet = excellent. Most of the time you have to queue. Compared to the small Kiosk Ständchen (Mövenpick) it is worth the waiting time.

Fantastic gelato, lovely creamy texture and very flavourful! I would recommend really all the flavours, super delicious! It was very good that if you get a cone with at least 2 scoops, you are given a huge cone that acts well to protect you from having your ice cream melt everywhere. It made for a comfortable walk without worrying that the gelato would end up all over me or the pavement! You are also offered a mini-scoop of a taster - such a treat! It’s these little things that show me why this gelato place is rated a 4.9 with hundreds of reviews.

You usually have to wait in the queue for a while, but it's worth it, slightly different flavors every day, large portions, and you also get a mini portion to try some flavor so that you can make an informed choice later :)
