Gotthärdli am See in Zug

It was super nice, there were 6 people there, everyone had a great time.

The Thai restaurant is located very centrally and in a very unusual way in a rustic, traditional Swiss house and extends over several floors. From the restaurant on the upper floor you can see directly over the lake. The service and the food were impeccable. The small but fine menu offers something for everyone, including vegetarians and vegans, and the prices are reasonable. It was no problem bringing a dog, which I am very grateful for. I'd love to go there again!

The food was excellent and the lady at the bar was very friendly and accommodating. What I particularly liked is the rustic atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

Wonderful small, old-style restaurant. The meal was delicious. The food was an ideal portion size. You can also just have a starter soup, e.g. Order Tom Kia + starter such as chicken skewers (delicious). The Tom Kha soup was just awesome. The service was attentive and very friendly.

The food was good, but the server tried to charge more dishes to our table. Always check the bill before paying.

My partner surprised me on New Year's Eve with a visit to this small, charming, authentic Thai restaurant. The surprise was perfect - the food was phenomenal, the service was warm, and the price-performance ratio was convincing. We definitely plan to return here again, both as a couple and with friends.

Very friendly reception, not intrusive when ordering. Portions generous and a little surprise to start with. Were completely satisfied. We'd love to come back. :-)

We had to wait quite a bit because it was full house, but afterwards we were treated to an aperitif on the house. The service was great and the food was really authentic Thai cuisine! Price range is above $$$ I think you can treat yourself once. Food and cocktails were incredibly good

The Gotthärdli is really small but nice. The service was very friendly. The Thai food was good to very good, but the price was a bit too high. The ambience is not like an Asian restaurant, but it is still very nice.

A cozy place for eating Thai food. The waiters were nice and the place is small but very comfortable. Food was awesome and the price tag was more than appropriate. Would repeat next time I come to zug to taste more of those specialties.

Food ok, ridiculously overpriced. Low price/quality ratio compared to most restaurants in Zug. Unfortunately my experience was bad, the food was ok, but I checked the prices beforehand but they gave me the takeaway prices and we only found out when the bill arrived and the prices doubled. We also asked for the food without pepper and although we asked to change it, they brought it back very spicy. not nice. We regret not having chosen another restaurant to eat at. friendly attention.

Small, cozy restaurant with a terrace right on the lake on the other side of the path. Authentic Thai kitchen. Prices tend to be in the upper segment, but this is due to the city and the location on the lake. Price - performance is 100%!! Gladly again

This Thai restaurant is simply fantastic! It is ideally located at the lake, with a very cozy, well-decorated setting on the first floor (and a cocktail bar on the ground floor). The food is scrumptious and the portions very generous. We tried several appetizers, curries, pad thais and it was always delicious. The crispy duck in green curry is a personal favorite. The staff is also very friendly and accomodating. Highly recommended experience.

An olfactory rollercoaster of flavors! I had red curry with crispy duck breast and my brother ordered fried rice with tiger prwan shrimp. We received beautifully prepared plates with fresh ingredients full of flavor. I was asked how spicy I wanted my curry and I said very spicy. And it was very spicy, which I've missed on my recent visits to Thai restaurants. The boss of the house brought me a knife for my duck breast, which I didn't touch because the duck was so tender that I could "cut it up" with a spoon. From the ambience, to the service, to the food, everything was impeccable and we had an excellent evening. Thanks to the whole Gotthärdli team for this culinary experience <3

Disaster, no respect for the customers or for the reservation. They are lucky to be in Zug, not in Zürich, otherwise they were already with their keys under the doormat. With this dishonest service 😈

Unfortunately, my experience at the Gotthärdli restaurant was disappointing. As soon as we arrived we were ignored and had to wait a long time before we could even sit down. The wait for our food was unbearably long, and when it finally arrived it was disappointing and lukewarm. The staff was rude and unhelpful when we tried to address our dissatisfaction with the service. In addition, the prices were disproportionately high compared to the quality of the food and drinks on offer. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience that will prevent us from visiting Gotthärdli Restaurant again in the future.

Despite written confirmation several hours earlier, our booking was canceled by email shortly before dinner. We only found out about it on site. No explanation, no apology. No time for a phone call or a text message. Never seen such disrespectful behavior in the catering industry. Even worse on the national holiday. Of course, all the restaurants were already fully booked at this time.

Small, lovingly designed restaurant. We liked the Gaeng Panaeng with coconut milk & kaffir lime with crispy duck breast or the chicken version. During our visit, we were particularly struck by the good and very friendly service of the Gotthärdli team. Great this evening!

Disappointed with the service and the food.

When we entered the Thai restaurant, we were warmly greeted and greeted with a nice greeting from the kitchen. At first everything seemed promising, but unfortunately over time our visit turned into a disappointing experience. The service left something to be desired even with the starter. The empty plates were left on our table for far too long and unfortunately flies found their way to our food, which severely spoiled the overall appearance. What bothered us the most, however, was that other tables that were unoccupied were cleared away long before we had finished. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was only average and in no way justified the prices charged for what was offered. There were hardly any special features that you would expect from an authentic Thai restaurant. There are other restaurants nearby in Zug that not only offer more authentic dishes but also at a cheaper price. In addition to the disappointing service and food, the chairs in the restaurant also left something to be desired. They weren't particularly comfortable and contributed to us not really feeling comfortable. Overall, we unfortunately have to say that our visit to this Thai restaurant did not meet our expectations. The initially nice service could not make up for the declining quality as the evening progressed. The prices are unreasonably high for the experience offered and the average food. We therefore recommend exploring other options in Zug to enjoy a more authentic and cheaper Thai meal without sacrificing comfort.

Service and food were good, but the price was a bit high for the portions. The non-alcoholic cocktail for 12 CHF was not worth its price. Nice restaurant, but I don't want to go there again.

This place was a little gem on the lake. The name doesn't really match the Thai food, but it's really really good! We came as a team (party of 10) and went for a set menu, topped with a fantastic Mango sticky rice. Absolutely adored it. The whole team was very happy. Thanks to the team

Very courteous, attentive and friendly service. The food is perfect and filling. Price / offer: Very good. The ambience is lovely plus a view of the lake. Everything perfect. We like to drive 1 hour each way for this restaurant.

Would not be good with kids, I think they should put a sign that the kids are not welcome. Prices are high, but at least food is authentic.

Been there for the first time and wasn't disappointed. Beautiful old building overlooking the lake. Also enjoyed real Thai food for the first time. I now know that medium hot is my limit. I liked that very much.

Exquisite place. It really felt like a unique and fun date experience. From the design of the restaurant (I loved the different levels and rooms), the amazing sunset view, sweet and cordial service, super delicious food and really good drinks too. Will be back! It’s a busy place, which only added to the appeal and intrigue. Highly recommend!

It was a great experience there. The service was very attentive and friendly. We felt very comfortable. The food was great. Large portions and the quality and taste was fantastic. The ambience was also very nice. Small but nice and these rooms made us feel like we were in good hands. However, if you are not comfortable on foot there could be difficulties as you have to walk up one floor, but that wasn't a problem for us.

Fantastically cooked but very expensive. At least the lunch menus have now returned to a somewhat normal level. Still quite expensive for take-away, but incredibly tasty.

Visited the place at least twice a year for 8 years. Staff are always welcoming and prompt. It's a cosy place, warm and clean. Little sitting area outside is comfy and nicely shaded in summer. The bar inside has plenty of cushions. Upstairs restaurant has the charm of a wooden chalet, with plenty of plants. Food has always been delicious and if you crave super spicy food, you will get it! All other patrons i have observed ate everything to the last crumble or took leftovers with them - that's the proof that the food is great and portions are generous. It's one of my most favourite places in Zug. No photos sadly - i was busy eating. 😊

The price of the restaurant is rather in the upper segment. I give it three stars because I saw no justification for the completely overpriced price of my main course. The criticism was passed on to the employee.

Delivery getting worse! Compared to a few years ago, a lot less vegetables and meat. Soon only rice with a bit of curry. What a shame! The last 3 times were disappointing!

Super cool restaurant by the lake with authentic Thai food. There is a garden to sit outside and a beautifully rustic restaurant upstairs on the first floor. The service is super friendly, service-oriented and you feel extremely welcome. The papaya salad and the starter latte are super tasty. The restaurant also accepts lunch checks.

Beautiful place, eat well, small portions, waited 1.5 hours for a starter, asked us if the kitchen was overwhelmed with the 30 more seats across the street, under the linden tree?

From a quality of food standpoint, it was really good. From the starters to the mains everything was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. It just seemed to be a very hectic day with many deliveries. So they forgot one of our starters and we wanted really long for the food. We spent more than 2 hours at the restaurant and the starters alone tool around 45 minutes. 5 stars on less hectic days I assume.

Although I came here with relatively low expectations, I have to say the food was disappointing. Not even slightly authentic in the flavors and somewhat expensive. The outdoor seating was very nice - we got to watch the sunset. They have many more vegan options than I expected on the menu. The staff was a bit tense but friendly. Unfortunately the food is nothing like what one gets in Thailand. Zurich has a reasonably large Thai population so we actually have relatively high standards in the region and can get authentic Thai flavors. (I've been to Thailand six times and I've tried the cuisine all of the country in very authentic places not the tourist ones)

We've been to the Gotthärdli many times and the food was great again yesterday, everything tasted fantastic and the wine selection was great too! We had a very attentive and friendly waiter... What we think is really cool is that you can now sit outside in the summer...
