We eat here every time we’re in town. The food is amazing, and the beer pairing is always spot-on!

Service was superior. They had an awesome choice of craft beer on tap. Best in the city! Dave was a fabulous host and took the time to carry on an insightful conversation with us!

Very friendly. The food is very tasty. There is as well a separate room for family with children. They can serve you in English or German.

Tip top, a slightly different ambience but very stylish. Service friendly, the food plentiful and tasty, we'll be back.

Great bar/restaurant run by amusing Americans. Good range of draft craft beers, 6 on tap plus another 50 in bottles when I visited, a decent cider and reasonable pub grub. The skittle alley downstairs adds to the fun.

Best craft beer restaurant / bar in Zurich. Nice and changing selection of tabs

It was our second visit in 3 years. Second time we were reminded why we do not come back for years although we live in the neighborhood. The brunch was just awful, to say the least, and shamelessly overpriced. Everything tasted like it was reheated from cans or from frozen cheapest supermarket fare. Full English was appalling combination of canned beans, under-cooked sausage, 3 canned mushrooms and one egg that cost over 30 chf. The bagel with egg was swimming in reflux-inducing amount of cold mayonnaise, and fries were burnt little stubs of something that most probably came in a plastic packet from a budget store. Even the beer on the tap tasted like it was hugely diluted by tap water, the same with ice tea - both tasted like rancid water but were charged at an extortionate rate. The host was annoying customers with endless cheeky-chappy chirpy banter, that was obviously meant to distract from the appalling quality of food. AVOID by all means!

Fun place, authentic atmosphere, great food and beers

Delightful breakfast. Cute location, and the service was fantastically friendly. They have a bierlini, which is a house-invented Bellini made with a peach beer. It's a lot of fun, yummy, and you should try it.

Having read the reviews and driven past it so many times, we decided to give this “craft beer” restaurant a try. To begin with, the whole formula seems a bit contrived and unnatural. It has a bar, but you can’t order at it, as they will only wait on you at your table. The beer selection is large, but clearly not curated. This restaurant is buying whatever the beer distributor is pitching this week. Atmosphere and authenticity: 3 stars Several beers on the menu were not available which we only learned when we requested them. Additionally, and this ties into the authenticity issue, beers are served in random and often inappropriate types for the beer style. Beer service and selection: 2 stars. Food here is a strong 4 star, but it is really overpriced and one feels he is contributing his or her share to the expensive rent this location must demand. 34 CHF for fish and chips consisting of one piece of cod (small), seems a bit steep. Oddly, we would probably return at some point if it weren’t for the fact that the manager of the place wouldn’t be so unfriendly and unwelcoming. Also, only two people to serve an entire restaurant on a Saturday night! Expect long wait times and empty glasses on the table. Management: 2 stars

International, English spoken beer restaurant. Always 12 beers on tap, 6 of which change almost weekly. Great craft beers. Fine burgers, also vegetarian and various tarte flambées.

I visited this place to watch the World Cup Final (Sunday Dec 17th, 2022) Location: Located in a nice neighborhood in District 1. If you are close to the Opera House is worth to go walking to the bar. Ambience: It was a World Cup final so there were people cheering for both teams but everyone was so respectful and of course the last hour was really exciting. It has tables for dinner and high chairs in the bar area. Service: The bartender was the only person I saw and he did great. We always felt attended and the service was fairly quick. Food: Not necessarily bar food. They have an interesting menu. I tried the beef and I liked it. Good portion was OK (See the picture) Drinks: They have a good variety of beers on tap and bottles. Wines too. Tips: No tipping in Switzerland Price: Average for Switzerland. About $50 CHF for meal and 3 beers. I am not sure if I will visit Zurich again but if ever, I can go back to this place no questions asked.

The menu offers classic sports bar dishes: burgers, tarte flambée, fish n chips, ribs... The quality of the food is quite good. My ribs were very tasty. However, I complained that the portion of side dish should be larger. The sweet potato side dish was okay, but I expected something more delicate. The brownie was also super delicious! I would have liked a slightly larger portion. The beer selection is a strength of the restaurant, although I find the prices a bit high. And I wasn't happy with the advice - I didn't think my Zwickelbier went well with the ribs. The service was okay. I generally find the prices a bit high, even if the quality is there. I can recommend the restaurant.

Restaurant to absolutely try! Every single dish was delicious and prepared with top quality ingredients. The service was friendly and fast. The prices are in line with Zurich, but the quality offered is far superior. We will definitely return

My favourite restaurant in Zürich. The staff is amazing, they are super friendly and kind: they know how to create a positive, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is really spectacular: we tried basically every dishes on menu and everything is absolutly delicious (the pulled pork waffle and the smoked brisket are absolutely great!). While you enjoy your meal ask for one of their good craft beers of their selection, which changes weekly.

Really enjoyed the food especially as the staff accommodated my request to avoid garlic. I was able to enjoy a delicious lunch ! Had Calamari and squid and fries all freshly cooked. Enjoyed the house white wine too, as I wanted to try a Swiss wine ! Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff and such a great service ! Would highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again !

We have been coming to Grain almost weekly since we moved here four years ago. Not only do they have great food and fantastic varied beer (and amazing Mojitos), they are great people. There is a welcoming comfort coming here. We’ve had events here, used the cool bowling lanes, and have celebrated many things with them. The restaurant is completely child friendly. And when I say that, they are actually child welcoming. We are a family with four kids. Our kids are completely taken care of in every way. We cannot recommend this restaurant, and Dave, enough.

Mixed feelings after my last experience. We are leaving Switzerland on Monday and wanted to have one last dinner with our dear friends in a child friendly restaurant where we have had countless brunches and dinners. From the very first moment, we felt the kids (6 & 5) were a disturbance. At 10pm, as we were waiting for espressos, we were kindly invited to leave “because it’s getting late, specially for kids”. I had not realize that education guidelines came along with the service… too bad that my last dinner in town ended up in such a bitter taste. The 2 young ladies were absolutely charming and doing their best to make us feel at ease but was this last bit really necessary? I get that anyone has a bad day, but for god sake, we do not come to enjoy fried chicken only, but also a great atmosphere. My last memory of Grain and Swiss service will unfortunately not be the best.

Came to Grain for lunch, and I had a delicious nettle velouté and very tender pork ribs, to drink an excellent house tea. The food is delicious. The staff is very friendly and I highly recommend it.

Where should I start. The decoration of this Restaurant is very beautiful and there is very nice staff and service. The food is just amazing. I had the delicious spare ribs with the great sweet potato as a side. As a dessert I had a crème brûlée with a twist. Instead of sugar they used some tasty maple syrup on the top for the caramel. They have a great selection of beer and even a handful of gluten-free beers. All in all, absolutely recommend the restaurant and will definitely come back.

Super Biergarten in Fluntern. Large variety of craft beers, excellent spare ribs, burger 🍔 and pulled meat dishes! Good wines, cocktails and "nice little" desserts - mixed with Canadian, Ohio and Swiss hospitality. That's all you need for a good evening!
