Grand Café Lochergut, menu in Zürich

I went to have a few beers with my Swiss colleagues and I really liked it. It is very international. I will surely return. Greetings to the staff.

one of the worst cafes. service bad. You have to get everything yourself or you simply won't be served. The staff is cheeky and you can tell that they don't care. You do the last lap 1 hour before closing.

Were served by Maria, super nice employees, very accommodating and well positioned. Attention is not lacking here. The cheesecake is super delicious and so is the coffee. We'll be back thanks :-)

🌺 Cute brunch spot in Zurich 🌺 Big portions for a Swiss brunch place and faire prices. However, the quality of the food varied with the dishes. The Shakshuka was a bit taste less and overcooked. The bio egg with the spinach was amazing and so was the Hummud and the Chai Latte.

First you wait forever until someone takes your order, then your drinks are on the counter (approx. 10 minutes) and you have to wait another forever until you can enjoy your "prepaid" drinks. 0 stars from me.

The waitress with the blond hair was really very rude, maybe she should change jobs, in the meantime I'll change places..

Worst experince in Zurich. Waited longer than half an hour for our order. Very rude staff advised us to leave if we don't want to wait. Forgot our orders and mixed the orders. Chaos.

Very nice café restaurant, I'm there every now and then. Service changes but always great. I can recommend eating snacks then the food should also be great.

We (my family and I) love this place! Always a pleasure to come here. The food is super yummy, the service great, and the overall atmosphere relaxed and unpretentious. They also always have great music. We love falafel + hummus + pita bread meal and the fact that they offer gluten-free options. Surprisingly, while Zurich is very vegan-conscious, not many restaurants offer gluten-free possibilities. And when you have a celiac person in the family, you appreciate the ones that do even more.

Overrated! Service unfriendly as if you were in Berlin. Food very good. Drinks ok. Not worth the money.

An institution you can rely on at any time of the year. Friendly service, Mediterranean dishes and good-tasting drinks make this Grand Café a meeting place for society. Whether new, a regular customer or a tourist, everyone feels at home here. It is simply beautiful!

Whether for brunch or an ethnic meal with Mediterranean influences, Logu is always a guarantee. Fresh, tasty and well-prepared food, with a quality/price ratio that is rather rare in Zurich. Impossible not to want to go back.

Good amount of place, nice/cozy atmosphere but it is not like you are very close to the other people. Can get a bit loud but I just liked being there especially given the fact how hard it is to find a place to drink a cup of tea or eat sweets after some hour in Zürich

Beautifully fresh food, small medium, large plates. Not your usual. Corner position with lovely afternoon sun. Definitely go again.

Amazing food but very slow service. Sadly if you wanna seat outside and enjoy the fresh air, you will smoke even if you don't smoke. They don't have tables outside of non smokers and it seems that this is the place for the smoking people to get together. I had to change 3x our seats in order to eat&drink without getting the smoke direkt into my brain.

The waiters here - at temporary level - are an imposition, they are overwhelmed even with simple service tasks. There is a reason why there is training in the catering industry.

Unfortunately, we went for breakfast, but they told us that breakfast is only on weekends. We only found croissants and coffee. I hope this is explained in Google Maps.

EDIT: After a few years not coming here, organized a work event here. We were indoors, and the day was warm, so the sliding doors were open. Unfortunately, there were three people smoking less than a meter away from our table, resulting in all the smoke coming straight in and onto our table. When we asked if we could close the sliding door, this was met with resistance - and eventually, not closed. Next time, we won't host our work event here.

Love this locations, fantastic for drinks but would be perfect if it was self service because waiters make sure to make you feel bad. Guaranteed. After dozens of times I’ve been here, I can say I love the cafe but I intentionally try to avoid any contact with service staff - which is easy because they avoid you anyways -. Pity for such a good location, can easily improve to be a gem but “the race to disturb and make clients uncomfortable in Switzerland” is big.

I have often been a guest at their restaurant (lunch), the food is great and always creative ideas, the boss (one of them) is friendly, the service lady is unfortunately not in the right place; very cold, doesn't speak in complete sentences, she does her job with total lack of love and passion, it's a shame for the location. As a guest you don't feel welcome, but rather that you are a nuisance.

Great place and nice decoration but the waitresses seems a bit unhappy and the avocado bagel I ordered was not so great. The avocado itself is pretty liquid, disappointed taste and not worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend this menu. However, the rest are super cool. Dirty chai latte is really good as well!

After 4 visits in the past 6 months, I can say the food is always very good, but the brunch menu is quite pricey for the quantity you get... And, while I understand ordering at the bar if you sit on the terrace, I can't understand why any waitress or waiter would ask that customer to carry their own tray with drinks outside... Otherwise, if the place is not packed, the service is really nice.

Very tasty break at the weekend. The chicken shawarma is very good.

The shakshuka was rich contentwise though I found it a bit salty, the coffee was strong enough to wake me up after the first sip. Very quick and friendly service.

Overall a nice cafe. We tried their cheesecake and chocolate cake and both very delicious. The waitress serving us seemed slightly unhappy to be there and was not very attentive, but the rest of the staff seemed very nice. There was no space outside, but it’s understandable as we went there on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The tables inside are slightly squished, would be nice to have a bit more separation for more privacy. Prices were standard for Zürich.

We had an aperitif outside on the street. The service was nice. I had to wait a relatively long time for the second beer and you could tell that it had probably been ready for a while before it was brought to the table. But the location is nice and it's exciting to sit outside and watch the people on the street.

Dropped in here for lunch (Jan 2022) and we were lucky to get a seat. Looks to be very popular with the locals. Service was very friendly and after we ordered the food was delivered quickly and efficiently. Food is more of the healthy bent rather than the normal café food we go for. The food was very nice. We sat at the front of the café and peopled watched whilst eating lunch and there are some very interesting people in this area of Zurich. Not being a Swiss person not sure if the price was good but based on what we have seen the prices were reasonable.

Simply the worst and most unfriendly service in the city of Zurich.

Four of us went here for dinner in the evening. The service was extremely attentive, courteous and efficient. The food was just “wow” and the atmosphere was very pleasant. For four people with wine and an appetizer we paid a total of 190 francs (without tip). Thank you for this experience in the Zurich gastronomy scene.

Great atmosphere and fine mezcal

Friendly service, food was good too, but unfortunately the wrong thing was served twice. Especially critical if you make mistakes with gluten-free bread... and you wait too long.

Unfortunately, the cafe closed at 11.20 p.m. despite the closing time of 12 p.m. stated on the internet. Thank you for the unfriendly rejection with an arrogant look 🤡.

Horrible brunch place, loud music, no space to seat and eat. Shakshuka = straight out of the can, only tomatoes, no onion, no pepper, no flavor.

Lunch was good. Had the Spinach Salad 🥗 which was ok hut could have done with more flavour. They forgot the Feta, but i informed the waitress and she quickly brought me a bug portion to add in! My friend had another dish and it was delicious 🤤. Service was nice and friendly. Tables were a bit close together, would have been nice with a bit more privacy. But still a good experience. Nice coffee too!

Perfect for brunch on Sundays. A restaurant with an individual and imaginative menu. Vegan and vegetarian options included. Very busy on Sundays, so some patience is beneficial. Service nice. A place not intended for those in a hurry to linger. A hipster / LOHAS place for Zurich residents.

Cool location and good food. Service could be a little more accommodating. When asked if they had a child seat, they replied: “yes, you can get it there”. Would have appreciated it if she had brought it. With two small children, your hands are full. It was also quiet, there weren't many guests that needed to be served.

*Brunch* We came for the first time here and loved both the location and the table they gave us. We went for a poached egg, pancakes with strawberries, and a pain au chocolat. The food was average, probably below our expectations. To me the pancakes tasted a bit artificial (rather chewy and very sweet). The ice cream wasn’t our favorite either. The egg was good, however it was served with a tiny piece of bread. The croissant wasn’t that crispy either, it didn’t give me the impression it came straight out of a bakery. This said, I am definitely going to try their aperitivo and will consider coming back for a drink.

Great coffee lovely to meet friends and chat. Haven’t eaten there yet but the menu looks awesome, will be back. Very reasonable prices, especially for Zürich ;) will update after I’ve tried the food but I definitely want to go back. It’s cosy and casual but really nice aesthetic. Staff on point too.

The restaurant is easy to reach by public transport (right next to the Lochergut stop). Delicious food with lots of vegan options.

It took about 20 minutes until we were served. And this is the second time. If you're looking for super bad service, you've come to the right place.

Stopped by for a quick drink and bite. The service was very nice, the aperol spritz was big and tasty, and the pita and hummus were very delicious. There’s a lot of seating outside and it can get kinda noisy because it’s by a crowded street with traffic.

Racial bias explained by Lochergut Grand Café: Black (Swiss) friend of mine and me entered the restaurant. Asked if we could use the bathroom. Their answer: ‘yes of course - welcome to Switzerland’ Welcome to the most racist café in Switzerland
