Amazing place, way less busy than Locarno/Lugano, beautiful views, great service and of course food! Really loved the Baita Spritz as well. Just be mindful of many steps if you decide to walk up on foot and have cash ready (or Twint), as you can’t pay with card.

Hidden gem. A sophisticated grotto with a nice view. Menu is updated regularly! And trust me: yummy yummy.

When we reached the slightly hidden grotto, we were warmly welcomed. There was a cozy fire burning in the fireplace. The fine cuisine is already outstanding, but I have rarely eaten such good polenta. My companion was also very pleased that her dog was very welcome and was given water straight away without being asked. We would be happy to come back

Despite our language deficiencies we were able to call for a reservation (recommended) and order without issue. It was also our first time in 2.5 years attempting to have dinner at a restaurant with our 3 year old ( the last time we tried she screamed the house down and we’ve been scarred from trying again) and it went very happily thanks to the thoughtful and lighthearted service. The food was fantastic and the restaurant was beautiful as well, we highly recommend.

Beautiful grotto above Magadino with a magnificent view of the Magadino plain. The osso bucco and brasato were perfectly prepared, the polenta was a dream. La Baita is as much a part of our Ticino holidays on Gamborogno as Amen in church :). we're looking forward to next time!

Magnificent Grotto which is worth it. Indeed you have to find it to get there, but once seated at the table, it's a treat. However, don't forget to book otherwise you risk traveling for nothing.

Finalmente dopo una primavera non delle migliori ieri c'è stata una giornata fantastica e cosa fare? andare al grotto a pranzo con gli amici.Abbiamo deciso di recarci in questo locale che offre una cucina tipica da grotto con piatti nostrani e con una location fantastica, il panorama che si può godere sul lago Maggiore e specialmente sulla zona della Bolle di Magadino è qualcosa che ti lascia senza fiato. Per quanto concerne il locale, lo stesso non è grandissimo ma ti da quella sensazione di coccole che puoi ricevere solo indeterminati posti dove la qualità viene prima della quantità. Il titolare è una persona molto cordiale e competente con una gran passione per i vini e dalla carta si può intuire.... Noi abbiamo spaziato su quasi tutto quello che si poteva degustare, dagli affettati ai formaggi per seguire poi con la pasta e continuare ancora con ossibuchi, tagliata e coniglio terminando con i dolci (tiramisù, sorbetto, semifreddo e panna cotta) tutto veramente ottimo. Per quanto concerne il prezzo è molto corretto e onesto per la qualità delle materie prime che utilizza. A poca distanza inoltra vi è anche un posteggio dunque non vi sono scuse.... andate a provare ne resterete sorpresi! complimenti e alla prossima

Grotto La Baita is located at a wonderful spot, on top of Magadino. The road is sometimes very narrow, be prepared to handle two way traffic on little roads. Once arrived next to the restaurant, parkings can be found a few metres further on the road and then again at the end of the road. The Grotto is located a few steps from the road up the hill. A beautiful view over Magadino and the Lago Maggiore greets you. The Grotto is beautifully designed, a mix of historical old and modern elements. The rain-resistant "roof" allows to eat outside even if it rains. The service was very friendly. Food was very good, my meat (Beef in Merlot sauce) could have been a tad more tender though. The home-made deserts tasted very good, too. This is definitely a spot you should visit while in Ticino. The view and atmosphere is out of this world.

Very cosy place, the food is great from starter to dessert. You should try Gnocchi with lake fish spice, tagliata and ossobuco. Very morbid meat and very well cooke. Tiramisù is very good and you cannot miss digestive liquors ( mirto e nocino ). Staff extremely friendly and hard worker. We will come back.

we have been there twice in a week and it was just only perfect. the meals, e.g. tagliatelle al ragu di cinghiale, risotto, coniglio and polenta.... everything delicious! the service was great and the owner was sharing a lot of stories. great experience! we‘re coming again

Eine Reise Wert, Speisen Wein Dessert, einfach nur top! Kleine Karte dafür alles frisch zubereitet. Reservieren ist besser da nur wenige Tische.

Wir durften hier ein wunderbares Nachtessen geniessen. Preis/Leistung stimmt auf jeden Fall. Der Service war professionell und sehr aufmerksam, die Küche bereitet die Gerichte sehr lecker zu. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder gehen und dieses Grotto empfehlen. Sehr gemütliches Ambiente, da es nur wenige Tische im Innenbereich hat.

Es war ein wunderbarer Abend auf der Terrasse im La Baita. Hervorragendes Essen, freundliches Personal und Massimo, der Gastgeber der sich selbst um die Gäste kümmert. Perfekt wir kommen wieder :-)

Abbiamo cenato ieri sera alla Baita. Eravamo in tre, abbiamo scelto gli ossibuchi con con contorni diversi. Tenerissima e gustosa la carne e ottimi sia il risotto, sia la polenta e le verdure.Personale e proprietario molto gentili e disponibili.Posizione incantevole.Ottima scelta di vini.

Das Grotto liegt etwas versteckt oberhalb von Magadino. Man erreicht es über eine enge Bergstrasse, dafür wird man mit einer schönen Aussicht über d. Lago Maggiore belohnt. Wenn man d. Tessiner Küche liebt, ist man hier genau an der richtigen Adresse. Es schmeckt als ob die Nonna in der Küche gestanden hätte. Das Personal ist freundlich, zuvorkommend, flexibel und witzig. Jederzeit wieder

Situé sur les hauteurs de Magadino, le grotto La Baitra (cabane en français) offre à ses visiteurs une vue superbe sur le La Majeur, Locarno et sa région. L'accès se fait par une route étroite et des places de stationnement sont disponibles. La carte est petite mais propose d'excellentes spécialités tessinoises traditionnelles. Beau choix de vins locaux et italiens. Le patron, originaire de la Sardaigne, veille au bien-être de ses clients. Les prix sont corrects compte tenu de l'endroit. L'accueil et le service sont bons et professionnels. Recommandé (cuisine et emplacement).

Niché sur les haut du lac Majeur au dessus de Magadino, nous y avons mangé le 20.08.20 à midi. L'accueil est au top, les plats vraiment succulents... Surtout les desserts (panna cotta et Tiramisu). Merci pour ce bon moment et à bientôt.
