Grotto Lauro in Losone

I’ve been there since the new opening another 7-8 times and every experience has been straordinary! From the service to the exceptional food. Prices are very fair and the portions are very generous. The atmosphere is a typical cosy grotto, it’s very welcoming and nice. Service is outstanding, staff is very nice and helpfull, they also suggest very good dishes and wine! As mentioned before, i higly reccomend this grotto! Well done Grotto Lauro!😊

I have known Grotto Lauro for 14 years and it has finally found its former glory under new management. The Vitello Tonnato and the homemade bread & grissini were particularly outstanding. I will gladly come again. Compliments and thanks to the entire team

We went to the Grotto lauro by pure chance, but I must say that we didn't regret this choice at all. Very nice and welcoming location, impeccable and kind service. What can I say about the food, we had a plate of polenta gnocchi with gorgonzola and walnuts which were spectacular, also the appetizer with cheeses, cured meats and local/homemade jams which were really delicious. Delicious desserts. Super recommended!

We visited the Grotto Lauro in the past few days. Kind and efficient welcome. We tasted various proposals from the autumn menu, all pleasant and well cooked. Don't miss the sweet endings too. The lemon cake is fantastic! Excellent quality/price ratio. We will definitely be back in the next few weeks.

Once again I took a break in this wonderful place. It's always beautiful here.

On Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in front of a closed door. We waited 30 minutes - in vain, even though that was written on the board. It's a shame, it used to be a great grotto.

Very nice fine dining experience. Wonderful service, excellent food, and beautiful atmosphere. If you're in the area, I'd recommend going. We had the tomato onion salad, pasta with tomato sauce, risotto with sausage, and braised beef with polenta. The wine selection is also very nice. They gave us complimentary bread and prosciutto at the beginning. They gave us commentary lemoncello at the end.

I really do not recommend this Grotto. They made spegetti worse than german part of switzerland. Portion size is awfully small.

Beautiful grotto with a Ticino atmosphere. The food (Coniglio with polenta) was good but not so high that I would necessarily have to go there again. In terms of price, it's on the higher end. The staff is friendly and the boss welcomes his guests!

Ein Grotto, wie es im Buche steht. Gutes Essen, vom Küchenchef von Grund auf selber zubereitet. Man spürt, dass in Küche und Service Dienstleister tätig sind, die noch wissen, was ein Gast ist und erwartet.

Das junge Paar welches das Grotto Laura seit etwas zwei Jahren mit grossem Einsatz führte hat leider aufgehört. Auf der Homepage ist das leider nicht vermerkt. So waren doch überrascht, dass wieder die vorherigen Gastgeber am Werk sind.Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und auch der Küchenchef - wie früher - voll in seinem Element. Leider kann man das vom Servicepersonal nicht behaupten. Es dauert lange bis wir einen Tisch zugewiesen erhielten, trotz Reservation. Auch merkte man gut, dass die Arbeit keine Freude bereitet.

A nouveau de passage au Grotto Lauro après de nombreuses années d’absence, nous avons retrouvé l’ambiance conviviale et la touche du patron qui font le charme du lieu. Repas de très bonne facture avec une excellente sélection de desserts. Le vin rouge ouvert est excellent: nous avons goûté un merlot local (Artù) et un vin italien; cela laisse jauger la qualité de la liste des vins en bouteille! Service attentif et très aimable! Le Grotto Lauro reste une très bonne adresse.

Gutes Essen, Gutes Ambiente aber die Preis Leistung stimmt überhaupt nicht! Der Wein ist durchschnittlich 95.-/ Flasche und auch die restlichen Preise sind für ein Grotto mit Liegenschaft im Familienbesitz völlig überrissen! Wenn die Preise in Arcegno sogar die Preise vom Nostrana an der Piazza in Ascona topen stimmt etwas nicht! Schade!

Como parte de nuestro viaje culinario por la región de Ticino en Suiza, me siento mal por tener que dar una mala crítica. Hace unos años, como la Gruta "Lauro" todavía tenía diferentes dueños, todo estaba sabroso, sobre todo theor coniglio. Habiendo estado allí una vez más, y con nuevos propietarios, debo decir que la calidad de cada plato pedido ha disminuido. Por lo tanto, no pondría un pie en esta gruta bajo los propietarios actuales. Una pérdida de tiempo y papilas gustativas.Los precios han subido a la "luna" comparándolos con los de los antiguos propietarios. . .

Neue Geschäftsführung durch das Deutschschweizer Besitzerpaar. Wir wurden freundlich bedient und sie waren sehr bemüht. Ist halt nicht mehr das Ambiente & die feine Küche von Antonio.

Ambiente carino e caldo, buona accoglienza, servizio curato. Carta non molto ricca di proposte, ma curato.

Herzliche und familiäre Bedienung. Hervorragende Küche. Absolut empfehlenswert. Ein Besuch lohnt sich, auch wenn das Grotto etwas von der Stadt abseits liegt. Genügend Parkplätze, kinderfreundlich, unkompliziert, grosszügige Oeffnungszeiten.

Nach unserem letzten Besuch sind wir der Meinung das Grotto Lauro verdient eine neue und höhere Bewertung von uns.Die einfache und klare Präsentation, die hohe Qualität und der tolle Geschmack der Speisen, einfach nur top.Das glutenfreien und warme Schokoladenküchlein zum Schluss war einfach nur ganz grosses Kino.Für die Freundlichkeit des Services gibt es 5 Sterne.Und für die Preis/Leistung können wir nicht anders als 5 Sterne zu verteilen.

Wir sind am Morgen zufälligerweise auf einer Radtour da "gelandet" und haben uns aufgrund der sehr netten Bedienung und der Speisekarte entschieden, zum Nachtessen wieder vorbei zu kommen. Wir haben sehr gut gegessen, Vorspeisen, Hauptgang, Wein, Bedienung - es hat alles gestimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt ebenfalls. Das junge Wirtepaar macht einen sehr freundlichen, aufgestellten und engagierten Eindruck.

Allein der Weg von Brissago hierhin war den Besuch schon wert. Etwas abseits in den Bergen gelegen, muss man schon etwas besonderes bieten, um Gäste zu erreichen. Das Risotto und die Polenta sind es vielleicht nicht unbedingt, aber der Rest ist ein Erlebnis: Kräuter und gute Zutaten bieten ein seltenes Geschmackserlebnis, was hier in der Gegend schwer zu finden ist. Wir hatten Kalbsragout und Kaninchen, beides top.Die Bedienung war aufmerksam, freundlich und schnell. Die Location ist urgemütlich, liebevoll eingerichtet und dekoriert. Sauber und gepflegt (auch die Toiletten). Parkplätze sind direkt davor vorhanden.

Das Grotto Lauro in Arcegno darf man sich nicht entgehen lassen. Wir waren letztes Jahr dort und auch in diesem Jahr schon zwei drei mal. Das junge Wirtepaar Livia und Antonio leiten das Grotto mit Herzblut. Von der herzlichen Begrüssung über die absolut frischen und erstklassigen Speisen bis zur Verabschiedung, es stimmt einfach Alles. Sehr zu empfehlen ist der Salat Lauro, einfach ein riesen Genuss. Die Pastagerichte sind frisch und mit Liebe zubereitet. Die täglich zusätzlichen Gerichte welche nicht auf der Karte sind werden am Tisch angeboten. Wir können euch das typische Tessiner Grotto nur bestens empfehlen. Viel Spass und en guete

Das Grotto Lauro besuchen wir schon seit Jahren .... auch noch wo das Wirtepaar vorgängig dort war .... zu dieser Zeit war es kaum möglich einen Tisch zu reservieren !Vor Drei Wochen , nach langer Zeit wieder mal ein Besuch ;Eine Katastrophe!Die Wirtin zwar freundlich aber hat absolut keine Ahnung von Weinen .Die Küche: eine absolute Enttäuschung! Kein Herz und keine Ahnung was Risotto ist!Ein fader Reis , flüssig serviert mit einer Kruste von einem nicht definierbaren Käse ! Ohne Geschmack ! wie Milchreis!Der Ossobucco, Fad! Und zäh!Der Salat ; kaum Sauce!!!!Schade schade .... die Zeiten im Grotto sind vorbei ! Auch noch genügend freie Plätze in absoluter Hochsaison ! Tja ...... viel Glück weiterhin und liebe Grüsse AB Ein Stammgast der keiner mehr sein wird .

Wir gehen regelmässig ins Grotto Lauro, da wir es eines der besten Grotti in der Gegend finden. Innen wie aussen ist es gemütlich und angenehm gestaltet. Die Gastgeber Livia und Antonio empfangen einem jedes Mal herzlich und man fühlt sich sofort zu Hause. Antonio ist ein ausgezeichneter Koch, welche die Tessiner Küche gut und modern umsetzt.

Ursprüngliche Tessiner Menüs mit Spezialitäten der Tagesangebote, die persönlich erklärt werden.Rustikales Ambiente mit vielen kleinen persönlichen Details ausgestattet, bis zum feinem italienischen Weinangebot. Aber auch der Hauswein passt bestens zum Grotto.Vom riesiger Salat bis zum erstklassigen Kalbsragout, alles war herrlich zubereitet und sehr würzig.Sogar die Schlussrechnung wurde in allen Details erläutert und ein persönliches Gespräch über die Geschichte des Grotto’s durfte nicht fehlen.Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder!

Waren mit den Bikes unterwegs und kehrten in diesem urchigen Grotto ein. Feine und sehr grosse Salatschüssel mit Beeren, Früchten, Nüssen, Burrata etc. Mein Mann bestellte ein Tessinerplättli, auch sehr reichhaltig. Freundliche Bedienung und schönes Ambiente.
