The Grotto Raffael is always a guarantee, I ate the menu, a bread soup followed by rabbit with polenta, all very good. Compliments to the chef and all the staff 👏👏

I always have fun finding restaurants and getting to know them on site. The grotto is typically Italian, small and cozy with a roaring fire in the dining room. Today it was mostly attended by men, but that didn't stop me from taking a seat myself. I ordered the menu in the form of soup, schnitzel and risotto. What can I say, just good and the price at 17.- is quite reasonable. As you prepare for the summer, tradesmen were still busy around the house. I can imagine that there will be a lot of mail in the summer. Thank you very much, anytime again.

What's so nice here is that the people of Ticino eat here

Great service and very fine food and particularly good wine. We went on a club trip there in the summer with almost 20 people.

We had a wonderful meal at this large Grotto with a beautiful and extensive terrace area. We had the a risotto and gnocchi. The portions were large and the food was delicious. Price was reasonable for the portion size. The staff was kind and helpful. We would return to try other menu items and enjoy the outdoor area!

Came here with some colleagues for lunch. The grotto is large, has a terrace with several tables and also some indoor seating, but if the weather permits it, eating outside is great. I had a mixed salad and as main rabbit with polenta. The food was great, portions a bit tiny for my hunger. Coffee was watery. They have an extensive menu and the quality of food is impressive, prices ok, on average. P.s: The young waitress was extremely nice and worked hard, thumbs up for her. Overall Grotto Raffael is a very good option if you're in Locarno area.

Ticino on the table A beautiful, typical grotto with a beautiful, large garden shaded by old trees, which invites you to linger even when the temperatures are high. The staff and the boss are extremely friendly and very accommodating. The Grotto offers typical Ticino cuisine, prepared from local ingredients. Despite the size of the location and the sometimes large number of guests, the food is prepared perfectly and served at a perfect time. The portions could be a bit larger. But that's my feeling. For my personal recommendation, the Brasato, I would have liked to have enjoyed a slice more (which is why one star less). And yes, this Brasato, a dream. The cooked braised beef melts in your mouth and is accompanied by a wonderful sauce on the palate. A very special highlight of the Grotto Raffael is the boss himself. After supporting the service very diligently, he doesn't miss a beat and picks up the guitar and pampers the guests with Italian songs. This wonderful addition perfectly rounds off the Ticino ambience and ensures everyone has an enjoyable and atmospheric stay. Perfetto. Conclusion on our visits to the Grotto Raffael...we always enjoy coming back and being pampered with culinary and musical delights in this wonderful, typical grotto. Ticino not only on the table, but also around it.

Beautifully located, always live Ticino music with fine food on Thursdays. The Costini and the Indian salad with onions are simply delicious.

My dear grandfather was a good customer of the Raffael grotto. This grotto is probably one of the best if not the best in Ticino; the food is excellent, the quality is exceptional and the staff are really friendly and nice. Really highly recommended in all respects!

Very nice grotto in Losone, relatively easy to find with a bus stop and wonderful to sit there under the trees 🌲 and enjoy gnocchi al salvia. Prices are manageable with granite tables and nice staff, which you have to keep in mind since it's further out than in Locarno, people can accordingly less good German just for your information 🍽️🌞.

We went as a group, we ate ribs and risotto, all really excellent, perfect and very tasty ribs and risotto perhaps one of the best... really friendly staff, the owner certainly played the guitar for all the customers outside... We will definitely be back very good.

Very nice grotto with a large outdoor area. We reserved a table for a Thursday evening. Upon arrival we were seated at a table with other guests. Less than 5 minutes later a couple came who hadn't made a reservation and were allowed to sit at a table for two. Something like that doesn't work, hence the star deduction. The food and the Ticino live music were very good.

We were able to come to the restaurant very spontaneously. The staff was very friendly and accommodating even on the phone. The restaurant is in a great location and very rustic. The musical entertainment was great. However, I wasn't impressed by the food and wouldn't come back.

Delicious brasato with polenta. The Ticino songs performed by the boss rounded off the evening perfectly, as did the great tiramisu. Now in spring we had asparagus risotto. I am looking forward to the next time!! The grotto is well booked, advance reservation helps to avoid disappointment.

Exactly a grotto you imagine. Large terrace and plenty of seating, very friendly staff, especially the grotto owner Raphael, who charms his customers with his easy-going and hospitable manner. Particularly noteworthy was his spontaneous musical performance with the guitar, which put the guests in a positive mood for the meal. The food was well prepared, only the fried potatoes could have been cooked a little longer. The price/performance ratio is completely right. We recommend.
