Friendly and personable service as well as delicious food. The ambience is typical and just right for a grotto.

Small but nice grotto. Great ambience, good service, competent advice and a nice selection of local winemakers; including Sacha Pelosi (the star for me). Great prepared meals. We had osso buco with risotto and (meatless) bramata with cheese. 😋

An absolute MUST for all grotto lovers. Not far from Lugano, beautifully located and simply TOP! Nice ambience, great service and the food is world class. We will be back.

Small characteristic Grotto located on the main road to Pazzallo. I found all the dishes very good, from the starter to the dessert, the portions generous without being exaggerated. We had a "reserved" menu so I didn't get to try the a la carte menu. If you are passing through I recommend it. Worth trying again in the summer to take advantage of the outdoor space in the shade of the woods.

Nice location in the woods but the outside is very cold and not very welcoming, there are no chairs but uncomfortable benches. I chose to dine inside, the room is quite welcoming with a few tables, I chose this restaurant because the reviews were positive, but the experience disappointed me. I chose a single dish. I thought I was eating a nice grill which was the specialty of the restaurant. restaurant, I wanted to enjoy the grilled ribs with sausage and fillet but what they served me was very disappointing, the meat was overcooked and the ribs were cold only the sausage was hot so conclusion the dish had been cooked at different times, this way I don't find it professional. The dinner overall left me dissatisfied so I do not recommend this restaurant

In this period of heat, the search for a cool place could only lead me to the Grotto Morchino in the shade of its plants. On Simone's advice we didn't miss anything... The very soft gorgonzola gnocchi, strictly homemade, were a summer dream... Their “tiramisu”….I dreamed about it for a few nights…. I can only recommend a visit to this enchanting place

Extraordinary food in a family setting. If you are in Lugano come here. Order what they suggest and you will not be disappointed.

Good food but little choice and overpriced

Boss was very unfriendly. The food (3×Ossobucco, 2×Coniglio) was very modest. No sauce could be ordered, pasta instead of polenta was almost impossible. A disappointing evening for our group of 5 people. Don't come anymore.

We went to this tavern on the first evening of our holiday on Lake Lugano. We took ribs cooked on the grill and braised beef with polenta. Never eaten such good tacks. It is an excellent tavern and I recommend it.

A very friendly and delicious “Grotto”. The team is welcoming and helpful. We had a nice platter of cold meats and cheeses as a starter. Then a Polenta with beef. The restaurant is located on the 1st floor. It is better to book. Everything was delicious.

The Grotto Morchino is a wonderful grotto. Not only is the food excellent there - the service is also top notch. Very attentive, multilingual and extremely friendly. I even received an extra portion of polenta - I made it at home the next day - and logically, thought of the grotto! This is how you make customers happy - siete bravissimi!

Came on a weekday at 20:30 and was told I needed a reservation even though there were four tables outside and the inside was completely empty. I would probably avoid.

The restaurant is between the trees at the top of the mountain and with the sound of the trickling water, it is fun, comfortable and relaxing... The service is excellent and the staff pay attention to the details of the order, as this was appropriate for us to communicate our requirements as Muslims, as they understood our lack of meat, chicken or alcohol... We ordered a very delicious vegetable soup and a mixed salad. Fresh, pasta with red sauce and other with white cream.. All the varieties are very delicious.. We wished the pizza was available.. I liked the restaurant very much and those in charge of it make you feel like you are at home.

It's not recommended for tourists because during weekends You need to make a reservation 2 days before, We went there spontaneously because we found out what we want to eat in there restaurant for example the polenta or the risotto which is the specialty in the area.. and surprisingly they can't take us because of reservation. Grrrrrr Disappointed!

Very friendly grotto. The service is warm and courteous. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until I got home that the plate with a small portion of risotto for my grandson wasn't charged for. We will go there again next time. It was super fine🤗. Highly recommended.

Very nice location, really great food and excellent service. Very rare combination! We ordered a la carte and with starter, first course, second course and coffee we spent around €45-50 per person. One of the best grottos we have ever eaten at! Compliments!

After a mountain bike adventure with a friend we decided to stop and eat at the Morchino grotto, at the entrance we kindly asked the owner if there was room for 2.... the owner saw us dressed in bicycle clothing and rudely told us he sent away saying that there was no room for 2... despite having completely free tables and the internal room totally empty! Unfortunately I won't want to go back again...even though in past experiences I've found myself quite well.

A true grotto experience, amazing food. I personally recommend the Brasato Beef with Polenta or the Osso Bucco. Service was Authentic and we felt very welcomed! The Panna Cotta was out of this world. Great place, excellent food. Chef Alessandro buys all products from local producers. BML beer is great, Divicio wine with a wonderful taste, also local. A grotto where quality and service are the watchwords, excellent dishes, as well as a beautiful presentation of the dishes, cooking as per the customer's request (no shoe soles if you ask for rare meat), I recommend the "house" red wine excellent value for money. Great food, quite rustic and homely. The pictures on the website are no longer up to date: There is a new roof terrace and the beds around the restaurant have been redesigned. Absolute plus point: We were there with our little daughter from the hotel, which was a 5-minute walk away. In the evening we were NOT able to walk back to the hotel due to the lack of footpaths and street lighting and since taxis are too expensive (as the nice waitress said) she drove us back to the hotel in her car. Just nice!!! Thanks :-)

They have a great menu selection far from sparse. The food was hot and very well presented and sooo tasty. Portions perfect. Not too much and not too little. The friendly (German speaking) Chef who explained and tranlated the menu card for us. Great friendly staff and service. Starting with a delicious mixed salad (the dressing is a miracle) we ordered and received high quality entrecote and fillet (grilled) with delicious side dishes (baked potato with a sour cream heavenly made, green beans - and tomato salad). Only regional products served! Red wine 'Barbera' was a perfect match, same as the beer selection from a small private brewery. Finishing with the best panacotta dessert we rather had a just perfect dinner! Thank you so much, we will be back on our next Lugano visit 😊😊😊 A perfect evening for dinner without any compromises. Beautiful restaurant with incredibly friendly, attentive staff and a German-speaking owner who translated the menu for us with the patience of an angel. After a starter salad with a divine dressing, we had entrecote and fillet of beef with perfectly doneness from the grill, with baked potatoes (the sour cream!!!!), green beans and tomato salad, both excellently dressed. The quality of the meat (only local products, as we were told): outstanding. For dessert, the best panacotta with red fruit sauce that we have ever had. The red Barbera and beers from a small local private brewery went perfectly with the meal. Lots of superlatives, completely deserved. The restaurant has been renovated and is very nice, but the new owners are not hospitable enough for my taste and the meat did not meet my expectations.

Excellent dishes, friendly welcome. The chef worked in several major restaurants before returning to his native Ticino. An exceptional address and Grotto, refined, traditional dishes such as polenta, brasatto at more than reasonable prices. Let yourself be tempted by the red wine from its own organic vines, a purely...divine divico! As for the place, both the terrace in summer and the typical grotto in winter are splendid. I've known this place for decades. Intimate and warm grotto. Excellent cuisine and grill! All self-produced or zero km. Overall one of the best Grotti in Lugano. Superlative fillet! Super quality/price.

Very warm welcome and super friendly staff! Typical "Grotto" restaurant where you eat really well, using very high quality regional products. The rabbit was so well prepared because just by touching the meat it was already separating itself from the bones, which she has incredible control over! The polenta as well as the saffron rice was very delicious. For the red wine I don't even have words, simply sublime! I recommend it to all people who like to eat and drink, especially typical local Tessionoise food, but not only that... Not expensive at all, I was surprised at the price. Highly recommended and definitely worth doing again! See you soon !
