We went to the Grotto al Morign in Pontirone, a unique, special place of its kind with attention to the smallest details...Then the Ribey steak, very good in cooking and flavour, the rostbiff melted in your mouth, cheese platter and cold cuts platter which were really very good and finally the tiramisu which was truly delicious. Everything was presented with so much love and passion, the service was excellent, the very good chef put their heart into everything they do.. Honest price, corresponds to the quality. We have been to the Grotto Morign several times and we can say that every time the atmosphere is welcoming and makes you feel at home. The cuisine offered is undoubtedly the protagonist. Even a typical mixed grill becomes an experience! Each course was a joy for the palate. It is clear that the chef puts great passion and care into the preparation of the dishes, just as Luana puts it into the management of the Grotto in all its particular details. Homemade tiramisu is a delicacy! The grotto is immersed in the breathtaking nature of Val Pontirone and the panoramic view of the mountains contributes to creating a unique atmosphere. Value for money? Absolutely satisfied! The prices are more than honest considering the quality and attention that is dedicated to each dish. On the other hand, those who want to eat well cannot expect the usual Fast-Food prices! We can't wait to return! Thank you

Unfortunately we weren't satisfied... Found everything very expensive. My meat for 37 Fr. had a lot of inedible parts - for the price I expect great meat. They simply served us the starter plate with more on it - which wasn't much - and then clearly asked for more without asking. It was strange that the quickly handwritten price list was asked for again - as if the prices had been made spontaneously? The waitress couldn't explain the dishes properly. Coke wasn't even refilled properly... We think tiramisu for 11 francs is too much. It's a shame because we were looking forward to this grotto. We've experienced some better and cheaper ones... We don't think 170 Fr for 4 people without dessert is appropriate - it wasn't a star-rated kitchen...

A beautiful gem in the Blenio Valley! Luana is an excellent host and runs this idyllic grotto with a lot of love, dedication and taste down to the last detail. The veal osso buco with homemade tagliatelle was sensational. The tiramisu is an absolute highlight - freshly made and never eaten so creamy and crunchy. Mmmmh... We'll be back soon and would highly recommend it! A presto!

We were here outside of the holiday season. That's why we were the only guests apart from 2 workers who wanted something to drink. The location is unique in the great outdoors. The only access from Malvaglia is long and only on narrow mountain roads. But it is very quiet. All you can hear is the water and the birds. Here you can really unwind. There was only 1 menu and a small selection of dishes. But you know that if you go to a grotto often. Everything is fresh and very good.

We stopped for lunch after being in the mountains. Luana, the manager, is very kind and helpful. As soon as we arrived, seeing that we had the dog, he immediately brought us a bowl of water. Excellent quality food and good portions, we left more than full. Super recommended whether you are in the area or not.
