I was there for a dinner, friendly staff, they take care of everything with the minimum attention! Excellent food!

A real scam!! In fact we ordered a bottle of local merlot for 45.-...the waiter told us he no longer had this one but offered us another as an alternative. On the menu the next merlot was 50.- the meal was fine (not great) and when it was time to pay we had a cold shower the merlot tasted was in reality 85.- just 40.- more than what we wanted.. We called the room manager who confirmed to us that his server was not right and as a consolation prize he offered us a limoncello which we refused, swearing that we would not come again... That's the restaurant. grotto type at Scalinata. A word to the wise!!!

We are already regular customers at Scalinata! Top food (typical Ticino specialties) e.g. the Ossobuco or Capretto is highly recommended, of course with the typical Ticino polenta. Very tender meat can be peeled without a knife. The new, large, renovated terrace has a very nice atmosphere. The nice young waiter, with short dark hair, also does his job excellently every time. Price performance also very good. Really recommended!

We organized a birthday party with around 25 guests, the meals were very good (first tortellini, second polenta and braised meat) the service was good, we started at 12 and finished with coffee at 3.30pm. Service ist katastrophal, unbedingt große Geduld mitbringen… Essen ist total überteuert und fast nicht genießbar, Menü mit Vorspeise gemischter Salat , war nicht angemacht, man erhielt Salz und Pfeffer als Zugabe 😡 Zicklein als Hauptspeise war kein Zicklein eher eine alte fette Ziege 😡 Beilage Bratkartoffeln ohne jede würzung nicht mal ein Körnchen Salz 😡😡, Aber dafür lag ja das Salz am Tisch bereit 🤔, Nachspeise Plan Cotta war einigermaßen ok wenn auch das portiönchen für 10,50 eher eine Gelddruckmaschine darstellt 😠 Zum bezahlen , damit man den schönen Ort wieder verlassen darf brauch es wiederum gutes Sitzfleisch und gute Nerven, Teilweise wird man einfach ignoriert 😡 Für einen salat 2 mal alte Ziege eine mal gnocci als Vorspeise und 1 x Palma Cotta durften wir 115 Franken abdrücken 😉 Fazit : auch im Urlaub darf Man mal einen Fehlgriff machen , Nie wieder werden wir diese sehr schön gelegene Lokalität aufsuchen und können es auch nicht empfehlen 😉 Ein Stern für die Lage der Lokalität.
