Güterhof in Feuerthalen

Very successful ambience inside and out, the food tastes very good and the service is impeccable. That's why I'm happy to come back to the Güterhof at any time, just like last Saturday evening, when we spent a wonderful evening with the finest food and friendly service despite the live band being way too loud and the Riesling soup served lukewarm.

We wanted to have an aperitif on a Sunday morning. When we sat down at a table right next to the bar, the waitress came straight away and wanted to move us to another small bistro table. The German was difficult to understand. She didn't ask what we planned to consume, but obviously wanted to keep the table reserved for more prominent guests or if more people came together (round table for 4). Then please make this clear with a reserve. We didn't want to sit at another table in the middle of the people who were having brunch. So we left again. A very bitter disappointment as we often went to this restaurant for aperitifs and meals. We will think about this carefully in the future. A pity.

The food came quickly, was very tasty and the service was very friendly. Nice atmosphere, great menu! Unfortunately there is no take-away.

You should be able to divide the reviews externally and internally. Because outside is great (if the weather is right) inside is a flop. The outside is great except for the service, which is often too short staffed, so you have to be patient. Unfortunately, the entire arrangement inside was redesigned a few years ago so that it is extremely impractical and the view of the Rhine is obscured by the bar. The live music we encountered there was so weak that we have never returned since.

I discovered the good old Güterhof again. Stylish restaurant within historic walls. Good wine list. Friendly staff. Large terrace directly on the banks of the Rhine and at the boat mooring.

I got a salad I didn't order from a server who was rude at best! The place is beautiful and right on the river, the decor is spot on but it cannot compensate for the unfriendly service and the lackluster food. It must be said that the bartender was super friendly!!!!

Were there for brunch. Absolutely recommended. Always fresh bread. Eat as much as you want. 1 welcome prosecco simply awesome. The only reason why 4 instead of 5 stars. There was then a variety of lunches around lunchtime. I was extremely happy when I saw that there were croissants with ghackets. Unfortunately the sauce was a bit bland and didn't taste good. The meat was also very fine-grained. Not my thing. But still, thank you very much

The staff is always friendly, but unfortunately the kitchen is no longer what it used to be. Last time I visited, my steak tasted like nothing, zero salt, no marinade or seasoning on it. It helps me to say, we tried it too, the meat was okay, no more, because the meat has to be okay, but if I'm going to eat out, everything has to be seasoned. Today I didn't want to finish everything and wanted to take the leftovers with me, but instead of packing everything in the kitchen, the waiter packed everything up on the table. I just can't believe this. We had ordered Jack Daniels and Chivas, the waiter couldn't remember which was which. But unbelievable happened. The whiskey glasses were full of ice, we had to fish out the ice cubes with a spoon. Where is the freight yard going? It's really a shame. Such a great location and everything was really much better.

What an amazing restaurant and surrounding areas! I visited with my family during the months of August - September which made the weather top tier. The restaurant counts with an indoor space but the magic of the restaurant its the AMAZING front terrace with the unbelievable views. You feel like you are in a fairytale. Just imagine yourself having a really nice lunch all while contemplating the river in front of it. The service was amazing, super professional and fast, and the food was delicious. It also has a great little area to walk around and do some local shopping. Definitely a local place that showcases the best of the best of Switzerland.

Beautiful terrace and there is always something going on. Unfortunately you have to wait too long for the condition. It's best to order as soon as the drinks arrive.

Beautiful old timber-framed building with very friendly staff and the food is just awesome. We were here for Silvester evening and we couldn’t enjoy our evening any better. A big salut to the music band who plays and sings memorable songs. Thank you Güterhof. We come back soon again.

Great location in a very well located place that invites you to linger. The food is simply top class. There's no other way to say that. From the starter to the main course to the dessert, everything was 1A. The service was also super nice and very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Food was very good. Apero arrived late, with the salad...chairs rickety, stained and weave frayed. Toilet facility is getting old and Paint off.

6 person's we start biking from Winterthur to eat there , nice location , the burger and home made fries was good , they understand that we don't know exactly when we gonna arrive and they hold the table reserved for us between 12 and 1 o'clock and was possible to charge my bike battery there as well , for sure we will come back again 🍔🍔🍔 Bdw the desert was delicious also

First there was bad wine and then we had to wait 30 minutes for our nachos. KELLER A full of chaos... In the summer you can sit outside very well... we just had something to drink. A nice place to just drink coffee and enjoy Sunday with little snacks

Service could improve. The approach is not bad but can clearly be improved. The chef does a good to very good job! Please work on the service. 1. Please pack food to take away and do not leave it to the guest. 2. Act friendlier 3. Ask if it tastes good, not after 5 seconds. I hadn't even taken one bite yet ;)

There is a minus in front of our star. We were treated so rudely before we had anything on the table. We ordered a cappuccino and asked if there was passion fruit juice, the answer was a curt no. So we ordered an apple spritzer. Before we could order our ice cream the waiter was gone. We called out in a friendly manner, to which he came back and said in a completely mushy way, "What's up, with us that means please." We got up and left, whereupon he scolded us. He was probably having a bad day. Well, luckily there is a nice little restaurant a few meters away with very friendly staff.

What miserable unfriendly service! Actually located in the best place in Schaffhausen, with decent food, but the disrespectful, arrogant manner of the service staff does not advertise the beautiful town.

I had the pleasure of visiting Güterhof in Schaffhausen and I highly recommend it! The food was exceptionally tasty and freshly prepared. The variety on the menu offered something for every taste. However, what really made this visit stand out was the outstanding service. The staff was extremely attentive, friendly and always willing to accommodate our needs. They made our evening an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was also very pleasant and the tasteful decor contributed to an overall great evening. Everything was great, especially the service was remarkable, very friendly and attentive. The terrace is awesome in summer, the best thing you can do after a bike ride on the Rhine. I had the tarte flambée and was very satisfied. I'll be back!

Something has changed. I was last at the Güterhof about 1.5 years ago. I'm shocked at how their prices have gone up. There were 6 of us! and got 5 pieces of bread with a little olive oil and salt for the aperitif. The food was good, but the value for money wasn't right for us. The service was very nice and that's why it's 5 stars. We won't go there anymore. A pity.

The food was extremely tasty. Nothing wrong with starter to dessert. Very nicely prepared and served quickly after ordering. The wine recommendation was very competent and extremely generous. We were allowed to taste 4 wines to make a final decision. Every bottle became Try newly opened. There were four of us and we sat on the terrace by the Rhine. The interior looks majestic with the high ceiling and the rustic beams. The service was extremely friendly, competent and personal, something that is rarely found in Switzerland today. Thanks!

The food (flambée, penne) was good. The menu is small but nice with vegetarian options. The staff was friendly after initial reluctance.

Although the Güterhof is a well-known address in Schaffhausen, I was disappointed with my visit. A year ago I was served the same expired drink twice, even though I reported it. The service was unfriendly and seemed extremely stressed. Unfortunately, today I had to notice again that the service staff was not attentive because we had to wait a long time to pay for our drink order. The service employee also ran away rather cheekily after asking if he could eat something small (10:45). Very disappointing.

Okay I will be honest, I didn’t actually eat here. Why? The waitress has to be the meanest person I ever met. I don’t understand why they are open on weekdays in the afternoon if the staff is in such a bad mood.

Very nice and cozy in this restaurant whether directly on the Rhine or inside. High ceiling with lots of wood, very warm atmosphere.

Nice as always, my salad was good and on Fridays there is live music there, the volume of which doesn't prevent you from continuing to chat.

Why open on Sundays when every single waiter is in a very obvious bad mood? Nothing worse than a moody bartender!!!! Does he need the drink more than you????

Well-intentioned 3 stars. Quality went down, prices went up. The service in the catering area (terrace) often leaves a lot to be desired. However, the service in the restaurant is very good. The menu could be a little bigger. Edit: We're happy to take a look every now and then. My rating may also change accordingly if we have more good experiences. We are of course aware of the problems in the catering sector. Unfortunately, along with the quality of the food and the ambience, the service is one of the most important points that make a visit a positive or negative experience.

Really nice restaurant - fancy inside and out and our waitress was friendly. I ordered the Egli with potatoes and it was very oily. Overall still a good experience, but the oily fish isn't something you expect to have on this price-range.

The 4 of us went there to eat sushi. The restaurant was almost full. The staff was very friendly and served us very quickly.

Didn't meet expectations. We would have to return the wine because there was something in the wine that didn't belong there. Shouldn't happen in a store like this. Not a large selection of wines. Sushi has no place on the menu, I don't think the chef is an expert at everything. Dessert poor

Right on the water and a good place to relax. The beer is good, as is the food. But the location also requires higher prices, but they are worth it. In winter the mulled wine ship is there and this is the next recommendation 🤭👍

Last Friday we were guests at the Güterhof restaurant on our office outing (62 people). The tavolata was amazing. The service was top and the location was very nice. We were able to enjoy a wonderful team event on site.

Since I know my stuff, I know what I'm writing. Many other, incomprehensibly bad reviews do not give this impression. There are also bad guests.

We had reserved a table for 9 people at 7 p.m. (6 adults, 3 children 6,9,11). Apart from the price/performance ratio, which is no longer right, was the fact that we had to leave the restaurant in a hurry because the disco started at 9 p.m. If a restaurant offers something like this, it must also be able to serve its guests efficiently and be able to serve the menu including dessert until 9 p.m. This was probably not possible due to an obvious lack of staff. Our daughter started crying because of the extremely loud music, so we were forced to eat dessert with the children while standing in the desolate courtyard. That's not possible, sorry!!!! Nobody was interested either. In addition, we weren't sitting in the actual restaurant, but right at the front of the entrance, where the door was permanently open from 8:30 p.m. because of the arriving partygoers and cold people came in. It probably wouldn't have been so loud in the actual restaurant, we actually had the speakers right above us. We have known the Güterhof for years and have often been guests, but that...No thanks!!! The only positive thing to note was our very nice service, she apologized several times because some things with the food weren't as they should be. She's not to blame, it's clearly a matter for management. So unfortunately thumbs down for our visit to the Güterhof.

Fantastic...as a location....as a setting and as food

So the prices for the quality of the food are not really justified. Crispy fish with boiled potatoes was both oily and fried. The expensive veal cordon bleu was dry and hard. I've eaten better in canteens. Great view when sitting outside.
