Happy Wok in Basel

Service was so very friendly and generous. Food was fresh, healthy and very tasty. Ambience not too much, not too little, but very simply furnished. Also very bright and clean/hygienic.

Friendly family run restaurant, tasty noodles and reasonably priced. Worth travelling out from the cente of the city and only 5 minutes walk from a tram stop. Would return if I visited Basel again.

By far the best Vietnamese food in Basel and the surrounding area. You don't find such authentic dishes everywhere. The portions were large and the service was super friendly - we would love to come back!

Superb Vietnamese food the Peking Sweet and Sour Soup was the best I ever tasted. Wonderful Roast Duck dish and Deep Friend Banana and ice cream were awesome. I highly recommend this Restraunt it's run by a very nice friendly family as well. I will visit often

We had a lovely evening at Happy Wok. The innkeepers are very kind and take great care of the guests' well-being. I was even allowed to order a “freestyle” dish that wasn’t on the menu. We'll be back again

Am thrilled! The food was super tasty, the portions were generous. In addition, everything was well packaged so that it didn't leak and everything arrived fresh. The soup was delivered incorrectly, but was exchanged immediately after a short phone call. Responded very friendly and professionally. I'll definitely order from there again! I can only recommend.

We enjoyed a great dinner at Happy Wok. Both the pho and the chicken fried rice were delicious. A couple of beers and a perfect evening.

Under new management (and still the "same family"). The selection is large enough and the food tastes good. The green curry, for example, has an authentic, intense taste of its own, unlike other curries elsewhere. The service and the ambience are very pleasant. Only, I would also like tap water.

Atmosphere is nice and cuddly for such a little space, food is very good and if you like it more spicy, they fullfill your wish. Prices are fine for what you get.

Not only is the wok happy, I am too when I eat here. One star less just because there is no parking in the area.

Edited october 2022: this place continues to delight. Try the Pho Bo. The broth is full of flavour, I always finish it, it's so delicious! Look out for the Vietnamese specialities on the menu, they are authentic, tasty and freshly prepared (those complaining on these reviews that the wait is long don’t appreciate the difference between freshly prepared and reheated food). The take away service is great too. My boss ordered several kinds of spring rolls for our Christmas party and everything was neatly packed, including salad mint and sauce. It was a huge success at the dinner table. This is a friendly and good quality family business well worth supporting.

I am Vietnamese and this is most Authentic pho I had in Switzerland . I have tried many other places and none of them come close to this one. The broth is rich and flavorful, portion are generous, staff is extremely kind and nice. The locals may prefer westernized pho at Knock on wood, but the true Asian should go to Happy wok for authentic experience. Switzerland is such a sad place for Vietnamese cuisine and after living in Vietnam and South Cal, I was extremely disappointed with the options here but Happy wok had restored my faith that some great chef do end up in Switzerland.

Let's call it edible. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I felt like not the best ingredients were used. The oil was also so hot that it burned your tongue minutes later. The restaurant was very tidy and clean, the staff was very friendly. There was no check of the Covid certificate. Affordable prices at lunchtime (menu with chicken CHF 15).

Very clean, very friendly, extremely good. We “landed” here by chance while passing through. We have very rarely been able to enjoy such warmth and such good Vietnamese food. You can see once again that an inconspicuous restaurant can achieve such achievements in the face of tough competition. Hats off and keep it up, we know where we'll eat next time we're in Basel.
