I think the Haug bakery is very good, I don't know what the review writers are thinking, I ordered a cake a year ago, I was served very friendly, I was also asked when I would like to eat the cake and told what I should do, in the refrigerator or room temperature. Simply great.

Very delicious, everything at a good price. They have a menu of the day from 18 chf. Quiet place, kids friendly. They have cooked us a chicken without salt upon request. Very friendly service.

In this traditional pastry shop/confectionery you can experience Swiss quality at its best. The well-known saying “The eye eats with you” comes to life here, because our sense of sight connects us with the world in a special way. As soon as I walked past, I was magically drawn to this pastry shop and decided to try it out. It offers both a pastry area and a restaurant-café - and the presentation of pastries, cakes and tarts in the pastry shop is simply impressive. Just the sight of it almost triggered a drool reflex. So I let myself be seduced, took a seat in the beautifully designed café and ordered a delicious chocolate cake and a double espresso. Although the café's actual specialty is various ice cream variations, I found myself drawn to other treats in colder weather. The chocolate cake was a real highlight - it wasn't an overly sweet sugar bomb, but an authentic chocolate cake. The taste of the chocolate was clearly noticeable and remained present long after consumption. I particularly noticed the small but extremely tasty chocolate bar that was given to each guest - a loving gesture. The service is excellent, the good Swiss unobtrusive hospitality. I look forward to returning in warmer weather and allowing myself and my guests to be seduced once again by this outstanding pastry shop.

Cozy coffee with fine food and good croissants

The quality is really good... but if you want to enjoy a coffee with friends there in the afternoon and would like butter croissants with it, you are encouraged to get them yourself from the store. We understand something different by service - especially in a venerable company with proud prices.

Unfortunately, one of our menus was not of sufficient quality. But the team reacted immediately and provided an alternative, which was perfect! That's how service works - we'll be happy to come back!

We have had the best ice cream sundaes for as long as I can remember. The ice creams are excellent and accompanied by fresh fruit for a reasonable price. I recommend this place to eat a cup of ice cream.

The Sunday plait was pretty doughy on August 13th, 2023. The taste of the braid wasn't good either.

Very nice confectionery and coffee house, a bit like the old days when there were still such cafes that deserve the name is located below the Schwyz National Museum and I think it's a cozy cafe to be in too 📚📰.

My wife and I regularly buy cakes from Café Haug in Schwyz. There is a large selection and the cake is always uniquely good! We often have raspberry cakes made for invitations, which always look perfect and taste great. I recommend Café Haug warmly recommend to everyone!

Delicious food and confectionery. However the Asian old woman had a very bad attitude and was not suitable for the customer service role unfortunately. The rest of the European waiters were well behaved and cultured. We ordered salamon eith veggies as well as salads.

This morning at 11 a.m. I visited this honorable house with my wife for a birthday coffee and cake. The counter service took our cake order, collected it and sent us upstairs. She said she had nothing to do with the cafe. We had barely sat down when another lady rudely asked us to change seats. All seats would be reserved because of the lunch guests. One and only There would be space at the bar! But the cafe was empty. We didn't plan on staying all day to cater to lunch guests Taking away eating space. Very disappointed, we gave up the excellent culture of hospitality and left the cafe. We had to take the cake with us because it had already been paid for. The same thing happened to two seniors who entered after us, they were simply sent away. Fortunately, there are very good alternatives in town with more pleasant hospitality. Only 1 point on the likeability scale out of a possible five.

No good coffee and unfriendly service throughout the canton. Straightforward and taciturn. You don't feel like a guest but rather like an annoying problem that you want money from. The bakery is super tasty and friendly.

Table reserved, politely asked for the table, then was said "Yes, then you can sit down!" in a wonderful tone. Unfriendly staff. Bad service as if you didn't need it. Won't be eating there anymore.

We actually like to go for breakfast...or take cake or bread home with us because we love the quality and variety. However, we have noticed the service in the café several times because of their unfriendly behavior. If we go for breakfast again, we will not be offended by this unfriendly service and will ask for another service. It's a shame, we complained in the store...we were told that several customers had already complained about this lady.

First impression was good. The restaurant appeared clean, well-kept and was beautifully decorated considering the circumstances. Unfortunately, I don't think it's enough for 5 stars because my order was delivered incorrectly. I ordered a “Schoggi-Gipfeli” and got a hot chocolate. For me it is a must that the order is executed correctly. Furthermore, the bottom of my croissant was burnt and the surface was too crispy and well browned given the circumstances. In general, I don't think the price-performance ratio is optimal: a lukewarm coffee costs CHF 4.50. Therefore in my opinion only 3 stars.

It's a shame that the staff is totally overwhelmed and there's nowhere to find a boss who offers support

I was happy with everything. The staff was very cheerful and friendly. When I arrived the restaurant was moderately full. Some tables were reserved, but I got a table without a reservation. The decor is dated, but I liked it. The Valais Rösti I ordered was delicious. The plate was a bit too hot, but everything was very fresh. The card payment was smooth. I find it very exemplary that the restaurant has still been a family business for more than 120 years.

There are wonderful sweet things of all kinds here. Something for everyone. One better than the other. Whenever we're in the area, we stop there. The service is very nice and attentive. We recommend.

A cozy coffee house on the upper floor that offers menus but is also a popular meeting place for regular guests. When you leave, you can buy regional confectionery specialties to take home on the ground floor. I think this is an ideal combination.

Very nice place with even more delicious pastries! A lovely terrace, although without the view, and a very friendly service makes this place a pleasant alternative to the expensive and snobby other main square places. The meals are good, except for the rice that is not really Asian style despite Asian guests and Asian personal in the kitchen. Maybe it is time for the cook to learn from his staff !

Disappointed that Cafe Haug used to be such a good address. Unfortunately unfriendly and incompetent service today. We won't be returning to the Haug any time soon.

Arrived by chance around 1:30 p.m. at 6. We were made very welcome. On the terrace, in the shade, quiet without city noise. The dish of the day was excellent with a small salad as a starter. The children had knopflis with cream, ham,... they loved it. For desserts, for those who were still hungry, we took some pastries to take away. Happy discovery, we will come back.

Hearty 🐇 mini chocolate bunnies are currently being lovingly packaged. It smells heavenly. Unfortunately, the fantastic "Schoggi S" from back in the day are no longer available. 😩They were simply unique! Happy, friendly staff infected us. Thank you!♥️🌹

Today we ate the finest ice cream coupes we've had in a long time. The Coupe “Früchteblatt” is a dream. The ice cream is homemade, as is the chocolate sauce for Denmark, and for me it is always very important: real cream! And this for a fair price! The service is very friendly and attentive despite the large number of guests. We'd love to come back.

I have eaten or drunk many a Black Forest cake and many a cappuccino in the Haug over the course of my life. I have been visiting this beautiful old coffee house since 1995, which has long been an institution in Schwyz. Very nice location, wonderful delicacies and very friendly service! Always my pleasure.
