The service in English is not very good and the prices are a bit high, but the food is really good.

Very nice staff. Delicious bread and a large selection of lunches to go. Delicious cafe. Clean toilet! Comfortable “smoking lounge” outside.

Racist and unfriendly, snippy employees. Unfortunately, they were rejected very unfriendly several times when confronted. Everything seems to be from the day before yesterday, both in my head and in the display. We don't go there anymore. I don't want to support this attitude and lack of insight any further.

We liked the variety of food. You can find sandwiches, croissants, deserts and chocolates. We stopped by for a quick breakfast and the staff was friendly with smiling faces which is much appreciated. Prices are affordable. Place is small but OK.

Fantastic bread, the rest very expensive (lasagne on average 18 CHF and more expensive for a take-away portion), sandwich mediocre, the sweets not worth the price. Oh dear Zurich!

When you buy just under 50 SFR you save on napkins! Incomprehensible!! Employees prefer to talk and have fun with each other instead of concentrating on work!

I have been a customer at the Hausaman bakery on Universitätstrasse for a long time. Always very good advice. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bakery has a large selection. I always look forward to visitors. Everything I buy tastes very good.

Unfortunately, the bread and the plait are no longer crispy since they are no longer baked in the traditional bakery but industrially in a suburb of Zurich. Also the lye peaks. I can go straight to a cheaper bakery. The employees are just as snippy as they have been for several years when they won a prize for the buttery and crispy braid. Today unfortunately mostly soft and rubbery.

Bad service Quality is very poor and friendliness is non-existent For this price I expect more.

It's a shame, a cult restaurant with good products but unfriendly service - passive-aggressive. We now prefer to go to Stocker, even though we live right next door.

We have come from Australia and happen to come across this great little cafe. The food is very good and quite affordable compared to the rest of Zurich. They have both sweet and savoury and we really haven't been disappointed with any of the food we had. Staff can understand enough English so you can order ok. We ate here 3 times in our 5-day visit. Seems to be very popular with the locals also. Cute little courtyard and they do change their food slightly dayly. Also easy to access from tram 9 or 10.

Despite moving from this area, we always like to come back. Always fresh pastries, great bircher muesli, friendly staff!

The store also has a cafe. Large selection of different pastries. Unfortunately, I miss the “buttery” taste in the braid. The bread is also compact. It's a shame there aren't other variations of braids. Just like there are croissants. If you already call yourself “De Zopf-beck vo Züri”. The rating only applies to the braid. No staff criticism or store layout.

Very good bread! Unfortunately, snippy employees who would rather clean up at 4:30 p.m. than serve customers, even though the opening time is until 5:00 p.m. A bit dingy, especially in front of the shop on Universitätsstrasse. It's a shame about the good bread, but I'd rather not do it anymore.

The bakery which also bakes a 3 king cake, only made from plaited dough and only sprinkled with granulated sugar! (on order) The quality = at least 12 stars. This is how my daughter comes too with a pronounced nut allergy to your 3 king cake! This has been the only bakery that can and does this for years. THANKS ! Very friendly staff !

I've always been very satisfied so far.

Staff not friendly! Bad attitude, I bought a small pack of three cookies worth 3 CHF and was charged 16 CHF for a big bag of cookies! When I looked at the invoice and pointed out, I got a bad attitude and no apology for over charging. If you are not local, they behave very rude! Would not visit again

Nice selection of breads and pastries, even on Sundays. They also have fresh and regional milk that you can then buy. The waitress was very friendly and offered me a free croissant because the two I ordered were a bit small. So nice! A very friendly neighborhood bakery!

I've been going to this bakery in my neighborhood for at least 15 years, and over time I've developed a kind of love-hate relationship with it. There are some exceptionally good breads here, first and foremost the “Alte Fritz”, an excellent rye sourdough bread. The braid, the pride of the house, is good, but not outstanding in my opinion. The lye peaks, one of my favorite pastries, are below average. The patisserie is good (tiramisu, strawberry tarts, sheet cakes, etc.), but I have also bought a completely unsuccessful Saint Honoré cake here. And a word about the staff: There are a few nice and competent ladies, but some are moderately friendly. And it's telling that after all these years, none of them even know my name. So mixed feelings – I could have given it three stars...

We ordered 6 lye croissants but received 6 nut croissants. We noticed it too late because it was packed. The fruit salad was too small.

Great zopf, nüsstorte and lemon cake. Also, I think they have some of the best chocolate Gipfelis in Zürich. Specially if you can find them freshly baked.

The attention was quite unpleasant and lackluster. A little help and kindness to tourists will always attract more tourists. Breakfast acceptable price for Switzerland, yes, coffee and small bun.

The service is friendly. The prices are on the higher side and I find the highly praised sandwiches here to be average. (I've had better ones) The canapés have toast bread that is much too “stable” for my taste. Otherwise, the breads are good and the selection is ok. (including ready-made salads, hamburgers, etc.)

I love the old Fritz - the sourdough bread from the Hausamann bakery - available as a whole, half or quarter loaf!

In my opinion, the Zurich bakery with the best price/performance ratio! Fresh, fine baked goods and very friendly service every day (including Sundays). Interior could be nicer but the bread, especially the spelled and fruit rolls, are great.

The products are ok and there is a good variety. Good prices. What I don’t like though is how they treat their employees. Some of them have to work 12h a day, 6 days a week, If not even more. This means very qualified people are less friendly and helpful because they are overworked. They really should employ more people.

High-priced baked goods that are ok. Unfortunately, unfriendly employees who are annoyed when customers come at 4:10 p.m., even though opening times are until 5:00 p.m. I'd rather go somewhere else in the future.

It's a shame that so little attention is paid to hygiene at the moment. It's not possible to remove and pack patisserie and bread without gloves! Please get gloves and change them carefully.

I can only say something about the braid, and it is rightly famous. It is baked in a truly hand-crafted way and is not a frozen piece of dough full of enzymes like in the supermarket. I really can't fault it at all! However, the pricing of Hausammans can be discussed.

Everything clean and fresh. The production of baked goods takes place in this building and is distributed to the other branches. That's why there are really only fresh baked goods here and they are prepared and served with effort. Only the salespeople are a bit stressed, which is standard in a bakery. If you take a seat in the bakery, it is no longer self-service.

Been there again for a long time. Chnebelbrot is still good. But the Quarkinis, which used to be so fine, were completely dry and hard - absolutely inedible! And the quark cake now consists almost entirely of base, the filling only about 1/3. The prices have always been quite steep. Never again!

The best zopf I had is the one from Haussamann! They are delicious and as soon as you start you just can’t stop 😄 They have many other products of course as it is a bakery. Open on Sunday, you have few seats inside and a terrace for the nice and warm days. If you haven’t already, you should give it a try!

It was the first time that we bought our Sunday Zopf here, as the Zopfbeck is well known in Zurich. The first thing we noticed was how incredibly friendly the employees are, great compliments to you! The braid is really the best we've ever had from a Beck, and the other things we bought like Grittibänz and fruit tarts are also incredibly tasty!

An old bakery cafe across from the hotel I stayed in Zurich during my trip to Europe. There is outdoor seating, so my wife and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast with small birds while feeling the fresh energy of Zurich. It was a famous bakery that had been around for several generations, and I remember the friendly staff treating the store well. Especially when traveling in Europe, I think it's better to spend a leisurely time at a bakery with such an atmosphere than to eat a hotel buffet breakfast. ^^

The ice cream is delicious. The braid is worse than from Migros, pure cardboard. Anyone who likes this braid has never had a good braid in their life. Despite poor quality, a small braid costs over 6 francs. The rustic bread is just air, hardly any dough. Poor performance. You'd better go to Stocker, there's still something for your money.

Delicious breakfast with my husband and delicious canape awesome, only the fart that happened behind my head was enormous. My hair has been aired out. Please people, if you have to, please only do so once you have passed the people next to you. Otherwise you'll lose your appetite😬😬😬

Top class bakery, café and small bar. Food is delicious! Seating indoors and outdoors in the courtyard area shown in the picture. Winkelriedstrasse tram stop is right out the front. So it's a good morning stop off, if you are heading into the city centre, or perfect for a relaxing coffee and cake after a day's sightseeing. Ice creams also available, plus some delicious boxed chocolates.

Located directly at the Winkelriedstrasse tram stop. (accessible with the 9 or 10 tram) Very large selection of different baked goods of all kinds. There are a wide variety of dishes available to take away or directly in the cafe, such as sweet and salty tarts, sandwiches, salads, Ice cream... In summer you can sit outside very well. Very friendly staff and everything is always fresh. However, all drinks and food are more expensive if consumed on site.

It's a little treasure chest with huge, delicious pieces of art! Hand on heart it was a super spontaneous and the best decision people, This bakery/patisserie/coffee simply offers everything: History, tradition, breakfast offerings, cold snacks but also warm dishes, all homemade! Not to forget the lovingly made desserts and cakes and an interesting range of teas as well as coffee ideas and CHOCOLATES. In summer you can snuggle up outside and feel at home. The tram stop for 10 and 9 is directly opposite, almost a stone's throw away. But the highlight of this family-run nostalgia is not only the homemade, valuable bread or even delicious yeast braids but the smiling employees!!! Charming, friendly, professional and so kind...everyone has to go there! Thank you very much for your hospitality the ladies in the evening on March 7th, 2018 🌺

Very good pastries, I particularly like the pretzel croissants, which are sprinkled with a little salt, which makes them something special. Friendly service and a beautifully decorated bakery with a lot of selection.

Nice bakery with a large selection. The braids are particularly good and the bakery's specialty. You can have breakfast and lunch. And read the newspaper.
