Herat Kebab - Restaurant afghan et iranien in Lausanne

I came to this restaurant for the first time this evening. The environment is very comfortable and beautiful. The food was very well decorated and very tasty. The staff is very well behaved. I give a rating of five ☺️

Very helpful, pleasant, reasonable, very welcoming and very friendly.

Despite its cozy size, the attentive staff efficiently served our group of eight. We went for a family lunch and ordered several dishes of the Chelo Koobideh and Chelo Jooojeh, which delighted our palates with tender meat and fragrant rice. Herat offers a highly recommended option for Halal Afghani cuisine. For a memorable dining experience in Lausanne, Herat restaurant comes highly recommended!

Best place to have Afghan /Iranian food. Each time I come to Switzerland from the USA, I visit this place. Highly recommend, staff is amazing and the food is amazing!

Unfortunately there was no more space. But the ladies at the counter packed everything perfectly to take away. Very friendly service. Great food of excellent quality at an unbeatable price. Bravo. Mashallah!

The food is very good, and the people there are very nice and hardworking. For 18.- you can get amazing ground beef kebab with rice. Seeing some of the bad reviews they were criticising this, but frankly I cannot find the slightest point of criticism. The place is also a shop where you can get products you rarely see anywhere else.

What a change of breath air - Finally - after 12 years of being in Switzerland, I was able to get a taste of real Afghani food - that I'm referring to the Qabili Palau! We walked in to a very humble, yet clean store/restaurant and the host greeted us and offered to sit down. We didn't have reservations but we still got a table! It would be wise to call in advance for a table as seating is limited. To make the long story short, I Loved the taste of the Chicken Breast Kebab with Qabili Palau rice! Every bite was amazing 🤩. The cook/chef is from Afghanistan and the staff are majority from there too. Very kind and kind and of course hospitable. I was also able to get my groceries and would say wipe go visit again! I'm praying for the health and we'll being of the staff so that when I return from Zurich I would have the same experience. The menu is Afghani/Iranian. We ordered mainly kebabs and an Eggplant 🍆 (Kashk Badgjan) and would comment that we had better, but the Palau rice and kebab was just marvelous. I've visited Afghani kitchen restaurants in Zurich and Germany...even in Spain, Prague but nothing comes close to this. Again, it's the hand of the chef - bless him 🙏 Very humble and kind. He caters food for events too. I really enjoyed the visit and now as I write crave the Qabili Palau rice. 😋 Please see my review about Afghan Anar in Zurich - a completely different and opposite experience. Thank you again for your help and hospitality. Eating lunch with my family took me back to my own mother's kitchen.

The order was kebab, rice, chicken with rice, salad, cucumber yogurt and ayran yogurt. We didn't find anything in the taste that we liked, but for Afghans it can be delicious food, but we didn't see anything we like in it. The service, cleanliness and ambiance inside are excellent. I can't give advice because every type of person has their favorite tastes, but I personally have an experience that won't be repeated.

Small restaurant with shop. Make a reservation if you want to go. The food is delicious, the starters are tasty, the eggplant ones are incredible. The dishes are generous, meat skewers, raw vegetables, rice with saffron. A delight.

This restaurant has both Iranian and afghan food. They also sell some food products as well. The food is usually very good and the price with respect to the food, serving portion is unique (economy) in Lausanne. I do recommend dining here and for sure one of the best restaurants for Iranian in Lausanne. They have also fidelity program in which they give one dish free after eating 10 dishes.

The prices of the small store are a little expensive, the food is good especially the koubide and the prices are more than fair. We go there often.

One of the best restaurants in Switzerland is Lausanne. I tried most of the Iranian restaurants and this is the best, knowing that they are Afghans of Iranian origin.

I went to the restaurant, and God knows that I could not bear what I saw, it was unclean, it was random, and there were only two tables in it. I would never recommend it.

Best Iranian food that I've had in a long time. We drove from Geneva to eat here... Make sure to reserve in advance if you want to eat on a Friday or Saturday night because space is very limited. There is also an Iranian market attached. Food is Halal and you can even order afghan dishes that aren't on the menu.

I paid 16.- for a box of rice with two pieces of meat (ps: the driest rice of my life luckily there was a drink) 16.- for a kilo of rice and 100g of meat it's not it doesn't. In addition the rice was seasoned with Paul Gautier people's perfume degeulasse even Philippe etshebest can't do anything

Best persian food experience i had. The location is humble and feels like you re at home. The staff is wonderful and remembered my last visit on a prior trip. Un accueil adorable , parfait du début à la fin , les viandes (l’ agneau que l’ on a prit ) était délicieuses , grosses portions - par contre salle un peu froide à l intérieur - seul point négatif - j’ y retournerai , en plus une épicerie est à côté des tables ce qui est super , resto sans prétention sans chichis allez y !

The food quality changes. Im its customer for almost a year and I go the a couple of times each month. Why? I have to. It's the only iranian restaurant. The worst thing about Herat is not all its staff are professional or well trained. And it has to redecorate. There are Only two large tables and you probably sit next to strangers.

One of the most delicious and cleanest food I tasted in Switzerland 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Our order was kebab lokma, chicken awsal and a traditional salad. The food is second to none and the order comes with saffron rice. The smell of saffron and its taste is amazing. Ayran milk brought back memories of Germany. I advise the Arabs and the Gulf to visit it and the price. It is considered Balaash (Switzerland), the restaurant belongs to a humble family that works in it and the place is also very, very humble and small. Good luck to them ♥️♥️

Étant iranienne, ma mère m’a conseillé d’aller manger notre plat traditionnel, le chelo kebab, qui se compose de brochettes d’agneau et de riz au sein de cette épicerie iranienne qui a quelques tables et ce fut un régal. Un accueil simple, chaleureux et adorable dans ce restaurant familial qui sert une cuisine typique de chez nous à des prix parfaitement abordables (15.- à 27.- selon les plats et extrêmement bien servis).
