Small, cozy restaurant, delicious game food cooked with love, nicely presented plates. Service very friendly and attentive.

We stopped after visiting the caves. Good value for money (both the rosti, the soup and the dish of the day were delicious) and really friendly staff: upon arrival it seemed fully booked, we were leaving and the pretty blonde girl took the trouble to call us to tell us that she had a place freed up. They also took care to keep the door closed (so as not to disturb us with the cold air since the table was nearby) even though it was much more complicated for them to get in and out with the dishes.

During our one visit the staff was rather unfriendly. However, the restaurant was also very busy that day. When we made reservations with a group, everything was great. Good home cooking.

Very nice waiter. We would have liked to eat after our hike, but the kitchen only prepares sandwiches from 1:30 p.m. We were already 10 minutes late.

Expect lengthy waiting when there are a lot of people. Other than that the food was delicious and the staff very friendly.

Nice place.. when it rains or on vacation there is a lack of space but I recommend visiting the caves...

Unfortunately there were no fries at 2 p.m., but there was delicious ice cream.

Cousine is not excellent at all.

We wanted to have a drink outside and eat dessert for two at 1:00 p.m. Unfortunately, you can only “eat” at the tables. We were told to have a drink or dessert that it was only possible at 1:30 p.m. Too bad about 30 minutes. Let's spend our money somewhere else, sorry for not sorry.

Lots of people even during the week. You have to go down two flights of stairs to get to the very clean, pleasant toilet, which isn't easy when you have a sprained knee.

Everything is great in the Höllgrotte. The food is wonderful The service is totally attentive and extremely kind. We'll be back ♥️

Actually everything was great. Food great, service friendly, atmosphere very nice. Only the reservation in advance by email was very difficult. The restaurant was unable to make a satisfactory package deal for a group with children and did not respond at all after the second email. It wasn't until I made the reservation that I received an answer.

Wonderful place in the floodplain forests around Baar, also an excellent restaurant with very friendly service and wonderful trout or sometimes a fine cordon bleu. Always especially to come back home. But definitely highly recommended.

A beautiful place in the countryside with fine food. It would be an advantage to reserve in the evening. On nice evenings you can sit outside.

Unfortunately not recommended, fish crispy and fries were totally greasy and the schnitzel was dripping with fat. We had to wait half an hour before we could order and after another 50 minutes the food finally arrived. Service staff very overwhelmed and extremely rude but that was the highlight We weren't allowed to take the invoice with us because she hand-wrote something on it that she forgot to type, sorry that doesn't work then you correct the mistake before bringing it to the guest

We stopped by for a lunch after a hike in the area. We tried lamb's liver with Rösti, trout and pumpkin soup. All dishes were very tasty.

An oasis in the middle of the forest. Beautifully located restaurant, family atmosphere and hearty home cooking. The food is fine and tastes good. We felt very comfortable sitting on one of the many terraces.

After visiting the grotto we went to the forest restaurant. I found it very cozy, you didn't have to wait long for the food and it tasted great. Gladly again.

I'm there often in the summer. Mostly for food. Even on the small afternoon menu there is enough choice of delicacies. Sauces, apple strudel etc. are homemade - generally quality + price is top. Very nice and attentive service, the host couple are committed, down-to-earth and close to the guests. Actually, you shouldn't advertise this restaurant, otherwise I won't be able to find a place when I visit spontaneously.😂

We arrived on a saturday at 13:30 and after waiting for 10 minutes to be served we were told the kitchen is closed... while the restaurant was packed and they were still serving food. My hungry kid did not appreciate it... to say the least

Very pleasant place for a stopover on your way to visit Hoellgrotten. Family friendly, little ones can enjoy a small playground outside. The restaurant is very Swiss and traditional, staff very nice, we loved it. Very cosy.

The restaurant, completely surrounded by greenery and forest, is worth a visit both during the day and in the evening. The landlady and the staff are friendly and well placed. The chef also does a very good job, no matter whether it's just a portion of fries, the liver with rösti or the fish with boiled potatoes, it's delicious every time. Me and my family are regular guests. I can only recommend Swiss cuisine. 😁👍

If you want to spend a day or evening, you've come to the right place. There's something for everyone here. From savory, sweet, warm or cold. So I can warmly recommend it to you here. The service is also very friendly. A nice place to relax from the day and recover from stress.

Claims to be open on Tuesdsys,but when we rocked up at 12:30 noon on a Tuesday in the end of April it was very clearly closed! This was simply noted with a handwritten sign propped in front of the restaurant saying "Ruhetag" (rest day), no further explanation. Online AND on a sign at the nearby Höllgrotten Caves the opening times were listed as being open Tuesdays. Someone was there, on the balcony (see photo), but ignored us.

Beautiful autumn hike along the Loreztobel. We parked one car at the train station in Baar and one car in Neuägeri, as the arrival point was different. We also didn't know how strict public transport was on Sundays. In the Höllgrotten restaurant (note opening times) I can recommend the rainbow trout, which was very tasty. A visit to the Höllgrotten is a must, beautifully lit. You can also go to the Zugerberg (local mountain) and from there with the scooter to the Höllgrotten (note the opening times: 8:00 a.m.)

If we want liver with rösti, we always like to come to the Höllgrotten. We really enjoyed the food again this time and the small, rustic, wooden dining room looked very charming and homely when lit up in the evening. Unfortunately, there is only one type of liver left (veal liver, I loved the rabbit liver on previous visits) and we missed it beforehand Menu on the homepage.

You pay ridiculous prices for self-service, including 2 Wienerli for CHF 8.50. Children's carousel swallowed coins but didn't spin. Maybe the restaurant served is good, I can't say and I don't feel like testing it.

Nice location just a 5-minute walk from the Höllgrotten. Well-preserved, historic building. Our coffee break was quite successful, with delicious, homemade apple strudel. On the side towards the parking there is a mini playground with a small carousel that costs 1 franc per ride.
