Höngger Oriental in Zürich

We were there with a large group. The food was very expensive and cold. The food was heated in a microwave (because it was very cold and didn't smell fresh) and cost an average of 50 francs per person. The space was too narrow. Unfortunately, price and performance did not match.

Unfortunately, the food didn't convince me at all. The food is not authentic at all and is of poor quality. I had Koubide, which tasted somewhat ok. I also ordered Juje Kabab, which wasn't Juje Kabab. There were a few small pieces of chicken that didn't look like juje at all. There was massive savings on saffron. The jujes were not marinated with saffron and yoghurt like the original ones and the rice was only garnished with a bit of diluted saffron. Unfortunately, the price of 35 and 28 CHF per menu is not justified for this quality.

The taste wasn't really convincing either. Every time I called I was offered that they could bring me some meat to my house, which wasn't going to work for me at that moment. I think it's a bit cheeky to serve something like that to a customer. For me it's almost like cheating on the customer. I definitely won't go there again.

We ordered two mezzes and one chicken (plus a wine and a beer). The fun cost CHF 78 and was mediocre. The chicken (1 skewer) came with two burnt tomatoes and some rice with a small mini butter packet (the small ones you get at the breakfast buffet at cheap hotels) for CHF29! Which is sporty even by Zurich standards. Were very disappointed and complained about the whole thing, but got no apology. The service was horrendous. Super unfriendly and unloving. The second star is only given because the mezze wasn't bad in taste. In any case, we won't be coming back, what a shame!

Very nice Persian food in Zurich. The location itself is a bit of a hole in the wall so don't expect anything else. Doesn't quite compare to the Persian food you would get in London or LA but good value for the city. I would give 4.5 stars as it doesn't quite measure up to best in class - but rounding up to 5 to help small business.
