Horgenberg in Glarus Süd

We were there on a Sunday for lunch around 1:30 p.m. There were still free parking spaces and tables. Our dog was also very welcome. Fish and meat were very tasty and everyone enjoyed it, prices were good and service was good too. For children there is an outdoor playground, kids menus and chairs. The mini golf course outside is also very great and beautiful. The toilets were also clean. We would love to come again.

We spontaneously went out for something to eat on a Saturday evening and got a nice place outside. A very nice welcome from the staff. The food is simply delicious and the portions are very good, so you'll feel full. The price/performance ratio is right. You'll be happy to come back there.

Very fine whitefish fillet in batter

Super beautifully embedded in the landscape with views to the north and east. Mini golf course. Friendly hosts. The landlord comes from Bosnia, but has lived in Switzerland for a long time. There is a cozy dining room, an inviting winter garden/covered terrace and a garden restaurant. Small children's playground. The menu awakens hunger and cravings. In addition to classics such as Zurich Geschnetzeltes with Rösti... there are also many fish dishes. The ambience and view are sensational!

Uniquely delicious and high quality Cordon Bleus. The side dishes are also very good. The long waiting time for food could be optimized. Otherwise highly recommended. Price/performance is also right.

Quick, friendly, really good food. I would suggest anyone in this region to come and try this experience. Owner of the restaurant is among people. Constantly checking on service and food and talking with everyone. No matter who is the guest, the quality of service is on high level. Prices are as in rest of Switzerland restaurants. But value for quality is really good.

Great to stop here after a day of hiking. The children also have something to play with. Food tastes great too!

Great service, great friendly staff, we were here on Saturday evening too. Can't understand the previous guest's rating... We are regular customers and are always very satisfied.

We had dinner with seven people. The restaurant was well attended and the two service staff had their hands full. Despite the stress, both had smiles on their faces. We were happy to wait a little longer than usual for the delicious meal. It was a pleasant evening and we would love to come back.

Mini golf was great. So many ants on one track, but otherwise great. We wanted to go out for dinner, but the service was so unfriendly that we left. But it's worth it for mini golf.

We were there as a large group. Unfortunately some dishes were cold. Fish and meat was good. Some fish crispy had bones, otherwise tasty and friendly service.

Mini golf: free parking in front of the entrance, the facility is clean, 18 holes are well maintained and rather simple.

The menu is extensive and varied. Unfortunately, there is no choice between "small and large" portions for the main courses. The price reduction is not the main priority here. But giving back a larger part of the food is not the point of the matter either.

Always great at Horgenberg, super fine farmer's cream schnitzel and great cordonbleus! Stojan and his team try their hardest. Always my pleasure.

We stopped here unannounced with 12 people on a motorcycle tour. We were greeted very nicely and served in an extremely friendly manner. The food was extremely tasty (cordon bleu, fries and vegetables) and the price/performance ratio was reasonable. Lovely again.

Good restaurant in a quiet location, right on the main street. With a mini golf course nearby. The terrace is large and well located. The offering is generous and varied, with a special mention being made of the many cordon bleus on the menu, which are very fine. Highly recommended.

Very, very nice and attentive service. Food very good. It's nice that restaurants like this still exist. Despite the large number of guests, there was no (excessively) long waiting time. When we visited there were only two people present to serve. They worked like crazy. Hopefully the rest will upgrade with modern wireless ordering software so that there is less walking and the service staff is relieved. They more than deserve it. Respect what is produced in this small kitchen. Respect the staff...

Friendly welcome. We booked three double rooms with breakfast. The rooms are not big but comfortable and above all clean! Breakfast is served at the table with jus, cheese, meat, bread (freshly baked) and confit. Coffee as much as you want. I give it 4 out of 5 because we didn't use the entire service. No Abebd- or Enjoyed lunch.

We went to Horgenberg for lunch on a beautiful and very warm Sunday. With a lot of luck, we got the last table outside. The staff were under a lot of pressure because of the many guests, but were always friendly and accommodating. If you want to enjoy good home cooking or fish, this is the right place for you.

No more! The boss's service was simply rude and unfriendly. He even took the liberty of reproaching us for my daughter ordering dessert a little later because she was in the toilet. After about 15 minutes of waiting to pay, we went to the counter ourselves.

Fine cuisine, large selection, top service and service.

We are old friends of the Horgenberg, we have been guests for 25 years and Stojian was already a waiter back then, incredibly hard-working and very efficient. Today Stojian is the owner and still in service, mostly alone. The menu has many different dishes. The various fish dishes are surprising, this far into Glarnerland. But the veal lamb with rösti is our highlight almost every time. Various Gordonbleu are not to be despised. In general, the restaurant is highly recommended to everyone. Stojian deserves it🥰🥰🥰🥰

Beautifully located restaurant with a large terrace under an old walnut tree. Also recommended for motorcyclists as a stopover before the Klause calls. Detailed menu with fish specialties and much more, everything your hunger/desire desires. The whole thing in a high quality, great price-performance ratio. The staff are friendly and attentive, especially children enjoy the beautiful playground and the carousel. There is a professional mini golf course 50m away. I'll be back… Greetings Marcel Orler

Anyone who hasn't eaten Cordon Blue here doesn't know what they're missing. This is especially true after the lockdown.

A little skeptical at first, service wasn't the best... But after receiving the food we ordered, we were pleasantly surprised. Cordonbleu was really very tasty and the chicken breast was also great👍 1 star deducted because of the service but you can work on that. We would love to come back when we go on a bike tour over the Klausen 🙂

The Horgenberg restaurant has a great terrace and a children's playground. There is a modern mini golf course next door. The Wiener Schnitzel with fries and vegetables was good. The salad for the starter was ok, but the sauce had little taste. For dessert there was an ice cream, but it wasn't convincing. It had a lot of ice crystals in it and was probably rather cheap because it didn't taste good. The waffle was already soft and the package had probably been opened for a while. About the banana split you have to say that it was a very unusual variant with strawberry ice cream. The service was lousy, nothing more can be said about it. Food and drinks sometimes didn't come. The service was not attentive to any additional drink orders. The friendliness also left something to be desired. Unfortunately, there was a strong smell of cat waste and urine in the children's playground. It's a shame, because otherwise it's great for the kids.

Ate very well. We were able to easily move from outside to inside when the storm came. Restaurant visit was appreciated.

The four of us arrived with a baby and were initially ignored. After waiting for a while we were told that we can only have the tables in the sun. The other 3 are reserved. We were told: No more sun! And the parasol was turned the wrong way. Very unprofessional and unfriendly!

Great place! Good food, staff super friendly and nice playground for kids. So you can enjoy eating great food and kids can play few meters from you. Staff is paying attention on your ordination and on timing of the food arrival. You can find in the menù several delicious specialties from other countries.

Unfortunately the service wasn't great, it was actually very unfriendly. The cellar ignored me at the table and preferred to serve the regulars. Waited 10 minutes for the order Waited 10 minutes for the bill... Even though the restaurant was only (at most) half full Very unfortunate.. Food was good, nice terrace, good parking for trucks.

We were here on a motorbike 20 years ago and it was wonderful. We have now stayed here, the rooms have been renovated, the staff are very nice, the food is wonderful, the location is wonderful and good, we would definitely recommend it, we would be happy to come back.

The only place in the canton of Glarus for outdoor mini golf. Unfortunately, the Horgenberg team didn't have time to give us the bat and ball for the game. We would have waited for the serving as we saw that the restaurant was well attended. The way in which our hands were thrown out when we said we would like to play mini golf and the managing director's statement that he certainly didn't have time for something like that made us withdraw. A pity. Can't find a solution to the issue? Luckily the children were happy again after a delicious ice cream in Weesen.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise und genossen an diesem heissen Sommertag ein feines Glace im lauschigen Garten. Glace und Service waren hervorragend. Gerne wieder!

Really great staff. Very tasty food and good value for money. It's not the newest but everything is very well maintained and clean. There is also a small playground for all the dwarves who have to wait for food. We recommend.

Zum Restaurant gehört auch eine MINIGOLF Anlage. Die ist in einem totalverlotterten Zustand. Die Bahnen haben keine Farben mehr und die Grenzlinien siehtman gar nicht mehr. Rostige Beleuchtung keine Blumen usw. Schade, passt nicht zum neueren Gartenrestaurant!! Wir sind einige "Minigölfler" die NICHT mehr kommen!!!

Re: mini golf course My friends and I visited your mini golf course a lot. From year to year the facility becomes more and more neglected. The tracks needed a coat of paint long ago. You can hardly see the border lines anymore!!! It's a shame to let everything go to waste like this. Flowers, benches, etc. are also pleasing to the eye. There are 15 of us who no longer visit such a sad facility.

Gezellig restaurant in een mooie omgeving.Het eten is uitstekend. Wij hadden een Cordon Blue en Forel, salade vooraf. Kleine maar goede menukaart.Snelle en correcte bediening. Voldoende parkeerplaats.
