Hotel Adler in Schüpfheim

Despite a reservation, our visit began with an almost endless wait. Over 30 minutes until we received menus and another 30 (!) minutes until the last person had received the correct, i.e. ordered, drink. Starters: Two of four starters that were just lukewarm were "mixed up". When asked in a friendly manner, without looking at the plate, I was annoyed and insisted that everything was correct. Main courses: A total disaster. Fish cold. Not lukewarm. Cold. The side dish should be seasonal vegetables. This consisted exclusively of peppers and tomatoes (in winter!). All potatoes are raw inside, therefore inedible. Served several wrong side dishes. And the Pharaoh plate - for a whopping 65 francs - was missing the scallops. Dessert: Nut ice cream with plenty of ground nuts and shell parts in the ice cream mixture. The coffee didn't come until everyone had long since finished their desserts. Waiting time between courses: at least 30 minutes each. At the end it was said in a subordinate clause: Sorry, we had a party next door. No information in advance, no dessert on the house, no espresso or similar offered. Price-performance: Bad. I can not say more about that.

We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. The food tastes wonderful. I love the oriental spices. The mezze plate is highly recommended. And a big compliment to the waiters. They are very friendly and attentive and that makes a big difference. Thank you😊

Nice ambience. Enjoy your meal. Friendly service. What more do you want? Currently, with the mild weather, you can even sit outside on the terrace! The homemade house tea is highly recommended, whether 'Red Dream' or 'Blue Moon', both are very fine.

A delightful, cozy restaurant. The moussaka was so good that we now want to return to try the other options, including a selection they offer of the appetizers. Ali gave us wonderful service and made us feel like family.

From the extremely courteous and friendly staff to the tastefully furnished location to the absolutely high-quality culinary experience, everything is just right here. The authentic Oriental cuisine is a great and unique change from the usual local gastronomy in Arlesheim and the entire Birseck / Dorneck.

Truly excellent oriental cuisine. The starters have been carefully created. The selection of home-made drinks is very good: you have to try the home-made iced tea in particular. The tagine is excellent: the meat (Jenzer, Arlesheim - excellent) is excellently prepared. The variety of flavors and the balanced bouquet guarantee a treat for the palate. The dishes are traditionally served in a rustic manner. The two brothers (chef and service) are attentive, warm and friendly. “Eagle” is perhaps a bit confusing: “to the silver falcon” would be more accurate. Definitely unique in the Basel region.

Delicious oriental cuisine in a small restaurant with a beautiful outdoor area in the middle of Arlesheim. The guest room in the historic building is bright, cozy and lovingly furnished. We tried various mezze, tabbouleh, curries (vegi, fish & meat) and chicken tandoori. The dishes were consistently tasty, fresh and prepared with care, and the portions were sufficient. In some cases I would have liked a little more courage when it came to tasting the individual dishes, but overall everything was very tasty. When it comes to drinks, the homemade iced tea is an absolute recommendation to try – wonderfully refreshing and not too sweet. The lady from the service was extremely friendly and attentive, I felt welcome and well advised - thank you very much! In my opinion, the prices (especially for the main courses) are a bit on the higher side, but overall the price-performance ratio is okay. It was a successful evening with fine food, what more could you want - gladly again!

Upon request, there was a vegan dish at lunchtime - super delicious curry! Very friendly staff, gladly again!

Ate excellent Egyptian moussaka in the garden for lunch today (lunch menu). Fr. 19.50 including large salad and flatbread. Moussaka is served with fine rice. Eggplants, tomatoes, etc. baked with cheese (without potatoes). Very clean. Friendly service. Thanks, it was great ;-).

A simple restaurant with the Swiss soul. I feel like the cleanliness is really appreciated here. There are two menus to choose from every day (one with meat, one vegetarian) and three weekly hits. Will stop by again when I'm in the area.

Top food and super nice service. Great alternative in Arlsehiem to Ochsen, Domstuebli and Roessli. Definitely go, the crew is happy and so is your wallet!

Small, cozy restaurant with a terrace. Small but very nice menu, we particularly liked the parsnip soup, all the tapas were excellent too. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the burgers, the vegan burger was very dry and the beef burger wasn't good either. Everything else is tip top!

The summer menu is highly recommended, especially the fine tapas for the aperitif. Friendly service. We would like to come again!

We waited 40 minutes for the lunch menu despite asking! And that with only an hour break! But the food was very good!

Limited number of lunch menus, but at least one is vegetarian.
