Very very little on the plate, flavor of the dishes without surprise. The "famous" crème brûlées have almost all the same taste (dish) with an 8th fig flanked as a quick decoration. Poor wine list. Wait 45 minutes between the mini starter and the main course. Overpriced prices. Very salty bill which leaves a bitter taste in the evening. But very friendly staff. Damage...

Good restaurant. The setting was warm. Our table was beautiful. Very good table service. The waitresses were pleasant and attentive to our requests. We ordered aperitifs, wines, starters, “hunting” menus, fish and meat dishes, desserts and coffees. Two digestives were offered to us. THANKS! However, the game terrines lacked flavor. Also, not too much choice for the children's plate (nuggets and fries). Overall, the food and wines were good and tasty.

Invited for my 30th birthday, the two of us ate at the brasserie on a Thursday evening. We had the 3 course surprise menu. As an aperitif, we opted for the Sicilian spritz (perfectly measured and very good). The starter, foie gras with pepper, was magnificent. The dish, which was a game platter with each dish revisited, was simply divine. We finished the dessert with a perfectly cooked soft chocolate mango. I recommend the brewery. The service was impeccable. The decor is perhaps a little outdated. I will go back there !

Very good and fine cuisine. It's at the top of the game with prices that I find very reasonable. The best is to take a formula if you are a good eater (Starter/Main/Dessert). We are in a gentle and friendly atmosphere. A little village. As we like.

No taste, no salt, in short. Not terrible

I discovered this restaurant which is worth the detour thanks to my gourmet passport. From starter to dessert, we loved our dishes and had a great time there.

Excellent food, service not up to par. Came with a friend, who had a voucher for her birthday, the cuisine that we have known for years is always at the top. Unfortunately the service does not follow this direction, with the exception of the very nice lady who even recognized us, after years of absence. Wine service every other time, bread requested and just as quickly forgotten, vervain tea instead of black and a general incomprehension that reigns. Waiting half an hour to get the bill...and so on. Damage.

We were very happy with the services and dishes received. It was our first time at this establishment and we thought we would go to the restaurant side. But not on the brewery side. Despite this it was just as friendly. Fortunately we had a crème brûlée for two because that was enough. A real treat. Well done boss.

Very nice atmosphere, very good food

The food is good but the menu quantities are really too low. We went with a good realdeal for a surprise gourmet menu and we had rice as a starter and rice as a main course. Ask yourself if the boss is not saving money on the menus with vouchers.

Meal for 4, it was extremely good, impeccable service.

Disappointment all the same, especially for this price. Nice service but completely outdated. Wine service (matching with dishes) late. Fingerprints on the plate. There is potential but what a lack of balance and the quality of the meat is very average for the standard of the establishment. Note that we were on the restaurant side. Damage.

We ate in the dining room where the setting is very pretty however, the hunting menu dominates enormously so for people who don't like that, not easy... Not even an à la carte salad or white meat. The presentation of the plates, the taste as well as the homemade are top, shame of the small quantity compared to the fairly high price. We also had to get up several times to call a waiter, we had the impression of being a little left out... too bad!

Very disappointed. Long wait. Acceptable quality of food, but nothing extraordinary, when I read the other reviews I wonder if we are talking about the same place, my arms drop. The quantity is insufficient, especially at the price level, which is excessive compared to the content. The server was borderline not friendly at all. The magnificent final touch which sums up the state of mind of the place: digestive offered to the other tables who also took the same hunting menu, except ours because we had the gourmet passport, because I dare not pronounce the crime of facies. ...class! I pass my turn and happily leave my place for good. I will never set foot there again, the Vaud region is full of so much better addresses and not as overrated as this one.

The dishes are visually magnificent, but unfortunately the taste is not there. Being allergic, I asked if the tasting menu was possible, while specifying my allergies. Positive response from staff. In total, I received 3 dishes containing foods I am allergic to. The icing on the cake: sweet treats are served with coffee. We sent them back, because we were no longer hungry, but the waitress didn't want to know... We were more than surprised to find that these delicacies, which we had not ordered and which we had sent back unsuccessfully billed to us.

I recently dined in this establishment, the “surprise” gourmet menu was exceptional! The only downside was the quantities on the plate, we had to top it up when we returned home. Hence 4 stars instead of 5, which this restaurant deserves.

This is the second time we have tried to drink an aperitif on this magnificent terrace and, after 15 minutes of waiting, we give up! The waiter arrives, clears things up instead of asking what we want. Inside, 2 waiters with their arms crossed... Lamentable for a market day!

I have been going to the Auberge de l'hôtel de ville d'Echallens for several years and I have NEVER been disappointed; both by the food and by the quality of service (very attentive and good advice)! I would go back again without hesitation!

Small sunny terrace at midday, 20chf daily menu with good homemade bread (3 different ones). Good welcome, salad with homemade sauce, very good dish (maybe a meager one, I would have liked a little more). I recommend this restaurant 👍

Okay, what to say?! It's a restaurant with super welcoming and super friendly staff. I can almost say I felt at home. Compared to the food, it was a very good surprise. A very good play of flavors in the same dish, a real treat. A very elegant and original presentation. And finally, if you are undecided about the choice of wine, you should ask the staff for advice and I am sure that you will be very satisfied (like me) with the recommended wine. To repeat without doubt. A big thank you to the whole team

Disappointed today with the passage, because my memories were better. If the staff is friendly, for the aperitif we were presented with another bottle than requested. We had to remember to bring us red wine when we had already started the meal. Lots of noise from the services falling to the ground several times. The vegetables taste reheated. Too bad for this category of restaurant! Questionable price quality!
