Hotel Joopi in Goms

It was a very nice evening at the Hotel joopi, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, we ate fondue glareyarde which was simply fantastic. The kitchen is enchanting and the two bosses are very, very nice. I would recommend staying and eating here in this wonderful hotel, thanks to this team

We were a party of six and shared a classic Fondue chinoise and a Fondue Glareyarde. The latter one was new for us. Pity it’s only now that we discovered it. It’s absolutely yummie. We felt warmly welcomed and our servers Mary and Martin did a great job! The central location is great in walking distance in the village and next to the train station.

We only ate there for lunch, ideally oriented terrace, very good food, a good address in this valley.

Didn't spend the night there. Very nice establishment above the snow line. Very cosy. Nice terrace. Snow everywhere you look! Wonderful hiking and cross-country skiing. The train stops practically in front of the door.

A small island of happiness full of charm, nestled in the heart of an idyllic little village, very quiet. The rooms with balconies are very picturesque and very well insulated, the bedding is very comfortable, the breakfast is delicious, and all the facilities are top notch. Parking in front, very pleasant outdoor terrace and small garden. A special mention for the taste quality of the restaurant. Thank you to the kind owners and staff.

The hotel is a total surprise. Hidden among the houses. Delicious food served with a smile. The waiter kept talking and kept a nice tone of conversation. The room was clean, equipped with towels and all necessary utensils. Very good breakfast. Hotel service 10/10!

We stayed at Hotel Joopi for 4 nights and had a very nice time. The innkeepers and the waitresses are very nice and professional. We tried the menu in the restaurant over the 4 days, everything was of good quality. Prices in Switzerland are as they are, as a German holidaymaker you sometimes cry 😭. Still recommended - Valais- Reckingen- Hotel Joopi! Any time.

I think it's great that this hotel offers small single rooms for solo travelers, and at a very good price. Own bathroom, everything clean and a comfortable bed, what more could you want?! Oh yes, a good breakfast included, which was also included in this good price!

A very nice old Swiss hotel. The location is good, there are a few half-timbered houses next door that are very nice. Many hiking trails start right behind the hotel and are ideal for hiking thanks to the beautiful panorama. The lady of the house was very nice, as were the staff in the kitchen 👍👍👍👍👍. The menu in the restaurant is small but nice⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Breakfast was also very sufficient with a large selection. Unfortunately we were only here for one night but we will definitely come back in the fall.

Review of the restaurant, no experience with the hotel: Very tasty and good service! Overall, the food was very tasty and everyone was full. My tip is “cholera”, a specialty from Valais. The staff is friendly and in a good mood. The atmosphere is rustic (positive) due to the lots of wood and the old architecture. There is a star suit because the tap water ordered is charged and the tables can sometimes only be reserved for 90 minutes. That's too tight for a cozy meal with an appetizer and sitting together.

I just had the worst, and honestly, downright strange experience in this restaurant. Me and my wife both ordered the green Thai curry along with a bottle of red wine. As soon as the food arrived we noticed that the portion was tiny, resembling a children’s portion. We ate the food, which tasted ok. I’m not a big guy by any means, and we didn’t arrive to the restaurant extra hungry. But after finishing the food I was left hungry. The waitress came to collect the dishes and asked if everything was ok. We said that the portions were very small and that I am still hungry. Her response was to bring us the dessert menu card. In the end of the evening we had spent CHF 120 in this restaurant but I was still hungry and feeling upset due to the poor experience. The waitress came to collect the rest of the dishes and asked once more if everything was ok. I once again told her that the portion size was very small, and that I’m still hungry. Her response to this was the reason I’m writing this review. She loudly informed the manager across the restaurant that I was still hungry, to which the manager replied “yes”. A simple acknowledgment of my complaint would have been enough. But instead they chose to ridicule a paying customer like that in public. Unbelievable and completely uncalled for. I want to point out that we did not make a scene or anything like that at any point. We simply answered their questions in a polite way. Up until this point we had been reasonably happy with everything. The service was quick and efficient, and the food arrived amazingly fast considering how many customers there were.

This afternoon at half past three I really wanted to have cholera. Actually it would be the kitchen It had already been closed, but since the oven was still warm, they made me this Gommer specialty (I chose with cabbage and apricots). Beforehand there was an extremely tasty, very seasonal salad, served with a bottle each of balsamic vinegar and French salad dressing. The cholera was also a complete delight. A big thank you to the kitchen and the friendly service.

Preislich gehoben, qualitativ aber auch

auf ruhiger nach Süden ausgerichteter Terrasse kann man bei freundlicher Bedienung lokale Küche und Getränke, u.a. Kräutereistee, geniessen.

Wir hatten einen Gutschein und durften 2 wunderbare Nächte hier verbringen. Das Joopi ist ein Familienbetrieb, das merkt man. Die Gastfreundlichkeit ist oberstes Gebot. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bewirtet! Einen solch zuvorkommenden, freundlichen, invormativen, humorvollen Service wie ihn die ältere Dame abgeliefert hat, sieht man längers wie weniger. Ein grosses Lob und Danke an Sie. Das Hotel ist urchig und gemütlich. Das Zimmer welches wir hatten, war klein aber fein, alles war sauber und wir fühlten uns wohl. Das Abendessen welches wir am Montag Abend (Dienstag war leider zu) geniessen durften war ein Gaumenschmaus. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist toll her gerichtet und es fehlt an nichts. Auch der Chef welcher uns eingecheckt hat, war sehr freundlich. Es war rundum ein wirklich gelungener Aufenthalt! Danke an das ganze Team für die tolle Bewirtung. Wir werden garantiert wieder kommen. =)

Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Zimmer war etwas dunkel, aber sonst io. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Das Restaurant ist gut, die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Gesamthaft sehr empfehlenswert.

Kaffee und Kuchen ausnahmsweise im Joopi eingenommen, da unser Lieblingscafé Geissgädi leider geschlossen war. Der Kuchen war keine Delikatesse: Geschmacklich ok, kam aber aus dem Tiefkühler und war teilweise noch eiskalt, trotzdem er aufgewärmt wurde. Corona Hygienestandards werden auch nicht optimal umgesetzt, da uns das Besteck mit blossen Händen aufgetischt wurde.

Wir waren enttäuscht! Wir haben um 17 Uhr spontan reserviert, für ein Abendessen mit zwei kleinen Kindern. Leider wurden wir erst vor Ort darauf Aufmerksam gemacht, dass die Küche erst ab 18 Uhr geöffnet sein wird, obwohl wir bereits am Telefon mitgeteilt haben, dass wir sofort vorbei kommen möchten um mit unseren zwei kleinen Kindern zu essen.

Ho lavorato qui dal 2002 al 2003 la miglior stagione lavorativa in 4 anni in Svizzera, sono tornato da cliente nel 2006 tutto perfetto, gentilezza, cortesia, ottimi cibi, pulizia, tranquillità, ecc... ecc...

Ein exklusives Lokal mit einer echten Cholera Keine Angst, sie werden nicht krank. Cholera nennt sich eine regionale Spezialität, die ich über alles Liebe. Der „Schef“ persönlich erklärte uns anhand einer alten Pfanne, wie es zubereitet wird und wie es allenfalls zu seinem Namen „Cholera“ kam. Darüber gibt es aber viele Varianten, welche alle etwas an sich haben. Das Essen, das Ambiente, die Bedienung waren hervorragend. Herzlichen Dank, wir kommen wieder.

Die Eisbecher sind mega Gross und echt Lecker!!! Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich. Wirklich Empfehlenswert.

Die Woche im Goms war geprägt von schönem Spätsommerwetter. Habe ausgedehnte Bike- und Wandertouren unternommen und war im Hotel nur zum Essen und Schlafen. Das Essen war vorzüglich und geschlafen habe ich dank den angenehmen Nachttemperaturen auch gut. Einen Verbesserungsvorschlag hätte ich noch: Für die Biker wäre eine Velopumpe im Bikekeller nicht schlecht (oder habe ich sie übersehen?)

De passage dans la région, nous avons opter pour cet hôtel restaurant et nous sommes été surpris par la qualité des mets et de l'endroit. La cuisine est excellente avec une jolie présentation des assiettes, le personnel était très agréable. Nous reviendrons c'est sûr. Bravo à vous et merci!

sehr fein, sehr freundlich und ser faire Preise. Immer wieder einen Besuch wert!

Sicher 2 - 3x jährlich bin ich im Joopi zum Essen zu Gast. Der Service ist immer freundlich/familiär (man wird wieder erkannt!). Das Essen ist jedesmal sehr fein, ob Fleisch oder vegetarisch. Die Karte überschaubar, aber mit einem tiptopen Angebot. Natürlich fehlen auch Walliserspezialitäten nicht! Schön zu sehen, dass auf Qualität geachtet wird. Z.B. gemischter Salat: alle Sorten selbstgemacht und saisonal. Zum Kaffee: Hausgemachtes Sablé. Die Küche war schon immer gut, hat sich aber noch deutlich gesteigert. Noch ein schönes Detail zum Schluss: Beim Lavabo in der Toilette steht ein Kalender mit einem täglich wechselnden Sinnspruch.

Hotel dans le style chalet. Belle chambre avec petit balcon donnant sur la terrasse du café. Situation calme proche de la gare (200 m) sans la nuisance de route principale qui se situe plus haut. Très bonne cuisine. Personnel très avenant.

Ich beziehe mich nur auf das Restaurant. Nach einer anstrengenden Anreise über den Grimsel haben wir dieses hundefreundliche Restaurant gefunden. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Walliser Platte hat mir ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Es macht Lust auf der Fahrt hier, nur wenige Meter neben der Hauptstrasse, einzukehren und die Zeit zu geniessen.

Essen ausgezeichnet und Bedienung 'wunderbar' (sehr freundlich, aufmerksam, aber nicht aufdringlich. Preis angepasst. Lage neben Bahnhof ideal. # Kann man nur weiterempfehlen (ausser für Leute nach Guide Michelin 😉)

Kleines, feines und sehr sauberes Hotel.

Excellent accueil, beaucoup de charme, cuisine supérieure à la moyenne, rapport qualité-prix imbattable dans la région, à l'écart de la route cantonale, près de la gare (très tranquille et pas de trains la nuit), les patrons parlent le français. Que demandez de plus ? Réservation directement sur le site de l'hôtel.

Feine Küche, Lage direkt am Bahnhof, Loipe, Wandernetz

Un vrai plaisir. Accueil et service excellent. Ravioli au fromage et bolet magnifiques. Cuisson des légumes parfaite. Viandes et assaisonnements tip top. Desserts idem. Petit bemol pour la roesti pas croustillante, mais maison. Nous reviendrons.

Ideal gelegen am Bahnhof Reckingen. Gute Küche, auch für Personen mit kleinem Hunger, sehr freundliche Bedienung. Jederzeit für einen Halt empfehlenswert.

Freundlich, sauber, gute Preis/Leistung, sehr feine Cholera. Aber: wir durften mit dem Hundchen nicht in den Frühstücksraum (ist mir noch nie passiert) und zudem wurde die Rechnung mit zusätzlichen CHF 8.- belastet. Das ein Hund Aufpreis kostet, wurde weder im Vorfeld am Telefon noch auf der Homepage kommuniziert. Deshalb gibt es nicht ganz die volle Punktezahl.
