Great friendly place for walks, skiing and good food. Will definitely go again. There is also a fantastic family hidden restaurant, just a forest walk from this hotel to SaasFee.

We spent 4 nights at Haus Mattmarkblick with friends. As former regular guests, we were aware that changes naturally come with a new owner. But what we experienced during our stay was very sobering. We found the host couple Daniela and Peter Grob to be extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. No greeting at breakfast or dinner, not a word when passing by or any interest in the guest's well-being. Minimum rules of decency were missing. The breakfast buffet was ok. Was refilled upon request. The advertised 5-course dinner turned out to be an inexpensive, high-quality, simple meal without any sophistication. Salad buffet not available, instead of small plates with ready-made dressing. When checking out, there was no question about your stay and, last but not least, no farewell. It's a shame when a formerly familiar and cozy guest house, run with passion, disappoints so negatively due to a lack of commitment and lack of professionalism. Unfortunately, we three married couples can no longer recommend the Mattmarkblick!

We have been coming to the Mattmarkblick for many years. Now at the beginning of March 24 for the first time since it has new owners. Of course, you're a little skeptical at first. Wrongfully so, as we quickly discovered. Everything is still very good. The new owners, Daniela and Peter Grob, are very helpful and friendly. Services such as service in the restaurant and room service are very good. We had absolutely nothing to complain about. The quality of the cuisine is at least as good as before and also more varied. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and, in my opinion, leaves nothing to be desired. The hotel itself is a bit old. But the new owners are in the process of changing that. Some of the windows in the restaurant have already been replaced. The location of the hotel near the village square couldn't be better. From there the shuttle bus runs every 1/4 hour directly to the Metro-Alpin station in Saas-Fee. You'll be better served there than if you were in a hotel in Saas-Fee. The tourism office, the ski school office, grocery store and the post office are also right on the village square. We can highly recommend the hotel and will come back ourselves

Very friendly hotel. Clean rooms, good beds. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Good food and breakfast buffets. All special requests (allergies, etc.) are addressed individually. Perfect location; also for public transport. 50 meters from the Alpin Express bus station. In 12 minutes you can reach the Saas Fee valley station. And last but not least - the price-performance ratio is absolutely unbeatable. We'll definitely be back.

Very warm welcome, very good food, we had half board, hearty breakfast and pleasant room, serviced every day. Ideal location 2 minutes from the Saas Almagel ski slopes and 30 seconds from the shuttle bus to Saas-Fee (15 minute journey)

Nice family hotel. The managers are super friendly and very welcoming. The breakfast is very generous and there is a good choice. The products are quality. The meals are very good. Nice room and good bedding.

Need to improve the circulation of the air of the bathroom. The smell of mold was not good. The dinner was ok, I expected more. The breakfast I didn’t like much, but it is ok. The atmosphere is ok. The staff, most of them are nice and friendly, others not much. Finally if you don’t speak the language spoken in Switzerland, and you need to speak English, then will be a little difficult for the communication.

We have been coming to Saas-Almagell on vacation for several years. Until now we have always stayed in holiday apartments. This time we decided to spend our vacation in a hotel. The Hotel Mattmarkblick was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. It is a very cozy hotel with a beautiful large garden terrace. The host couple is very friendly and accommodating. The service staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is very nicely prepared and tastes excellent. In the morning there is freshly baked bread, croissants, rolls etc. from the in-house bakery. There is also a generous dessert menu with many different coups that you don't see everywhere. The boss also makes the ice cream herself. On Monday evening, Raclette à la discretion is served with very generous portions. What we also really appreciated was that with à la carte, no matter what you order, you can always help yourself to the salad buffet. And you don't have to pay extra for this salad. There is also free coffee after every meal. You rarely experience something like that anymore. We really liked it and felt very comfortable in the Hotel Mattmarkblick. We'd love to come back.

I can definitely recommend the Hotel Mattmarkblick. I received a very warm welcome. The room is very nicely decorated and everything is very neat and clean. I was given very good advice about the nearest hiking destinations, bus connections and cable cars. The Hotel Mattmarkblick is very centrally located... only a 1-minute walk from the village square and the bus stop. Just opposite there is a small pond with beautiful trees that provide pleasant shade in summer... like a small park. The hotel is very familiar, which I personally like very much. You start a conversation and just feel good! And last but not least, a word about the great cuisine and service. The food was very tasty and varied, I was a guest for 5 days and there was a new, great 5-course menu every day. A good hotel & restaurant in Saas-Almagell. The owner couple takes great care of their guests and the service is great. I booked half board, I can't say anything negative about either breakfast or dinner, everything was fine and met my expectations. The bus (free with a guest card) stops just a few meters from the hotel, very good for starting a tour. Only the rooms are a bit old. Since I was out and about a lot during the day, it didn't bother me, but it could start here. Definitely recommended and I will come back on my next visit to Saas.

Family owned hotel with excellent breakfast and dinner meals. Wonderful people, always taking good care of everything and asking if they can do any better. Very good price:quality ratio. Highly recommended for winter or summer holidays in Saas valley!

Ein sehr schönes, gastfreundliches und gut geführtes Hotel mit gemütlicher und familiärer Atmosphäre. Unsere ganze Familie hat den Urlaub genossen. Das Personal war aufmerksam, das Essen war abwechslungsreich und sehr fein, individuellen Wünschen kam man unkompliziert entgegen. Im Hotel Mattmarkblick fand man auch eine gut zusammengestellte Weinkarte, die die Reichhaltigkeit des Kantons Wallis abdeckt.

Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel! Tolle Zimmer und freundliches Personal. Das Frühstück, wie auch das Abendessen sind fantastisch! Der heisse Stein (Grillplausch) ist der Wahnsinn! Immer wieder gerne. =)

- Специально выбирал гостиницу где тебя встречает в гости именно хозяин гостиницы. Мы провели 8 дней как будто у родного дедушки в деревне! - Все рассказал и объяснил, каждый день давал свою рекомендацию куда лучше ехать сегодня, где кататься, какая погода и даже не знаю что бы мы без этих советов делали. - Продал нам скипасы, ну так дёшево я катался только на Украине лет 7 назад :) - Ужины это вообще что-то с чём-то, очень вкусные и разнообразные. Сидишь и тебя каждый вечер по 2 часа кормят. Реально 2 часа это ещё быстро! - Были мы в Феврале 2020 когда вся Европа закрыта, и Швецария с большими ограничениями, в баню попасть это вообще за гранью реальности! Это разве проблемма для дедушки? Нет конечно! Он нам организовал у себя в другом доме отдельную баню мы ходили туда вечерами и все было в нашем распоряжении. - Ещё так удачно расположена эта гостиница что просто нет слов! Тут по всюду города куда ты на автомобиле не можешь заехать. Гостиница находиться в 2 минутах до подъемника, и вокруг ещё 2 каталки + когда хорошая погода мы ехали в Церматт. Мы полностью были мобильными и ездили куда хотели, по ежедневным советам дедушки! - В другом случае, нужно ставить авто на парковку, на поезде добирается до Города, потом такси до гостиницы, катаешься только на местной каталке, выехать целая качель если хочешь на другую каталку и в конце тебе выставляют счёт за парковку, такой что можно лыжи новые купить :) - Закрытые города Церматт и Саас-Фе, кстате это и есть самые хорошие каталки. Саас-Фе на солнечной стороне. - Всем хорошего отдыха!

Wir hatten bei Rolf und Christine (Hotelbesitzer) eine super Woche. Das Essen war jeden Abend sehr gut und das Service Team hat uns super bedient. Auf spezielle Wünsche wurde eingegangen und alles war super. Vor allem das Essen muss man loben. Jeden Abend wird man mit einem 4 Gang Menu beglückt. Die Variationen der verschieden Gänge sind super. Zudem gibt es das beste Salatbuffet, dass ich kenne. Zu einem solchen Preis so ein super Essen ist wirklich einzigartig. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und für die Hotelgäste gibt es auch einen Kühlschrank im Treppenhaus bei dem man kostenlos Wasser rausnehmen kann. Im Zimmer sind ebenso noch Pflegeartikel vorhanden, was auch sehr aufmerksam ist. In Allem ein super Hotel und jeden Franken wert. Vielen Dank an Rolf und Christine und das ganze Personal. Komme gerne wieder. :)

Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt, wurden sehr herzlich willkommen geheissen. Mit viel Leidenschaft wurden wir von den Gastgebern verwöhnt. Das Essen war hervorragend und auch das Zimmer mit der schönen Aussicht auf die Berge liess keine Wünsche offen.

Das Restaurant Mattmarkblick bleibt ein Ort, wo wir gerne einkehren. Nach einem späten Mittagessen rundete ein feines Coupe mit sehr leckerem hausgemachtem Eis unseren Ausflug ab. Das war bestimmt nicht unser letzter Besuch!

Raclette op maandag is hier een aanrader. Zwitserse traditie die je een keer geprobeerd moet hebben. Gastheer Rolf is altijd vriendelijk. Ben je in Saas-Almagell. Dan moet je hier zeker even langsgaan!

Almorzamos aquí en un día frío pero soleado. Restaurante cálido y acogedor. El personal es servicial con menú en inglés. 3 de nosotros tuvimos rostii que estaban deliciosos y muy abundantes. Dos vinieron con jamón, huevo y queso, uno con queso y tomates. Todo bien cocinado y nos mantendría subiendo pendientes y caminando durante horas. También tenía sándwich y ensalada pequeña, de nuevo todo genial. Selección de ensaladas era muy bueno. El anfitrión nos agradeció por venir a su restaurante y tomamos té y café en la casa. Buen valor y muy bien hecho.

Meerdere keren hebben wij hier in dit fantastische hotel / restaurant verbleven.Ralf, destijds de eigenaar en gastheer, is zo ongeveer de aller beste en meest vriendelijke en gastvrije, gastheer.Als je hier een keer geweldig wilt eten, dan beveel ik je het steengrillen en de kaasfondue van harte aan.

We rode up their on bicycles from Saas al Meguel. The breathtaking views on the ride culminated to the most beautiful view from this restaurant terrace. Friendly service. Quick drinks served. Loads and loads of hiking paths from here. Place to park your car if that’s your choice of transport.

Die familiäre Atmosphäre im Mattmarkblick überzeugt immer wieder. Die Speisen sind gut und preiswert. Einzig der über Jahre immer gleichen Speisekarte würde mal eine Abwechslung gut anstehen.

Wolfsbarschfilet an Weissweinsauce, mit Reis und frischem Gemüse, dringend zu empfehlen! Alles Frisch gekocht und hervorragend im Geschmack.

Wunderbar gegessen, top Qualität, äusserst freundliche Bedienung, familiäres Ambiente. Was will man mehr? Wir kommen wieder!!

Wir (Familie mit 2 Kindern) assen anlässlich unserer Winterferien einmal im Restaurant Mattmarkblick zu Abend. Weil wir früh waren und es deshalb länger ging, bis das Essen kam, durften die Kinder Salat vom Buffet nehmen (so viel sie wollten, gratis!). Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen war gut, die Preise auch. Zum Abschied bekamen die Kinder noch einen Lolly. Wir können das Restaurant für einen gemütlichen Abend empfehlen und werden bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt in Saas-Almagell wieder dort essen.

Wir kennen es nur als Restaurant und haben innerhalb unseren Ferien als Start zu Mittag gegessen. Essen war gut, Bedienung sehr aufmerksam- hat uns Spass gemacht. Wir können es nur empfehlen.

Wie jedes Jahr wurden wir sehr freundlich durch Rolf und Christine empfangen. Auch das Personal ist immer freundlich und hilfsbereit.Das Essen und die Stimmung sind super, man kann jedes Gericht empfehlen. Das Käsefondue muss aber noch speziell gelobt werden: einen Traum.Speziell zu erwähnen gibt es den Musikabend, jeweils am Donnerstag Abend.

Haben im Restaurant Mattmarkblick zartes Rindsfilet, Kalbsschnitzel und Lammentercôte auf dem Grillstein selber grilliert: Empfehlenswert! Ausgezeichnet war auch die hausgemachte Bearnaise-Sauce. Das Restaurant im Walliser Stil bringt noch die richtige Ambiance.

Prima restaurant, goede service, gezellige sfeer, rustieke omgeving. Streekgerichte maaltijden, goed en prima verzorgd. Afwisselend in een familie achtige ambiance. Goede bediening en een eigenaar die zich tot in al zijn vezels inzet voor zijn klanten.Een echte aanrader.

Al jaren een vaste plek om te komen eten. Een kaart met voor iedereen wat Wils. Lekker ala kaart eten, steengrillen of fonduen, elke week een avond raclette en ook elke week een avond live muziek.Vriendelijke en gastvrije eigenaren en vriendelijk personeel!Ook s middags (om ca 16:00) een plek om weer samen te komen en een drankje te doen en ervaringen van de dag te delen.

Bei zwei Besuchen lernte ich die vorzügliche Küche dieses Hauses kennen. Der absolute Hit war die Käseschnitte! Alle Gerichte sehr preiswert, sehr nette Bedienung. Der Chef bedankt sich sogar für den Besuch. Und beide Male wurde ein Kaffee mit Schnaps offeriert! Wo gibt es noch so etwas? Ach ja, die Glace war auch super fein... :-)

Wir haben gemeinsam das Fondue Mattmark gegessen. Dazu servierte man 6 verschiedene Saucen und Früchten sowie Pommes, Kroketten oder Reis. Das Fleisch war sehr zart und die Bouillon selbstgemacht. Es werden auch Walliser Spezialitäten sowie saisonal Abhängige Gerichte angeboten. Das Fleisch wird überwiegend aus der Schweiz selbst bezogen, man achtet hier wirklich auf Qualität! Das Beef Tartar war ebenso wie das Schokomousse sehr gut.
