Thanks to the lantern path, it is also well attended in the evenings. We ran out of room to have a drink after the hike. That's my guy: reserve a table, otherwise you'll end up like us.

We were welcomed very warmly and with open arms. The nostalgic, remote wooden house has a great ambience and the food was excellent. The restaurant and all halls were fully occupied by many guests who came here to eat. Be sure to reserve in advance!

We had a great stay at the Hotel/Restaurant Alpenruh. We found cozy, homely rooms, friendly staff and very tasty food in the peace and quiet of nature. In particular, the snow-covered lantern path was fantastic! We'd love to come back!

Halfway through the great hike from the Griealp down to the Kiental, the break with great food, drinks and lovely service was simply wonderful and can only be recommended.

Traditional restaurant, located slightly below the Griesalp and the lake. Based on the glowing reviews, we probably expected too much: the food was good, but nothing outstanding. Very nice service. The noise level from the kitchen (loud knocking noises and clattering of dishes/cutlery) takes some getting used to. If that doesn't bother you and you're looking for a down-to-earth place with good food, this is the place for you.

The service leaves a lot to be desired. The price for a lunch menu was exorbitant. We waited 3/4 hours for the menu salad. The salad was almost eaten when the bread was served. Afterwards we had to wait another 1/2 hour for the warm meal.

A warm welcome in an authentic setting with good meals. The very friendly staff with a good portion of humor made us have a very pleasant evening.

Best food we had while on holiday’s! The place is charming and cozy and on a picturesque location, really magical. The lady that was our waitress was very kind and fun, also very good english. And the food… the food was absolutely amazing! We had cheese/meat plate, cordon bleu, rösti, iced coffe ( it’s more like a huge dessert than your regular Starbucks 😅) and a plum pie. Absolutely everything was perfection and served very estetically too. The portions are big which the lady kindly warned us about haha so sth to consider. We were really sad that we discovered this place so late.

It's an old house, so the beams creak when someone walks over them. If you're looking for authentic Chalte charm, that won't bother you. And it has a shared shower - but of course it's clean. The Alpenruh keeps its promises and we really liked it. And all of this at a very fair price. With a smile. Unfortunately, this combination is all too rare in Switzerland. We will be back! Thanks!

After being astonished by the beauty of Kien valley and Griesalp, we were knocking on closed door at all restaurants on Griesalp as they closed for vacation before winter seasons starts. We eventually found the cosy place Alpenruh. At first, we thought it is just good enough for a drink, or a simple snack at best. However, we were greeted warmly by the super friendly staff. The meals we then ordered have been just amazing, probably one of the best roesti and french fries I ever had. I strongly recommend this place, make sure you go with appetite as a meal at Alpenruh will be very memorable. We can not wait to go back there soonest.
