Naturfreundehaus Gorneren in Reichenbach im Kandertal

Today we spontaneously stopped at the Naturfreundehaus Gorneren for a coffee and very tasty, homemade cake. The lunch at the next table also looked very tasty. Daniel and his team gave us a very warm welcome and we were finally able to look at the lovingly furnished rooms! We really enjoyed it and you can tell that Daniel is there with all his heart! We are happy to recommend the Nature Friends House!

Best hiking trail with vegetables! Thank God we can cook again! A cozy terrace spot at the foot of the impressive mountain view, a vegetable soup at its best, at the best Swiss price! Dear Dani, thank you very much for the short-term and friendly welcome in the oldest Nature Friends House in Switzerland. A find with a grill, 3 course menu & especially vegetarian dishes. Being in the Naturfreundehaus is a little like visiting Daniel. He seems to have a lot of fun running the hut. As soon as we arrived he was on the balcony and we chatted a bit over the two days we were there. In 2023 he will be running the house for the second year. You hardly notice that he hasn't had this role for long. The house is clean. The food is fine. But what guests should not forget: the Natufreundehaus is not a hotel. The rooms have been renovated, but the house is old. The walls are thin, the floors are sloping. But the house has charm. And the most beautiful view and evening sun. Daniel helps where he can, but there is no reception or room service. We'd love to come back.

After a long hike, this stop should be the best decision. Dani, the creator, enchants his guests, is a loving and attentive innkeeper and friend. Thanks!

The facilities and my room on the second floor were basic, functional and clean. Dining room is well setup. Dinner (set menu) and breakfast were healthy, and delicious. Eating was in a communal way with given seating. I sat at the vegetarian table with two couples. We had a lively conversation. Breakfast starts at 7, which allows for an early start of a challenging stage. Daniel is friendly and customer focused with a good sense of humor, and a bit of sarcasm. The other people in the kitchen were kind and helpful. Overall the best stay of the nine days on the trail. Many thanks to Daniel and team 👍. Highly recommend.

Very friendly service and great view. However, not reasonable prices. My daughter paid 6 or 7 SFr for her syrup (two glasses of tap water). There was only one type of ice cream (which I don't think is a big deal at the beginning of the season), but the amount of cream that came with it (at an additional cost) was tiny, almost half the size of the small scoop of ice cream.

Tolles Ort für ein unvergessliches Erlebnis in den Schweizerischen Alpen im Winter😍Wichtig ist dabei genügend warme Bekleidung zu haben. Die Umgebung ist „einfach“ märchenhaft. Die Bewirtschaftung der Hütte ist durch sehr nette Menschen sichergestellt. Die alpinische Küche war sehr lecker. Im Winter hat es auch tagsüber warme Dusche, das bietet nicht jede Hütte in den Alpen an (insbesondre im Winter sehr wertvoll).
