I Due Sud, Ristorante a Lugano in Lugano

A magnificent meal. As much for the eyes as for the taste buds. It was a great dining experience. 2 exceptional menus to choose from. We had a full seasonal menu, with the selection of accompanying wines. Wines and dishes were perfectly matched, congratulations to the cook and the sommelier who are very talented. The sommelier provided very interesting explanations. The 3 servers and sommelier present were all very professional and very smiling. The atmosphere is very soft, the choice of colors delightful and the music by the pianist in the bar next door is very pleasant. An exceptional meal to end a week which was no less exceptional for us.

I didn’t like Lugano: an inflated bubble, a dummy, a parody of Monte Carlo. Noisy, bustling, full of poor people and Russians from Russia. I won’t write about the little things, I want to write about the last straw: the lie when reserving the “I Due Sud” restaurant with a Michelin star. We called in advance to reserve a table, they made an appointment for Sunday, and warned us about the strict dress code. We dressed up like fools, arrived at the appointed time, and... the restaurant was CLOSED. We thought that the entrance to the restaurant was further away, so we went looking. We came across the Veranda cafe and decided to ask their hostess about our restaurant. And the hostess answers: “What restaurant...Your reservation is with us, at the Veranda cafe.” We were stunned. We did not expect such impudence! Already on the spot, we learned from the cafe employees that the “I Due Sud” restaurant is open only 3 days a week: Thursday, Friday, Saturday. To say that they would be outraged is not enough. We felt humiliated and complete idiots. After a serious conversation with the head waiter of the Veranda cafe, it turned out that employees often do such tricks with reservations in order not to lose customers. But really, what's the difference between eating in a restaurant with a Michelin star or in a cafe? Dear Michelin employees, there is no difference! In general, it was as if we didn’t go to Lugano (Switzerland), but to Antalya (Turkey). Some kind of clownery. We’ve never been to this part of Switzerland, we came for the first time for a couple of days and managed to turn into suckers. We do not advise anyone to visit this canton of Switzerland.

Il Due Sud is located in the Paradiso district of Lugano. Indeed, it is Paradise. Since we are already in paradise, we can commit the sin of gluttony. Creativity, generosity, and perfection. A trip to the south of Italy, an unmissable restaurant.

Wow! This has been an outstanding experience! You have to go very far to find such amazing service! I want to especially mention Dumitru, who offered the best service I had the privilidge to experience. The food was very good and well presented. I can only recommend! This restaurant fits perfectly to the outstanding 5 star hotel Splendide Royal which is in my opinion one of the rare real classic luxury hotels.

Nice welcome and friendly service in a dignified atmosphere (great view of Lake Lugano and the surrounding, wooded mountain slopes). The food was almost perfect, as the sole, professionally filleted in front of the guest, found its final place on cold plates. The vegetable side dish was also a bit poor and the slightly bland fish was longing for something like a sauce... However, the beef tartare starter was excellent! Despite everything, a good performance but for a restaurant in a 5-star hotel, unfortunately only 4 stars from me..!

Just an outstanding meal. I appreciate that they have 3 options. I appreciate they didn’t have 25 ‘supplements’. The service was wonderful and gracious. The wines were paired perfectly and generous.

We went twice to eat, the first time everything was excellent even the price. The second time it was already more expensive since it received a Michelin star. This time the food was nothing special. The portions for a gourmet restaurant are too small, and it's a shame that they never ask you for a supplement. Professional service.

It was our second time in the restaurant and we enjoyed it very much. Refined swiss-italian cuisine, very good service. Fish dishes are excellent.

First night back on the job and Chef Domenico and team show no signs of rust. A fantastic seasonal tasting menu and wine pairing with a beautiful view of the lake. Abbiamo cenato qualche volta al ristorante I Due Sud dell'Hotel Splendid degustando il Menù Vegetariano. L'abbiamo sempre trovato squisito, creativo e innovativo negli abbinamenti. Con piacere e soddisfazione abbiamo appreso dell'attribuzione di una stella Michelin. Tutta meritata. Un bravo a tutto lo staff e brigata.

Dans un écrin niché au cœur de Lugano une expérience gastronomique de haute voltige vous attends dans cet établissement. Les plats sont magnifiques avec une attention particulière sur le service. La carte des vins est très raisonnable pour la qualité des vins proposés je recommande vivement cet établissement. Si vous aimez la gastronomie vous allez plus qu’apprécier ce restaurant.

Comida que no podría encontrar en algunos de los mejores restaurantes con estrellas Michelin. Tomó el menú completo, cada plato era excelente con las porciones adecuadas. Todo ligero y delicioso en su sencillez (complejo de lograr). Grandes vinos de acompañamiento y un servicio muy atento. (En cuanto al precio, una ganga en comparación con otros restaurantes suizos).

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Abend im I Due Sud. Wir genossen ein 7-Gänge-Menü, das sehr abwechslungsreich und reichhaltig war. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam, hilfsbereit und charmant.

Aparte de la atractiva decoración clásica del hotel donde se encuentra I Due Sud, la experiencia culinaria fue aburrida. El prolongado y enrevesado servicio, bastante teatral, dio paso a platos muy bien decorados con porciones muy pequeñas no siempre legibles. La descripción del camarero parecía una lista interminable de componentes que eran indetectables una vez ingeridos.En un caso, el risotto servido, apenas una cucharada, estaba demasiado cocido. Sin duda, el lugar, con una hermosa vista al lago y los cerros circundantes, brinda a los clientes (7 personas la noche que estuve allí) una gran sensación de lujo y opulencia pero ciertamente no de placer gastronómico.

It was a truly outstanding experience: everything was to the highest standard. They have 4 tasting menus to choose from, with the option to reduce the amount of meals. We took a full menu “La nobilta et la tradizione” with accompanying wine. The food is a mix of South Swiss + South Italy traditions. It was incredibly interesting to dive into these traditions and feel interesting and incredible tastes. Wines were a perfect match to every meal. The Sommelier was of a very high level, very knowledgeable and professional. The service was outstanding, every little detail was just perfect. The service was really outstanding even in comparison with other gastro and Micheline restaurants. The atmosphere is very classic with a beautiful music on the background. I highly recommend this restaurant

Fue una experiencia verdaderamente excepcional: todo fue al más alto nivel.Disponen de 4 menús degustación a elegir, con opción a reducir la cantidad de comidas.Tomamos un menú completo “La nobilta et la tradizione” con vino de acompañamiento. La comida es una mezcla de tradiciones del sur de Suiza y del sur de Italia. Fue increíblemente interesante sumergirse en estas tradiciones y sentir sabores interesantes e increíbles. Los vinos eran la combinación perfecta para cada comida. El Sommelier era de muy alto nivel, muy informado y profesional.El servicio fue excelente, cada pequeño detalle fue perfecto. El servicio fue realmente excepcional incluso en comparación con otros restaurantes gastronómicos y Micheline. El ambiente es muy clásico con una hermosa música de fondo. Ayant choisi ce restaurant d'après les avis du "michelin"et de Trip,j'ai choisi deséjourner à l'hotel.Il n'y a que six tables,ouvert qu'a Dinner en fin de semaine,le maître d'hotel et le serveur travaillant aussi dans l'autre restaurant à cote:la véranda. De grandes baies vitrées avec une merveilleuse vue sur le lac.Personnel charmant,parlant français. Une cuisine qui paraît simple et qui est délicieuse,et où on reconnaît les plats principaux des mises en Bouches, un restaurant ou quand le repas est fini,il vous reste le souvenir de ce que vous avez mange.Le tout arrose d'un exellent "merlot rouge (on nous a proposé le moins cher!).Je ne sais pas comment le chef arrive à servir cette cuisine si fraiche pour si peu de monde et en si peu de jour?Mérite le 15/20 deux toques au GM et mériterai une voir deux etoiles au michelin.Bravo et continuez.

Freshly cooked meals made out of top quality ingredients. You really can flavor the quality, my sister and I were definitely very impressed. Didn't wait long to be offered, meal arrived promptly. Really like this place, not too expensive. My brother and sis suggested it to me, was not unfulfilled, lovely food and good price also. We actually want to thank the staff for making my brother's birthday so special.

Complimenti a tutti per la professionalità ed accoglienza!Il menu e il concetto del ristorante sono straordinari e dal primo piatto è stato un crescendo di sapori.Difficile dire quale il piatto preferito, del menu "Il pomodoro che non c e" ma negli highlights il bufalotto, linguini e dulcis in fundo il bergamotto! Delisiozo.Torneremo sicuramente per provare i prossimi percorsi di gusto proposti dallo chef.Bravi!

Unglaubliche Erfahrung zu einem tollen Preis. Der Service war ausgezeichnet und sehr nett. Perfekt von Anfang bis Ende. Wir genossen die delikaten Gerichte und den außergewöhnlichen Service

Abbiamo trascorso una magnifica serata presso il ristorante Due Sud nell’hotel SPLENDIDE Royal struttura monumentale lussureggiante di gran fascino, ristorante con una stupenda vista lago, siamo stati accolti con discrezione, molta professionalità e cordialità da parte dei collaboratori, lo Chef Domenico propone un menu con prodotti genuini di qualità in concomitanza al sommelier Simone Ragusa che a sua volta abbina ad ogni piatto del menu un vino adatto. Chef e sommelier ci hanno portato a fare un viaggio senza confini arricchendo il nostro palato, con un menu ricco di sapori abbinato a vini di eccellente annate, un vero tesoro, un’esperienza da condividere con la famiglia o il proprio partner per trascorrere una serata indimenticabile in un Splendida location!

Ristorante Gourmet presso Hotel Splendide Royal Lugano, ambiente di classe, cucina sublime e servizio davvero eccellente! Da provare per una cena indimenticabile! Assolutamente consigliato! Una meraviglia per gli occhi e per il palato!

Cena semplicemente fantastica! Tutto era squisito ed ogni portata era da leccarsi i baffi! Vista magnifica e cameriere gentilissimo. Aver scelto il menu accompagnato da un vino diverso per ogni portata si è rivelata una scelta azzeccata! I vini scelti dal sommelier (molto simpatico) erano perfetti! Per concludere: ci torneremo di sicuro e consigliamo di tornare in taxi

Cibo ottimo, ambiente caldo ed accogliente in una cornice storica ed affascinante. Abbiamo trascorso una piacevolissima cena e ci sentiamo di consigliare questo ristorante di livello dove la cura per il dettaglio non viene trascurata

The meal I ate was very delicious. But I will say that the passion fruit cheese cake with white chocolate should be taken off the menu. There were too many components that didn't go together. Cheesecake is my favorite desert and I was just disappointed. I always finish my food and I left most of it. The risotto and sea urchin pasta were very nice. Nothing to complain about. The service and atmosphere were a stand out in a good way. And the last thing, I think they could give much better bread at the beginning of the meal.

E’ il ristorante dello Splendide Royal, hotel a 5 stelle affacciato sulle sponde del lago e bellissimo con i suoi 130 anni di storia. Quindi si parte da una location di grande effetto composta da uno staff selezionatissimo. Lo chef Domenico Ruberto, calabrese DOC, serve dei piatti sublimi, materie prime eccellenti abbinate con grande maestria e passione, capace come pochi di trasmettere emozioni nel percorso gastronomico delle sue proposte. Eccellente la collaborazione con il sommelier Simone Ragusa che, grazie anche alla fornitissima cantina, sa consigliare i vini che meglio possono accompagnare l’esperienza culinaria. E’ già uno staff pluripremiato ma credo che ci siano tutti i presupposti perché questi grandi professionisti possano continuare a ottenere importanti riconoscimenti. Davvero complimenti a tutto lo staff !

Ho provato questo Ristorante lo scorso venerdi con una decina di amici.Si trova all'interno dell'Hotel Splendide Royal a Lugano ed ha una spettacolare veranda con vista lago.La degustazione consisteva in una cena gourmet di 7 portate con l'abbinamento di vini di altissima qualità.Complimenti allo Chef Domenico Ruberto e al Sommelier Simone Ragusa per averci fatto provare un esperienza indimenticabile e a tutto lo staff molto preparato e attento ad ogni dettaglio.Siamo rimasti colpiti dalla professionalità, dall'accoglienza e soprattutto dalla qualità del cibo e dei vini.Eccellente! Assolutamente consigliato.

La meravigliosa sala dello Splendide Royal offre la cornice perfetta per l’elegante cena che viene servita in questo ristorante. Il menu degustazione del giovane chef è un continuo deliziare con piatti del sud della Svizzera in unione con il sud dell’Italia (elemento preponderante). Ne derivano gusti nuovi su tradizione consolidata. Tutto molto leggero ma con gusti decisi e distinti. Tra tutti la pasta al pomodoro che non c’è e l’antipasto di gamberi viola, eccellenti. Sono sicuro che il ristorante otterrà un riconoscimento da importanti critici, direi anche a breve.

Our waiter Manuel was very professional and knowledgeable At the end of the evening they surprised us with a box of biscuits and some chef's oil. Anfangs der übliche Kampf um einen guten Tisch - der Junior-Kellner wollte uns eine ungemütliche Ecke im Hinterzimmer andrehen, dabei hatten wir über einen Monat vorher reserviert gehabt - der Senior-Kellner hat dann aber gut reagiert und uns einen schönen Tisch im vordersten Raum gegeben (der hintere Tisch blieb den ganzen Abend leer...). Es lohnt sich an solch gehobenen Orten immer, sich zu wehren!Zur Auswahl standen vier sechsgängige Menüs, verkürzbar auf vier Gänge, eines davon vegetarisch. Zu jedem Menu stand pro Gang auch eine glasweise passende Weinauswahl zur Verfügung. Wir wählten ein Menu mit Fleisch und das ohne und zwei Gläser Wein. Service makellos perfekt, Speisen ausgezeichnet, schön präsentiert (zum Glück in normalen Tellern...) und genügend gross, dass man nicht hungrig nach Hause musste.Preislich sehr hoch, aber der Qualität angemessen und schliesslich gönnt man sich das ja auch nicht jede Woche.

Während unseres tollen Aufenthalts in diesem beeindruckenden Hotel hatten wir die Gelegenheit, das brandneue Fine Dining Restaurant von Lugano, I Due Sud, zu probieren, da der Name eine großartige Mischung und Interpretation der Südschweizer (Lugano) und der süditalienischen Küche nahe legt. Die Menüs sind großartig, mit einer Auswahl an Fleisch, Fisch oder Vegetarisch, gepaart mit gut ausgewählten Weinen des Sommeliers, um das tolle Erlebnis zu garantieren. Das Essen, der Service und die Atmosphäre sind einfach atemberaubend. Ich kann dieses großartige Hotel nur wärmstens empfehlen. ! !

Senza dubbio una delle cene più buone della mia vita, il mio piatto preferito e gamberi viola con seppia al vapore , caviale di trota e liquirizia! Una vera prelibatezza! Super consigliato per gli amanti del buon cibo !

Мы были в прошлом году в этом отеле и уже дважды пробовали кухню шефа Доменико, каждый раз оставались в полном восторге, и когда услышали про открытие нового ресторана, с нетерпением ждали нашего ужина. Этот вечер превзошёл все наши ожидания! Каждое блюдо - произведение искусства и просто невероятное вкусовое наслаждение! Обслуживание как всегда на высшем уровне! Рекомендуем всем, кто отдыхает или живет поблизости с Лугано, этот ресторан обязателен к посещению!

Dieses elegante Restaurant mit Seeblick wurde im Hotel Splendide Royal in Lugano neu eröffnet und verfügt über ein aufmerksames, unaufdringliches Personal. Der Veranstaltungsort ist ruhig und wunderschön. Der Star ist das Essen, das von einem jungen erfinderischen und preisgekrönten Koch zubereitet wird, der saisonale Produkte aus der Südschweiz und aus Süditalien (daher der Name) kombiniert. Das Essen passt hervorragend zu den vom Sommelier vorgeschlagenen Weinen. Ich kann es sehr empfehlen, hier in Lugano zu Abend zu essen.

Ieri sera ho avuto il piacere di cenare presso questo ristorante che ha appena aperto con un nuovo concept, all'interno dell'Albergo Splendide Royal . Una vera chicca che, come ci ha spiegato il loro Sommelier, unisce i cibi del sud della Svizzera a quelli del sud Italia, zona di provenienza dello Chef Devo dire, che è stata una bellissima serata con il cibo a farla da padrone. Un menu equilibrato e abbondante (ne hanno 4 di cui uno vegetariano) con un abbinamento vini perfetto. È veramente bello poter parlare bene di un giovane Chef che lavora a Lugano, questo mi rende felice, innanzi tutto perchè il livello di cucina era veramente alto e poi perchè come da sempre racconto, anche da noi si trovano delle vere e proprie eccellenze. I posti al ristorante sono pochi quindi la location è perfetta per cene intime, con un servizio all'altezza e una vista stupenda sul lago di Lugano.
