IKRA Restaurant in St. Gallen

Even after several attempts to find a solution to the overcharged food with the restaurant, no one responded. This is probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. That's no way to win guests! In this case it is more appearance than reality.

It was so relaxed there. We were at the bar. Staff were very friendly and communicative. Going again. Food looked amazing.

The ambience is sensational. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was simply world class. I can highly recommend it.

This assessment seems fair to me, albeit critical. The food is attractively presented, but the taste is not outstanding in the comparable price segment. The portions could be a bit more generous. Unfortunately, the ladies' coats were not taken away and we had to wait over 30 minutes before we lost patience and had to point out to a waiter that we had already been sitting here for over 30 minutes but had not been given any tickets or the opportunity to order a drink. This is a serious mistake in this segment. In terms of ambience, I think it was beautifully designed with lighting and decoration, however it was a bit stuffy at times.

Were in Ikra for the first time today. Beforehand, we were amazed by the reviews we made. And we were happy to eat here. The ambience is fantastic, the waitresses are unfortunately pure genius. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing for a restaurant with this would-be label. No proper wine glasses, missing place settings on the table. The food was good but not what it promised. Unfortunately, the final conclusion is a straight 4 and that's enough. This place has a lot of potential But it urgently needs to be managed more expertly and professionally. We are two independent restaurant testers who always look at everything objectively. Unfortunately we have to give this restaurant a negative review.

It was delicious! decoration and presentation of food is the best in St. Gallen

In this restaurant you can see the perfect harmony between service and cuisine. Food was incredibly good. Every course was perfectly seasoned. The chefs really know what they're doing. We had the wine accompaniment to our menu. Here too, every wine went perfectly with the menu. The service had really strong expertise and was very attentive. You can still tell that it's a new restaurant, but I'm sure if they continue like this, Gault Millau or Michelin will soon take notice of them. For me the best restaurant in St. Gallen!

IKRA is pure madness! I do not know where to start. The dishes, the taste, the ambience with the super chic and beautiful decor. Everything tasted sooooo good. Finally there is a restaurant in St. Gallen where everything is just right and at the highest level! Thank you for the unforgettable evening. We'll definitely be back!

Visited Ikra during a visit to St. Gallen. Nice restaurant with a great atmosphere, incredibly tasty food and nice staff. We will come back in any case! I especially recommend the specialty oysters, red shrimp and scallop risotto!

Had a dinner at IKRA when I was in St.Gallen for a few days. The place is unforgettable! The atmosphere and the food is simply amazing. Loved their signature oyster with champagne jelly and black caviar and theit signature dessert IKRAmisu, everything was delicious and the service is really friendly. The owner came up to us as well to make sure everything’s good.

It's just mega and above all one thing: NOT 0-8-15!! The whole concept impresses with its uniqueness: starting with the design of the facility (I could live here! 🤩) to the menu and its implementation (greetings to the kitchen! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻) to the service. Everything was great. The daughter in service proudly told us the story of how IKRA came about and about the passion of her mom and her business partner, which you can see, taste and feel. Keep it up! I celebrate your courage in implementing this concept in St. Gallen and hope that the success continues! I'll be back and bring new guests 😉

Excellent food. Very stylish location.

Spontaneous visit during the week. Nice atmosphere. There was a draft at the table and the background music was too loud. Service is not what you would expect when you see the prices on the menu and wine list. Dishes are presented in an original way, but are not explained when they are served (I would expect that for the price). The taste was ok but not the WOW experience. Dessert prices are beyond acceptable. Espresso served in cold cups without any goodies.

We were there last week - the food was good and creatively prepared, but the portions were a little too small (compared to Netts, Candela, Einstein Gourmet and Gupf - the restaurant would probably also like to compete in this class). The wine list is large and varied and the prices are ok. Compared to other sizes in St.Gallen, the Ikra still has to catch up a bit in terms of service. The service is friendly and does its best, but is not always attentive, but in this price range this is a must. Furthermore, the staff smokes right next to the customers on the terrace - it would be desirable to smoke in a different place to avoid residual smoke being "dragged" into the restaurant. It also doesn't make the best impression when the service staff smokes next to the eating customers. Finally, it should be said that the location is a feast for the eyes and very beautifully staged. The restaurant invites you to linger. Conclusion: good approach with potential for improvement - I will come back in a few months and update here.

100% recommended. The Basaniel Martini cocktail (think vodka, vanilla, rosé and half a passion fruit) is particularly good. Best service in all of St Gallen and extremely good cuisine.

Great food in a beautiful ambience and excellent service

Very good food, both inventive and tasty. There is also a pleasure for the eyes and the service is very attentive. The decor is chic and intimate, in very good taste. Favorite for the cod with morels, a real delight. An address to absolutely try before it is completely taken over!

A restaurant at the highest level! The decor is elegant and stylish, every dish looks like a work of art and is perfectly prepared, the condition is very attentive but not intrusive. And the wine list deserves special mention: it really leaves nothing to be desired! Lunch in Ikra is also recommended: it's quick, good value for food of this quality and there's no rush! I would recommend Ikra to anyone who likes something special!

A very good fine dining restaurant in St.Gallen. I came especially from beautiful Aargau and was very positively surprised. A great price/performance ratio. The staff as well as the location and the atmosphere simply deserve 5 stars from me. Great location a must if you are traveling in St.Gallen.

Beautiful Restaurant but a pitty that the food and service do not match the decoration and our expectations for such prices. I would also recommend them to inform their clients in the Menu where their meat comes from. Also there is no need for their waiters to wear a black glove which makes them clumsy and everything slips from their hands. Minestrone soup was a joke and no taste at all. Everything else was ok, but nothing especial. Work on your service. Show them how to be much more attentive and professional and not leaving the tables unattended for so long.

A real treat for the eyes, tongue and soul! They say - dreams are the language of the soul and the restaurant is a realization of a dream. Every detail is lovingly thought out, unique and designed with high-quality taste. The contact with the realization of dreams fascinates me. I say BRAVO! A restaurant renovated in the Hollywood style of the 30s with a bar that would also fit in Berlin Babylon. The bar is two floors high and offers a fantastic view from the newly installed cozy gallery with its almost cloud-like glass lighting elements and the giant rose window. The crew is very accommodating and the cuisine is excellent. A great addition to this still undiscovered corner near Red Square and the Hotel Einstein.

Very beautiful and unique design. The food was extremely tasty. Service staff was great and very friendly. It was immediately apparent that the customer is king for you. A place to feel good, I will come back at any time.

We had an exceptionally lovely Saturday lunch with fantastic food. Enjoyment and art on the plate and in the mouth! Special restaurant with an excellent ambience. The design and the whole concept are great. The service was warm, so you immediately felt at home. We will be happy to come back and can wholeheartedly recommend Ikra.

The stylish Ikra impresses with its attention to detail, in the heart of St.Gallen. Let yourself be pampered with wonderful food and drinks. I recommend: Starter, beef tartar on homemade focaccia, with burrata, roasted hazelnuts and egg yolk gel.

Ikra is a beautiful restaurant. The design and interior design concept are fantastic. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. The desserts fascinated me the most. I have tried several and must say that each one is perfectly sophisticated in its own way, beautifully presented and has a harmonious taste. The service is excellent and very elegant. The food is served with black gloves, which goes well with the concept of the restaurant. The visit was a nice experience and I look forward to visiting the restaurant again soon.

Extraordinary design, unique atmosphere & top quality

Visit on February 1st, 2023: This is a new opening. Very nice ambience, the service is perfect, the cuisine (menu) as well, absolutely round or new German: umami. The only drawback. Word has yet to get out that Ikra exists, so there were very few guests there. Here I would have expected the owner/boss to introduce himself and perhaps introduce the concept... but unfortunately nothing came of it. This made him/her seem a bit arrogant. It would have made the visit even more perfect.

Interior design is great, but food is a flop. Bad champagne and wine. The food would be gourmet, but it doesn't taste nearly as good. I wouldn't recommend it! Trying to be luxurious with great service unfortunately doesn't make it. Overrated.

Beautiful restaurant that could exist in London and New York. Very, very fine food, delicious champagne and wine, extremely nice service, very dog-friendly, completely ok in terms of price. There is room for improvement when making reservations (cannot be reached by phone, online reservations do not work with your smartphone, you are asked to reserve via Whatsapp). Points are also deducted for the lukewarm red wine and that, despite asking, you don't find out anything about the owners or the chef's career. The service is served in black gloves, but the exact contents of the very beautiful plates are not explained to you. The restaurant has incredible potential, but it still needs to be awakened.
