Indian Rasoi in Carouge (GE)

Arguably the best Indian restaurant in Geneva! Tucked away in Carouge, this place is a treat for one looking for a sumptuous meal. All the dishes are delicate on the palate. The decor is simple and easy on the eyes. A welcome change indeed from the run of the mill Indian restos on offer in Europe. A bit high on price, but not unreasonable for a Michelin star restaurant. Make sure you reserve a table cos as it’s always packed!

Best experience I have ever had. Loved everything about Indian Rasoi . Starting from the food, the ambience, well behaved and polite staff. I am highly impressed and would strongly recommend others to go to this place. Felt like home away from home

Absolutely spectacular food. The owner told me they have the best Biryani in Switzerland, and he is 1000% right. The food is spiced as in India, which is rare to find in CH. They also have a proper tandoori oven and they clearly know what they are doing in the kitchen. The location and service are also very good. I strongly recommend this restaurant!

Most authentic Indian restaurant I have come across my travels in Europe and USA. So proud of Kuldeep Singh Rawat for presenting such amazing food in Geneva. Not to forget the outstanding hospitality. Very highly recommended.

Service too slow. 1h30 wait at noon for the dish of the day. Field cut 17 fr for a stale product which was already sitting open in the cooler. Ok to finish the bottle but a small gesture on the price would have been appreciated.

For me, it is quite simply the best Indian restaurant in Geneva. The setting and the neighborhood are truly fantastic. It’s always good news to go and eat at Indian Rasoi, because we also go to the charming town of Carouge. You don't change a winning team, but for me, the Samosas are fantastic and for the main course, I will always favor the Korma chicken. A tender chicken and a sauce, which is a change from the traditional butter chicken, which you find everywhere! Well done ! Keep it up :)

Very good tasting Indian food is served here. The owner / chef previously worked at the Indian restaurant at hotel mandarin. The food tasted delicious and the portions were correct. Also the plain and butter naans were very tasty. However on in our party ordered a cheese naan, and this was not well made at all as the cheese was at one side of the naan, rather than nicely spread over the whole naan. The restaurant is quite small inside, luckily they have a large garden terrace for the summer, as well as a street terrace. The restaurant was quite full when we visited it. The waiters were running around to serve everybody, and the waiting times at the table were on the longer side. Also some junior waiters were a bit lost what to do, E.g. a junior waiter took our plates away, while thereafter they had to be brought back. Overall delicious food, but improvements are needed in the overal restaurant experience to justify the expensive rates they charge

Food is amazing but just increased prices for a second time this year +15% since March 2023 for the exact same basket/quantities/quality when inflation in Switzerland is now at 1.7% … food is still amazing but what an increase in just 4 months!!

It’s indeed expensive (we’re in Geneva!) but so good! The portions are generous, the waitresses adorable and the setting pretty. The dishes are refined and perfectly spicy and spicy.

Honestly it had to have been my favourite Indian restaurant I've been to so many Indian restaurants and not single one of them was nearly as good as this. The food was spectacular and the service was brilliant. The only possible thing I could critique it for was that they sat me at the back, far away from most of the atmosphere.

It was recommended. Food n service satisfactory, however the layout was cramped. The room we were had 16 guests and was a bit claustrophobic.

Paneer, samosa, spicy lamb vindaloo: delicious dishes. A beautiful trip to India. The service was up to par, the waitresses very welcoming. We will come back.

It's not that good. We ordered paneer tikka, which was not at all home made paneer, it was made from the paneer that's locally available in co-op which tastes more like cheese than paneer. The palak paneer was another disaster. We ordered Biryani, which was good. I wouldn't go back to this restaurant.

Fantastic food and great service. Everything was just a little special; fresh herbs or grated ginger to garnish each dish, a sprig of fresh mint in the bottle of water. They quickly accommodated our request to move an outside table into the shade on a sunny day. I'm trying to update all my reviews to answer the important question "would I go back?" This place gets an enthusiastic "yes".

The restaurant itself is very cozy and the food was delicious. The owner of the restaurant was our host. He is very invested to his job you can tell he loves what he is doing, and hospitality we saw was incredible. Thank you :)

Succulent, it's fine and light, well done to the chef. my friends, two people who have known this cuisine well since childhood, helped me choose, they were also very satisfied with the dishes. The boss gave us very good advice and also helped us choose the wine, red or white as desired, I opted for a small open Chardonnay 2017, for lovers of great wines I noticed that they They have good vintage wine too, ask the boss. As the weather permitted we were outside - covered terrace, the street is wide not much traffic so pleasant. Inside, a good size room, several tables with enough space, there is also a back room but I didn't really observe it. For 3 people a starter and two main courses were more than enough, chicken tikka, chicken Makhani and the eggplant caviar which I particularly appreciated in addition to the rice and the naan - plain or cheese/garlic Would have to come back to try the lamb.. The dishes are delicious. Really very good. One of the best Indians in Geneva. On the other hand, there is a real problem with the service, more precisely with a server. This one was very aggressive, rude, and completely useless. He managed to ruin our evening. Totally unbearable “Parisian” service. The boss should do something quickly because he will lose customers because of him. Damage. We will come back when this server is no longer there.

Dined with my visiting friends from Delhi. We had the vegetable curry, vegetable samosas, the grilled paneer, and the spinach paneer, followed by the mango cheesecake and the raspberry mousse. Excellent! All very tasty and distinctly spiced.

Easily the best Indian food in Geneva

First visit to Indian Rasoi. Very satisfied with the service and the dishes. We took the business menu at 42 CHF with starter, main course and dessert. Everything was very good. I particularly liked their Naan with cheese and the dessert

This is the best butter chicken in Geneva for me and every time the quality was there, if you want to eat to take away or eat in, go there you will be very surprised ☀️

Much, much too expensive for the place!!! The decoration absolutely does not transport us to India, the dishes, certainly good (hence the 2 stars), are far too expensive, and what can we say about the glass of Gamay red wine from Bernex at 9.50 dl!!! or mediocre coffee at 4.20...finally, the waiter was limited in his words, probably believing he was being humorous, he embarrassed my 18 year old daughter-in-law...we won't be back!

No doubt, one of the best Indian fine dining in Geneva. Salmon Tandoori is to die for and I couldn't help but scoop off every bit of the Roganjosh with the soft and fluffy naan. We ordered the cheese and garlic-chilli naan. Chicken Biryani is the best I had in Geneva, sealed with a naan bread and dum in the oven. Amazing service and beautiful decor. Ambiance is chic & welcoming and in addition we had a direct view to the kitchen . What else could you ask for:) We finished the evening with a mango cheese cake. Yum and Yum. Would definitely visit it again.

Very good quality food, pleasant service. Two downsides: the homemade non-alcoholic cocktails at 14 chf each are very, too expensive. Saffron rice at 12chf is too expensive, not to mention that apart from the color, there is not much difference to plain rice

Enormous know-how from cooking to serving, something we perhaps see too little of but it makes the experience all the more enjoyable.

Different to the standard Indian restaurants across Geneva who seem to all serve the same dishes and share similar tastes, while Rasoi dishes have an exceptional and unique flavor.Garden at the back is charming and the service was very good. Pricey, but normal given the reputation of the chef.

Lors de la réservation on nous a indiqué de venir à 21.00 et que nous étions les derniers clients qu’ils prenaient. Plutôt bon signe mais arrivé sur place la réalité était bien différente. Ils ont doublé toutes tables et traités les tables comme bon leur semblait sans priorité d’arrivée donc déjà de l’attente. Après avoir pu enfin commander, nouvelle attente pour les entrées, tikka un peu sec mais bonne crevettes. La où ça se gâte c’est les plats comme si le chef n’avait plus de plats prêts et a fait du rafistolage. Byriani sec, sauce de l’agneau sans saveur indienne tout ça sous les commentaires obséquieux du serveur qui s’empressait d’aller demander aux autres tables si ça leur avait plus avec une forte voix comme pour nous faire sentir que nous avions tort. Je m’était rendue en décembre 2019 dans ce restaurant et avait superbement bien mangé.ce fut donc une grande déception surtout d’y amener ma famille au motif que ma précédente expérience était bonne.Attention. Si on peut comprendre que la fermeture due au Covid vous a fait du mal ne tentez pas de rattraper le temps au détriment de la qualité.

La gastronomie indienne est souvent mal mise en valeur, à force de proposer les mêmes plats, plus ou moins préparés en avance. Ce n'est pas le cas ici, où l'on a à faire avec un "vrai" chef, créatif et passionné passé par des établissements prestigieux à l'étranger et à Genève. Avec lui, néophytes et amateurs redécouvrent des saveurs, dans une approche hautement gastronomique. Culinairement parlant, il y a de tout, de la couleur, des textures, des clins d’œil locaux et surtout du goût à tous les étages. Les prix sont en conséquence, (mais l'expérience montre que les restaurants indiens sont souvent plus chers que ce que laisse penser leur réputation. À vous de voir, selon l'humeur et l'occasion). Grande terrasse fleurie et au calme, à l'arrière.

Excellent new addition to Indian cuisine in Geneva and Carouge. It's different from other Indian restaurants as it offers modern and fancy dishes. It's more Indian and French fusion. Overall delicious food served with style by a very experienced team who has previously worked at Mandrial Oriental hotel. For authentic desi food lovers, spices are relatively mild but you will enjoy none-desi twist. The lunch menu is around 29 CHF (Veg and meat option). The fancy menu is 89 CHF.
