We had been looking for a good fish restaurant with real perch for a long time. Finally found today. Conclusion: the Egliknusperli were excellent including a side dish, and the alternative Cordonbleu was also super juicy and tender. The fish soup was excellent. Beautiful ambience in the garden with wonderful, still summery temperatures. Many thanks to the service and the kitchen. See you soon again. Angela and Jean

Beautiful place to stay outside by the lake. The salad was fresh and deliciously prepared. We really enjoyed the fish crispies. The portions were generous. We'd love to come back.

A very traditional and family restaurant, located on the edge of the small Altenrhein marina on the "Bodensee" lake. Delicious dishes, mainly fish (Egli, Felchen, etc.), which are the specialty of the house, served in the garden, in the shade of trees. Wonder.

We had garlic bread as a starter: firstly, it was way too expensive. CHF 8.- for a few slices of bread. It was an orange, indefinable spread which was gratinated with cheese. This is definitely not garlic bread. We ordered mixed fish crispy with salad. The crispy cookies were delicious, but the salad was delivered separately about 10 minutes beforehand. We asked what kind of salads they were. The waitress had no idea. We also said that we didn't want any zucchini, pepperoni or egg on it, please. The wish was not fulfilled...

Excellent food and a beautiful outdoor seating area make a visit to the Jägerhaus Altenrhein highly recommended. I eat there regularly and have never been disappointed.

Wonderful location, we ate excellent fish dishes in the beautiful and large garden. Even the dessert (strawberry tart) was absolutely freshly prepared, something we've never experienced anywhere else. The only downer was the relatively long waiting time. But the quality on offer makes up for it. Clear recommendation for fish lovers!

Excellent freshly caught fish from Lake Constance, that's why you come here. Friendly staff. The restaurant is unfortunately a bit outdated, but it is still typically Swiss and cozy.

2 veal schnitzels together approx. 150g. 3 wheels of carrots (probably frozen), 1 mushy cherry tomato, half a tablespoon of canned peas and a piece of burnt eggplant. Plus a few fries and a Cola Zero for just under 41 francs. Good cuisine looks different. Never again.

If you're hungry, this is a bad restaurant because we had to wait 1.5 hours and then a small portion came which was very poor value for money. (Too expensive)

The staff is attentive and friendly, but the owner/chef is rude and would not come again for this reason. The atmosphere is ok, not too cozy. We weren't very convinced of the price/performance ratio either.

Good food, had a Cordon Bleu for 42.-CHF and waited more than 1.5 hours. It's a shame that just can't happen. Service was very nice. Still only one star for the long wait.

We received very courteous and friendly service at the Jägerhaus, thank you. The pike was well seasoned, the variety of vegetables was enormous and not only pulled from the water, the Ribelchüechli also went well with it. The hamburger, fries and sauce were also really tasty. We can highly recommend the Jägerhaus. Even though it's getting a bit old and has a few years under its belt, it hasn't lost its charm. We will be back.

Excellent fish crispy! Without a greasy fried breading as usual, the Jägerhaus manages to skillfully prepare and conjure up these fantastic spiced fish crispies, which offers a unique experience. The food is underlined by the three excellent homemade sauces, the romantic outdoor location and the proximity to the lake. Awarded three culinary stars, it is worth every franc. For me this is the insider tip when it comes to regional Lake Constance fish. Thanks for the experience.

If you like real fish and a fantastic garden restaurant this is the place to go. Delicious menus and desserts for sure there is for everyone something on the card. Only real downside is that smoking is possible outside. People on the neighbor table where smoking non stop for almost two hours and we had all the smoke on our table. With having such a great menu we were really disappointed about this situation. That's why I have only given 4 stars.

It may be that this restaurant was once “not good”... but apparently the folks at the Jägerhaus didn't notice that the competition doesn't sleep. It's called a fish restaurant and all that's on the menu is perch and whitefish...? Whitefish were totally over salted 😟 Menus came with the wrong side dishes and when a complaint was made the answer from the older, snippy service lady was “Joo etz hats halt daa druff!”... ??? Overall, the style of a better broom restaurant with staff that are constantly running around stressed out, with empty tables and then never come to the table to ask for coffee, desserts etc. After I was shouted at by the boss at the PP last year telling me to get out of there, he didn't think I wanted to go to the restaurant and the PP wasn't for lake walkers... we thought we'd give the Jägerhaus another chance... but sorry... no way... Never again and I certainly won't recommend it!

We were walking along Lake Constance and happened to pass the hunter's lodge. There is a small "buffet" with snacks and you are also served outdoors with offers from the menu. It has a small park where you can sit down with a coffee or a snack. Take-away offers are also possible.

Fish crispies are simply outstanding

Easily accessible by bike. Only take away until Sunday, but with the usual delicious quality. The fish crispies and the salad are amazing. It's been serving up again since Monday. Always a nice trip.

Very good fresh fish from Lake Constance and the kitchen uses many regional products. Very nice operation and good service. It's especially nice to sit outside in summer. There is a small playground for children. The only negative thing is that it only has stairs and no disabled-accessible entrance.

We had an excellent meal during Corona times: zander fillet "Buchhorner style", great salad and tartare. Always worth a visit!

Das Essen ist ohne Zweifel sehr gut. Doch der "dank" dem miesen Service (Wartezeiten bis zu einer Stunde) sowie der völlig veralteten und unbequemen Gartenbestuhlung verliert das Restaurant ganz massiv an Atraktivität. Die Preise für das Essen sind so gesehen zu hoch.

Die Location ist an und für sich schon ansprechend. Bis man zum reservierten Platz geführt wird, vergeht schon etwas Zeit, kein Problem - man steht einfach irgendwie im Weg rum und fühlt sich schon das erste Mal fehl am Platz. Wir wurden zu unserem reservierten Platz geführt, dann lief die Dame wortlos weg. Es vergingen ca. 15 Minuten, bis dann eine andere Dame zu uns mit Speisekarten (laminierte, lieblose A4 Blätter) an den Tisch trat und uns endlich fragte, ob wir etwas trinken wollen. Natürlich wollen wir das! Es ist mittlerweile über 30 Grad warm! Naja, ich möchte jetzt nicht allzuweit ausholen: Meine gewünschte Vorspeise gabs nicht mehr, der Rosé war vieeeel zu warm. Mein Hechtfilet war zum zweiten Mal über dem Feuer gestorben und beim Würzen ist wohl der Deckel vom Streuer abgefallen. Die Knusperli meiner Frau waren kälter als der Rosé… Der „Salat“ war dermassen langweilig und unkreativ, die Sauce aus der Flasche für den Campingausflug schmeckt mindestens 10 mal besser... Alles schien so lieblos und unmotiviert. Schade! Unsere Bedienung (wir hatten immer die Gleiche) fanden wir etwas pampig und aufdringlich. Sie wirkte nicht sonderlich motiviert und vor Allem nicht geschult.Obwohl aus unserer Sicht sehr viele Angestellte auf dem Platz herum(schw)irrten, war die Wartezeit kaum zu ertragen. Wir warteten über eine Stunde... Also schnell da hin über Mittag, funktioniert definitiv nicht!Alles in Allem war es eine riesige Enttäuschung. Einzig die Preise spielen auf einem hohen Niveau. Wir mussten leider einmal mehr feststellen, dass die schweizer Gastronomie nicht versteht, wie man mit sehr kleinem Aufwand viel mehr rausholen kann und dabei die Kundschaft auch noch beglücken kann!!! Leidenschaft ist gefragt, dann funktioniert praktisch Alles! Die Lieblosigkeit, gepaart mit Jammerei ist ein Killer. Mich wunderts nicht, dass so viele Restaurants bachab gehen...
