Kantan Sushi in Lausanne

Was hungry in the evening and came across this place. At first I was unsure because of the location and the size, but then I was completely convinced by the ambience - very authentically Japanese - and, above all, by the chef/owner/sushi master. One of the best sushi I've ever had. All our own creations. Top quality. Arrigato Maestro

The sushi is simply delicious. I tried the veggie bento and loved every single one in it. I especially loved the shitake gunkan that's full of umami. The chef (owner) was super friendly. I would love to revisit his place.

Local that doesn't look like much, but the quality of the sushi offered is high! The chef is passionate about Japanese cuisine and he speaks about it with enthusiasm. He makes his own vinegar for rice (which is incredible), not to mention his homemade ponzu sauce which is to die for. The ingredients are fresh, tasty, I let myself be tempted by a selection of nigiris and california, with cuttlefish, eel, tasty salmon, shrimp and breaded chicken, frankly it was a treat. I only wish him to find larger premises where he can express all his know-how, I will come back for sure!

Excellent sushi. The fish, but also the seaweed and rice are of very good quality. The boss likes to share his passion and offers a great variety of options. I highly recommend it to all fans of this Japanese dish.

Tiny hidden non-descript gem for sushi, we pass it as we leave the Activ Fitness gym at Chauderon. I actually can't believe my luck that this place is in the 'village' that is lausanne. EXCELLENT sushi, hands down the best I've had in Europe. The rice is perfect texture, seasoning, and humidity (not dried out hello Sushi Shop and the like). Food is made to order and not left sitting in a refrigerator, so maximum freshness. Tuna and hamachi was so fresh and not too cold, just perfect. His hacked wasabi actually has flavor and the kick that is missing from the typical wasabi offered here in europe. I've been to Japan 5 times and have eaten my share of 'correct' sushi. The place itself has no seating so for takeaway. Perhaps if the chef plans to stay he could install a small counter. But I hope he has incredible success and can get a larger location to have seating. Please support this excellent place and the chef that has actually been trained by a sushi master. He's been doing it for 15 years. I don't want him and his sushi to leave!

Fantastic choice for anyone visiting looking for a change of pace, tuna was incredibly fresh and well prepared. House soy sauce was amazing as well and I’m usually not even a soy sauce guy. I’d post a picture but we ate it so fast we forgot to take one, salmon dragon California roll was remarkable.

Everything is done on the spot in this little take away. The boss is very friendly and perfectly masters the making of sushi. The best in Lausanne without hesitation. It is better to reserve your dishes in advance due to the success encountered.

Very nice discovery! Hidden in a corner of the cauldron, this little takeaway restaurant is worth the detour. The sushi is very good, I recommend it. Looking forward to tasting the rest of the menu.
